Hey guys, this just made me really excited...

On Mike Donehey's (Tenth Avenue North) twitter:
"Reread "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" on the flight home Reminded of the hope of another country. Gonna try 2 write a song for the soundtrack"

Wouldn't that be awesome? :) Actually, I'm not sure how their music would fit with VDT exactly, but I'm still excited that it could be a possibility. ;) If they do it right, of course.

Avie by flambeau.

"I'm there through your heartache, I'm there in the storm.. I don’t care where you've fallen, where you have been, I'll never forsake you, my love never ends, it never ends."

I'll be happy if this is for an Inspired by CD but I don't like the idea of a song of theirs on the soundtrack. Well as long as it isn't in the movie.

Ditto Gelnstorm the Great! ;) We need something that 'feels' narniaish :) And quieter... and hopefully not rock-bandish that way I'm allowed to listen to the credit song THIS time ;D the first were so 'rockish' I'm not allowed to listen to them... I was so disappointed :((

And I just listened to those You-Tube clips of music! those are GREAT! It has that 'wild' narnian flute sound! Perfect! =D

:music: risk it all cuz I'll catch you if you fall... if my heart was a house you'd be home :music:

The last music clip in the VDT wouldn't make a bad new sound for Narnia. It sounds nice and epic:

What was wrong with the credits songs that you weren't allowed to listen to them, Pepper? They weren't exactly metal and there wasn't any negative content in the lyrics.

Wow, that clip is really gorgeous, Damsel. :D I'd not heard it in its entirety before.

One thing I'm hoping for with this score is more uniformity of sound. The previous scores have been all over the map soundwise.

Pepper, I feel sorry for you mate. Music is a tool it can be used for both glorifying God or discrediting him. A genre of music in and of itself isn't evil. I hope you can come to realise that one day. If the decision is your parents, it's best to go by their rules while living under their roof.

Bookwyrm, I haven't enjoyed the Narnia credits music at all, except The Call by Regina Spektor. She's one talented and quirky songwriter. Enya music sounds good to me.

I remember being critical of the music from the LWW, but after listening to it over and over, the music grew on me. I hope VDT's will be better than Prince Caspian's.

I was wondering if anyone knew what music was used in the latest teaser trailer for VDT?

Perhaps this has been discussed before on NarniaWeb, but I've recently been listening to the song "A Dance 'Round The Memory Tree" from the PC credits, and I've come to the conclusion that this song is from Susan's POV after the LB. Don't know why it would be in the Prince Caspian movie, maybe it's because it's her last time there? Not sure, but most of the lyrics suggest that (to me at least) this is her in a way speaking to her siblings after their deaths, and her trying to remember Narnia again.

Here are some of the lyrics:

Words we have said
Grew in my head
Colored my thoughts
Sang me to bed

Lost memories
Grew into trees
Covered the doors
Swallowed the keys <---To me I feel this is her beginning to remember

Winters have come and gone
You know
Winters have come and gone
You know
But I'll meet you young and free (<--referring to Aslan's Country)
For a dance 'round the memory tree

Said I forgot
But I did not (<---These to lines sort of confirm my theory for me!)
Dreams we have had
Play in my head

Did we believe
The cry of the leaves?
Did we regret?
Would we forget? (I'm assuming she's speaking about herself? Her forgetting Narnia?)

It just seemed the only character it would befit best.
Any thoughts on this?

I would love to see a number of sea chantis in the music as well as some of the musicical themes from the first two movies being carried over. After lack luster scores in Star Wars I and II, the use of the original star wars movie in III really made me excited from the very beginning of the movie. I think that would be similar here.

@HighQueen_Of_LanternWaste You are right, that song does sound like Susan after LB. I never thought about it that way

@Ancientdogma In the trailer a lot of the music sounded like the LWW music, so I hope they will use similar music in VDT.

Any word on whether Harry Gregson-Williams is doing the next soundtrack, and when it will be released? :)

I'll just copy and paste this from the Trailer#2 discussion:

"With regard to the music featured in the trailer, Adamie mentoned in the comments section that the music was the same as in the Robin Hood trailer, and he is correct on that (its in Trailer #2 for Robin Hood to be specific).

The main piece in question is apparently "Conviction" by Full Tilt: Groove Addicts, and can be heard in full here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__jpdR82_6w"

The score for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is going to be composed by David Arnold. No word yet on a release date for the CD.

What music would people like to see as Reep paddles away? Bah I can't even begin to pick. I think I'll just go read VotDT again instead:)
