Oh, I'm glad everyone else would love to see Enya there too. Ditto, DamselJill, I thought Caribbean Blue would be a perfect song for Dawn Treader, though as an Enya fan, I'd be far happier if she made up a whole 'new' song for the sake of having something new to add to my completed Enya collection...
I'm glad that you're glad I agree with you but I didn't mean one of her songs that has been out for years now should be in the film. Her tune and style in "Caribbean Blue" should be the same style to a new song even if she does sing for VDT.

ah! Okay, I understand, and I wasn't trying to be a snot or anything either I *do* agree, Caribbean Blue fits VotDT so well, and it's one of my top fav. Enya songs =)
But back to Narnia, since this is a music discussion, what are some of everyone's favourite themes from the soundtracks? Any takers?
:music: risk it all cuz I'll catch you if you fall... if my heart was a house you'd be home :music:
Oh no I wasn't saying you were a snot or anything. I was just fixing a misunderstanding It's all good!!
I like the battle theme in LWW and Caspian flees in PC. I can't wait to hear some of VDT's themes.

I knew you weren't but I was just saying up front; I've had people try to fight with me on my blog (when I had one) so I try to be careful =) I didn't take it that way =D
Great choices on your themes DamselJill! =)
Ah, let me see, I love the Lucy/Tumnus theme, so delicate and gentle; I love the music where Aslan first makes his debut; the music when the children are rediscovering Narnia in the beginning of PC; the PC main theme was good; the music when they see Aslan's How (the Pevensies I mean) was simply breathtaking; and from the moment when Lucy stops the Telmarine and Old Narnian armies to the point where he roars at Trumpkin would be my favourite themes =)
Those are probably *some* of the most inspiring themes there =) oh, and the Night Raid stuff was pretty neat. I *am* looking forward to this soundtrack. Anyone else looking to buy it too? Or are they going to wait to see what the music's like off the movie first? I'm going to buy it as soon as it comes out.
See? I could talk music *forever*... let alone Enya, LotR, or Gods & Generals...

there's a a Christian Celtic/Rock band called Iona and they would be great for songs for VotDT!

I want to check out this Iona band! I never heard of a Celtic Christian band before. This is awesome!

Hmm, that's interesting! I'd *am* hoping for something more traditional sounding for the credit song though, not necisarily pop/rock

Pepper Darcy, I will definitely buy the soundtrack right off the bat! It doesn't matter what it's like in the movie...I'll probably like it anyways!
As for my favorite themes....dang. How do I choose? Well, I love the vocal parts in LWW during the opening credits, as well as the battle theme and Lucy/Tumnus's theme. I also love the music when Lucy first enters Narnia that makes it sound like snowflakes are falling, and Only the Beginning of the Adventure (the coronation). In PC, I like Prince Caspian Flees, the little bit when they're on Glasswater, when they enter the treasure chamber, Raid on the Castle, The Duel, Battle at Aslan's How....and I think that's it. There's so much to like, though!!!

I'm just hoping to avoid the annoying pop music we've had with the previous films. I do not understand why they do this with fantasy films, but it's a really obnoxious trend. The new Alice in Wonderland film suffered from this. To go from Danny Elfman's gorgeous scoring to Avril Lavigne screeching about freaking out was a huge mood-breaker.
Oh YES, FireFairy! those are great choices I forgot about the song The Begining of the Adventure, that is one of my fav. too! I still need to get the PC soundtrack. It's on my 'wishlist'... more like 'hope list'
Ditto Bookwyrm! I *so* agree! =) I remember freaking out with the first credit songs on Narnia and thought 'but... I was expecting something that would top May It Be! This is *awful*...' We can hope I think the pop song was personal taste to the director (and I'm not trying to pull him down, that's his personal taste) Apted might want something 'beautiful' for Narnia... So we can *so* hope!

I looked it up, and it's only ten bucks on iTunes...

I know this sounds a bit weird, but I actually think the music from the LWW videogame is the best. The music that plays when Eustace and Edmund enter Narnia, as well as the game's main theme...it just has a mystical feel to it, as well as a feeling that the Pevensies are becoming part of a great legend.
Idunno, does anyone else like the videogame music from LWW?
Winter Is Coming
^ I wouldn't know, since I've never played the video game!

I think the music in the film suits the film better, but I just like some of the video game music more.

^I'd look at them, but youtube doesn't work on my computer for some reason. Otherwise, I would.
