I just so happen to have started a poll on the subject of people's opinion of the Carrie Underwood song. You can find it here.

It's probably not in order of appearance in the film. Soundtracks do that sometimes.

That is very true but the one David Arnold Soundtrack I have (Stargate 1994) the tracks are in order of the appearance in the film. But we shall see. I am sure the soundtrack is wonderful!

I do have to say, I love how there are so many tracks! I bet most are probably a minute or less long but its a lot more music! Probably all of it! I listen to the soundtracks of the previous films and then watch the films are there is still a lot of music that isn't on the soundtrack I wish were. I don't think there will be that issue this time :)

If there is 72 minutes of score like David Arnold says, that's an average of 2:24 per track. I'll settle for that. For some reason though, I keep on hearing in my head what the score would have sounded if George Fenton would have written it. (He didn't so I have to get over it.) Anyways, David Arnold couldn't have approached this movie any better from a mental standpoint, so I'll just have to be patient and see what he does with it.

I just watched this video here:

http://www.narniaweb.com/2010/11/transi ... ia-videos/

And I'm wondering if the music from the end is actually from the score? Can anyone confirm or deny this?

If it is I didn't really like it (but then I hardly heard anything). What I did hear sounds like hundreds of other movies and the bit towards the end, which I did like, reminded me of some Indiana Jones music. :)

Any thoughts?

I had absolutely no idea David Arnold had replaced Harry as Composer, but I'm not complaining. I'm sure he'll deliver on all fronts. And if that goes well here's hoping he'll continue into The Silver Chair and beyond.

Oh and while this may be my first post, really it isn't. I was once known as F-V-D. Apparently my former profile no longer exists or something, so hello again!!!! :)

HM Swanwhite, I can see what you mean. The first times I saw it, I realized I could definitely tell that this wasn't Harry's composing. The "duh-dah-duh-dah" part of the music felt really weird to me, but after watching it another ten times( :D ) I got used to it and actually thought it was awesome! Even if David's composing isn't the same as Harry's, I think I'll learn to love it! ;) :-bd

Ooh! My precious! :D

From what I'm hearing, this music sounds really spectacular! Too bad it's only about half a minute clips, but I think David Arnold is doing great! ;)

Ever since I found out David Arnold was doing the score for VDT, I have been edge-of-the-seat excited to see what he would come up with. Now, having heard clips from the soundtrack...

Well, he didn't disappoint. :D I noticed a few tracks that were reminiscent of other movies (Pirates of the Caribbean & Amazing Grace most notably, though AG is to be expected since it's the same composer), but not so much that it subtracted from the originality of the pieces. Even though I only have 30 second audio files to listen to, a couple tracks have me chomping at the bit to see the scene that will accompany them in the film. ;) I eagerly await hearing the whole thing when the CD is released! :D

I thought I heard some from Hidalgo in one too, but I can't remember which, over all though I like it, not as much as I like Harry Gregson-Williams (sp?) but I think I'll love it when I hear and see it in context. :)

That's the italian version i believe.

On a purely musical level, i'd have to say thats probably the best arrangement of the song i've heard. Given that the basic lyrics are somewhat heavy handed and cheesy, the fact that they've given the song a slightly rockier power-ballad type sound actually works in the lyrics favour i find. Not too bad.
