High Queen_Of_LanternWaste, that is a very interesting theory, and I can see where that can be seen in the song...not sure that's what the song writers meant, but it works... ;)

I really like the PC soundtrack I actually really like how they used a lot of the same music theme and just built on it.

And HighQueen_Of_LanternWaste wow that does make sense that it would be susan's point of view!

I posted this a while ago, but I never received an answer, so I will re-post.

Can someone help me to identify this piano music from the second disc of the Prince Caspian DVD? I am a piano teacher, and I want to transcribe the music for one of my students, but I wanted to check first if there are recordings out there elsewhere, or if any sheet music already exists for the pieces--though I doubt I will be that lucky.

For the second selection, I am also curious if there is more to the piece.

Any information that you might have would be superb!

Thanks!

@icarus: Thanks for posting the video link for the music from the 2nd trailer! I was beginning to wonder! I'm updating the soundtracks playlist on our YouTube channel and it needed this music. However, that video has been removed. Here's another:

.

On our Facebook page, I created playlists of the music from both VDT trailers. Check this out:

. Clearly, though, the 2nd trailer playlist is incomplete. I noticed in the VDT trailer #2 thread here on NW that someone asked about all the music from the 2nd trailer, because Groove Addicts - Conviction isn't all of it. What about the first half of the trailer: the Oxford scenes, Aslan's lines, Lucy in the magician's house with the snow = 035? What is that? It's not Conviction! :-

I love the music from both trailers, but probably what's in the first trailer more. I hate it when people say they didn't like the music. Why? What do they have against violins and choirs? This stuff is majestic! I've been listening to the trailers music all afternoon, over and over! B-)

And I love having David Arnold for VDT composer. He did a great job with the Amazing Grace score. I don't know who picked the trailers music, but excellent job! I much prefer it to the LWW and PC trailers!

aehanson, I'm not exactly sure what it is... but I agree it is quite beautiful. You'll be able to find similar pieces by George Winston. Actually the piece you were speaking(or typing ;) ) of will be fairly simple to translate since it's basically broken chords. I'm sorry I cannot help you more than that. I'm sure there are others who can help you a bit more, but there you go.

I saw the movie....and was disappointed

The new reports state that the music is amazing! I sooo can't wait! Arnold's previous music was great! Even though the whole theme of the film might be messed up, I at least hope for an amazing score!

I really hope David Arnold can add a distinctive and personal style that's better than the last two scores. Besides mentioning that he's going to use a fiddle solo in the movie, I like these two old tweets by Arnold: "still 3 days recording left on Narnia. lot of music…….choir Wednesday. Musicians playing out of their skins…thrilling to hear them." That gets me a bit excited, I can't wait to hear it. The other tweet I like was:"my choir await…..will emerge in 3 hours all ‘aaaaahhhd’ up." Soooo, we know he's using a solo fiddle, some thrilling (action?) music, and a good dose of choir into the mix. Where do you guys think he'll use these ideas or instrumentation? Even though this is a swashbuckling adventure, I really hope David can capture the depth of the spiritual moments of the voyage. I would like to feel over powered by sight and sound as we get closer to as Aslan's country. And please don't jar me with a pop song before we get to the end credits. I would prefer that the song should be more traditional, (celtic maybe?) and be more in line with "May it Be" from Lord of the Rings. Anyway, those are my thoughts. :-?

I'm looking forward to it. I loved Gregson-Williams, and I hope Arnold does a great job. Preliminary reports sound promising. Even if the film stinks, I will probably buy the soundtrack.

I love the magnificent sound of the music because you don't necessarily have to personalize the music for each movie because it fits for all.

The music makes a movie! Narnia would have been less incredible withought Harry Gregson Williams and the New Composer!!!!!!!!!! You get what i mean? :D

How can you say that it would be less incredible without David Arnold ("the New Composer")? You haven't even heard his work yet! :-o I mean, optimism is great and all, but let's not sacrifice logic for mere enthusiasm.

I'll be interested in hearing what Arnold does with the material, certainly. His score for Amazing Grace had its moments on disc, and was quite enjoyable when heard in the context of the movie. This quote from him does make me wonder, though....

The one thing I love about those things is that there are no rules. Nothing is actually real, you don’t actually have to worry about having a responsibility to truthfulness in a real sense; it’s just about how to make the film’s feeling and heighten the film’s effectiveness. You’re not telling a true story. It’s not like Amazing Grace which was a film about something that really happened, a film that has actually affected real people… A giant talking lion (in Narnia) is not the same sense of responsibility.
