Eventually, the switch is reversed, but in the meantime "the favoured child" begins to understand life "on the other side of the counter".

Will FC and his friends in exile still be able to deliver their gifts to the world's children, or will Christmas have to be cancelled??
(The above scenario was very loosely inspired by JRR Tolkien's Letters from Father Christmas, which are an absolute delight for anyone who's a fan of Tolkien, Christmas, or both!! )
