Happy Memorial Day!! Our church was planning on having a picnic today, but since the weather looks as though it is going to be rough, we're having our picnic inside. :P

Yay! It's Ruby! Good to see several of your posts again.

*GLOMPS MISS R* It's so good to see you posting on the Square too!! They're are a lot of people who have been absent for a long time...I've just gotten back into posting since school ended. :P

And that's really neat that your choir director accepted your mom's arrangement of Scarborough Fair. (That song always reminds me of Simon and Garfunkel [sp?] -- a pair of several-generation-old singers, so don't feel bad if you don't recognize the names. ;)) )

Yes I've heard of Simon and Garfukel. My mom was a huge fan of their music and we still enjoy listening to their music. My favorite song of theirs is "Bridge Over Troubled Water". :) Now that you mention it, I can see how Scarborough Fair reminds you of them... :P

Glad to hear that your brother is doing better! I was in the hospital earlier this week as well, and.... wow. You never realize how much you love being home until you're gone. That's fantastic that he's coming home, though! I bet your family is super excited. :D

Thank you! We're so glad that he's back. He's looking better every single day.

Oh dear! Why were you in the hospital? I know what you mean about being home. I think this year more than ever I've learned to appreciate being home...and with family. :)

Congratulations! That’s quite epic, hiding God’s word in your heart and all that.

I find that memorizing Scripture is way more effective for me than just reading it. When I read it every day, I have a tendency to simply skim over it or not really absorb it. When I memorize something, I really want to know what it means because I'm saying it over and over again. It's a nice way to encourage myself to "dig deeper". :)

And I’m glad your brother can at least control the disease by watching what he eats. I think most people in America should cut down on starch and sugar anyhow.

He's actually on what we call "the junk food diet". It's not really junk food, well not that much junk food. He can't eat a lot of fiber, so he's having to eat white bread and the like...which we like never eat white bread in our house. Hehe. We're an exceptionally healthy family at least in what we eat. :)

By the way, I really love your graphics. They're beautiful!:D

*waves to Elanor*

Well, I will be off now! It seems my sister wants a turn with the laptop. :)

God bless!

*Two familiar, old figures enter the square on this hot, muggy day. Cor and Vern head for the Ditto Pool and take a quick swim before sitting by the fountain to dry off*

Ahh... that was quite refreshing. :)

Mortereve all! It's been several weeks since I was last here, so I thought me and Vern should stop by. No much has been happening around Archenland.... I finished my first year of college and am now enjoying summer break. B-) The weather is getting more hot and humid every day, as is usual in AL. :P

*Which means a perfect excuse to go to the lakes for swimming and fishing. ;)*

Exactly! :D ;)

Well, it looks like we have some ketchup (hold the burger, just the fries) to respond to:

@ Lys. Yep, the Square has come to a crawl in the last few months.... :( Anyway, tis great to see you around again! :D Hope you can stop by again soon.

@ Ela. "Bet your pardon"? Huh, that's a new one... :P

@ Gigi. Welcome to the Square! :D You may be interested to know that we have a chocolate tree in here. ;)

@ Ara. *pokes his old friend.... well, not technically old but old as in not having been here in a while and... oh, never mind.* :P

Anyway, it's GREAT to see you around again! How are things with you? :)

@ Rose. I'm glad to see you back around and that you noticed my acknowledgment of your help in "bringing me back". :p :) Ah yes! The Royal Mother!! I really need to tell her her presence is needed in here...

*Vern sneaks up behind his friend and gives Rose a HUGE dragon-y hug. Miss Rose!!! :D Tis been far too long since we've spoken. I trust all is well with you and yours? :)*

Heh, yeah same here... ;)) Though my excuse has been NW chat and a new RP dragging my attention away. Might not be a good excuse, but I'm sticking with it. ;)

--------------------------------

Well, I think that is it. :) I believe Vern and I are going to stop by the Supernova story thread, check that out and then head back to the castle. I believe Lady A said something about garlic butter rice and chicken for dinner...

*Cor and Vern wave to all and exit the Square*

Avvie by the great Djaq!

Hot and muggy for sure, Prince Cor! (Though it's probably cooler here than there). We camped this weekend, and most of the weekend was pleasantly cool, till the heat arrived this morning (accompanied by a warm front that brought pea-sized hail and bigger). Glad I had my tent put away by the time that hit!

We had plenty of wood to burn, as I've inherited some scrap lumber from my parents' house (they're moving to an apartment soon). And we did have one nice night for stargazing, mixed in with all the thunder and lightning.

Supernova is really taking off, isn't it? Plenty of very good writing there. I enjoyed reading your posts in it, Prince Cor. The little italicized intros are a nice touch.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

It's been soooo slow that even though I've read all the posts, I think I've forgot most of what I might have said since I last posted. But I'll give it a go. ;))

Hi, God's Girl! Welcome! I think I remember your sister, but I'm not sure. You can say hi to her from me anyway. :) Fireflies is a pretty song, isn't it? Is it very hard to play?

wild rose! It's so nice to see you here!

...I have finished memorizing the entire first chapter of the book of Hebrews!

Congratulations! I'm trying to memorize Hebrews over the summer too, and I'm not doing so well. I have chapter 12 but I memorized that years ago. :p

Praying for your brother and your family.

for MissRosario too. You're planning on seeing Itzhak Perlman in concert? That sounds like a lot of fun!!! (Also, I'm so glad you can spell his name. I can't. I'm always surprised when I see how the names of classical performers are spelled. :p )

Let's see... have I read any good books lately? Well... I re-read The Hawk and the Dove by Penelope Wilcock, which is about a girl retelling the stories her mother told her about a monastic community in the 1300's. I'd forgotten how good it is. I'm also re-reading the Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanaggan and a fan re-write of the Tom Swift Jr. series for light reading. Lots of re-stuff, there. ;))

I do like to sew! Skirts are always recommended as beginning sewing projects, and sometimes I think I should have done a few more before I started jumping into projects that are always just a wee bit outside of my skill levels. ;)) Anything else new with you? :)

It has been awhile, Ara. I've been doing well, thank you (ha about the Portal 2 quote)! The weather here took a turn for the better and has been absolutely gorgeous; ninety-degrees and sunshine... perfect for the beach! Apparently we're supposed to be getting some severe storms later this afternoon, though. Eh.

I'm enjoying the Hobbit so far (though I'm only on the second chapter). And yes, Simon and Garfunkel! My parents used to play their records, as well as those of other artists: John Denver, Peter Paul & Mary, and ABBA to name a few.

Ah. I was hospitalized for my depression, actually. It got serious, and I needed to be safe and receive medication. I got the anti-depressants, and have been doing quite better. :)

Oh, yay!! :D What others have you seen? Well, looks like the club isn't getting much enthusiasm. :p But at least I know that we have some intelligent people here. *coughCorDjaqandotherscough* :p

I saw the one with Colin Firth in it. I didn't dislike it (of course, since it was so long, many more book scenes were included); I just like the 2005 version better. :) Have you read Pride and Prejudice?

*returns Ruby's GLOMP* :D Haha yeah.... I guess I'm back around for a little while. It's been so slow in here, sheesh! Maybe a few more SquareOnions will pop by, now that it's summer and all.

Ah yes! The Royal Mother!! I really need to tell her her presence is needed in here...

Mhm, I concur. And perhaps you can get the Royal Father to drop by with Horsie while you're at it. :D *plucks off several truffles from the chocolate tree....... before they all disappear* ;)

Vern! I agree! It's been far too long. *gives Vern a HUGE SquareOnion-y hug in return, plus one more* :D How have you been? Ruined any more tapestries lately? ;) ;))

I know what you mean about musician's names being hard to spell, Mel. I always have trouble with the classical composers. (Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn......And yes, I had to use the spell check on those.) :p Phew. Craziness. More of them need to have names like "Bob Park" or something. ;))

I've heard of the Ranger's Apprentice series. Never read it, but I've heard they are rather good.

Oh really? My first project was a pair of pajama pants. Something went wrong with them though. One of the legs was lopsided. :p

Hm... what's new for me? Well, I just finished re-reading Harry Potter, which was exciting. And then this past weekend was graduation weekend for my highschool, so there were lots of parties and stuff going on for that. Wah, graduation is crazy. Oh, and I also watched the King's Speech for the first time! I'd heard really good things about it. Have you seen it? If so, what were your thoughts?

Read and watched waaaaaay to much of Jane Austen's stuff these past few days, I watched Sense and Sensiblity and Emma yesterday and Persuasion today, and read Sense and Sensibilty and a bit of Persuasion....I think it's a little more then is good for me...I'm starting to behave like the girls in the movies :p

I had a chest pain today but still can't get an appointment with the doctor or get the results of my blood test :(

Oh and I solemly promise to comment on everyone's posts next time I drop by, I don't want anyone to think me rude or self centered.....I'm just very sleepy right now (it's past midnight) and I don't know hardy anyone here, so I'm not exactly sure how to comment or what to say (hopefully that will cure with time :) ) well I must be off to dreamland

Good mortereve ladies, gents, elves, hobbits, and all the other fair folk of NarniaWeb. I just discovered what "mortereve" means (or what I think it means) and so I'm using it now. Yippee!!

Our house is in disarray as it usually is when we're cleaning it. :P I am looking forward to spending the rest of the day finishing cleaning my room. I've finished sorting through all my old shoes and am almost done on all my clothes. Feels good to get rid of things and have a clean(er) closet. :)

It also feels good to have a long beautiful red formal dress. A friend of ours passed it on to me. It doesn't fit perfectly, but well enough. And it's oh so fun to wear. I feel like I need to go to a ball or something now. :)

*waves to Prince Cor* Congrats on finishing your first year of college!! Fishing and swimming sounds like a good way to spend the summer. I really hope I can swim more this summer. :)

Would you mind passing some fries this way? I'll take some ketchup with those, thank you...

Congratulations! I'm trying to memorize Hebrews over the summer too, and I'm not doing so well. I have chapter 12 but I memorized that years ago.

That's so cool! I've been looking for people who have done or are doing Scripture memorizing. My mom memorized Phillipians a while ago, but other than her I haven't really found many others... :P

Are you thinking of memorizing something other than Hebrews? And if so, what book do you think you'll memorize?

Thank you for praying for my brother!! He's getting so much better! :)

*returns Ruby's GLOMP* Haha yeah.... I guess I'm back around for a little while. It's been so slow in here, sheesh! Maybe a few more SquareOnions will pop by, now that it's summer and all.

I know!!! I got on here recently and it seems things have just been crawling. Sadness. :( I'm also hoping that some more Onions get on here soon. I know the reason I haven't been on here in so long is because I've been too busy with school and everything else!!

My sister just finished reading the Ranger's Apprentice and she really liked the books. I haven't decided if I want to read them or not yet. I'm still working on the King Raven Trilogy. :)

*waves to stargazer*

EDIT: Hi wild rose! My sister and I like to have what we call "Jane Austen" marathons. They tend to happen unintentionally, where we watch "Emma" or "Pride and Prejudice" and suddenly we want to watch every single other Austen adaption. It's not always the most productive thing to do, but it is fun. :)

Glad to hear your retainer isn't hurting your mouth anymore. My brother has braces and he says the wires cut into his mouth all the time, especially when they break on accident. Sounds painful.

Well...that looks like all for now! God bless!!

I am really proud of all of us; the square is going much fast now. We have awakened it!!! :D
So . . life is exciting. Tomorrow I'm going to the first rehearsal of Annie, and I have to get better by then. :P I'm really excited, it should be really fun!! And the next day, I'm going to have lunch and see Kung Fu Panda 2 with my best friends; I haven't seen her since February, so I'm really excited! :D And then we're going to IL to celebrate my Grandfathers 80th birthday, and Memorial day.

@ Ela. "Bet your pardon"? Huh, that's a new one... :P

*sighs* Apparently my spelling has gone down the drain. :P I beg your pardon, prince. :D
*waves to Mel* Good to see you in the square! :) How are you doing?

Ah. I was hospitalized for my depression, actually. It got serious, and I needed to be safe and receive medication. I got the anti-depressants, and have been doing quite better. :)

:( I'm so glad you're doing better, and I hope you keep recovering.

I saw the one with Colin Firth in it. I didn't dislike it (of course, since it was so long, many more book scenes were included); I just like the 2005 version better. :) Have you read Pride and Prejudice?

I think I've seen all the P&P's made; the old black and white one ( /:) ), the 4 hour, 6 hour, and 2 hour. I agree, I didn't dislike the long one, just it wasn't as good. Not nearly as well done, not . . as nice. :P
Are you kidding?! :P I've read all of Austen's work so many times! :D I'm guessing you've read P&P too. :)

Oh, and I also watched the King's Speech for the first time! I'd heard really good things about it. Have you seen it? If so, what were your thoughts?

I know this wasn't addressed to me; but I just saw this movie a few weeks ago, and I loved it. :D It was really painful to watch, but so inspiring and beautiful!!

That seriously sounds like crazy fun, Wild!! What could be better than Jane Austen!! :D

Yesterday I heard that the song I Can Only Imagine is ten years old? Did I hear that right? I would have guessed it was only about six years old... [/random, but I assume someone here knows the answer]

MissRosario, I always have to use spell check when talking about musical people, since I usually hear the name first. ;)) I think I have the most trouble with the French composers, though. Russian kind of makes sense. :p

I've never tried sewing pants. But at least with pajama pants you could (maybe?) still wear them so it wouldn't be a total failure. :)

Graduations are crazy. Especially when your little brother gets sick the day of the graduation/reception, and after begging and pleading to stay home decides to go anyway... Let's just say that was not the smartest thing he's ever done. ;))

I have not seen The King's Speech yet. I want to, because I've heard good things about it too! But I didn't get a chance while it was in theaters, and I don't think it's a movie we'd watch as a family, so I'm guessing it'll be awhile before I get around to it.

I think it's a little more then is good for me...I'm starting to behave like the girls in the movies

I know how that is! I read a lot of anything by anyone with a distinct flavour, and I catch myself thinking in a similar style. ;))

I've been looking for people who have done or are doing Scripture memorizing. My mom memorized Phillipians a while ago, but other than her I haven't really found many others...

Awww. You should come visit at the beginning of one of the winter months, and I can introduce you to a lot of people who memorize. :D I'm involved with a program called Bible Quizzing, which encourages teenagers to memorize whole chapters/books from the New Testament. I think it's great, because, like you mentioned, it's one thing to read a book of the Bible, but it's something else entirely to spend six or more months immersed with every word.

By next spring, I'd like to have all of Hebrews and 1&2 Peter, but like I said I'm not doing too well at all. If you want, I'd love to do some sort of accountability thing to stay motivated and working on it. :)

I read the first book in the Raven King Trilogy because the premise sounded absolutely fantastic. It didn't live up to the expectations I had for it, but people keep telling me I should give it a second chance...

Hi, Elanor! I'm doing well. I think maybe I'm a little crazy, because I'm going to be walking ten miles on Saturday if all goes well. It's one thing to walk five miles home from work, but it's another to do twice that distance. ;))

You're going to be in Annie? Is that the musical about the orphan girl and Daddy Warbucks and the song about how the sun will come out tomorrow?

First off, I know I'm not in here much anymore so my opinion might not matter as much as the opinion of those here all the time. That said, I am GLAD it's been slow... makes it easier for me to keep up. I hate it when pages and pages go by in a day, so when I miss a week or more I give up on trying to learn about your lives. And I hate that. So, I don't mind in the slightest when you all take a breather. :p

Now, where were we? Oh! In all my haste and tiredness last time, I forgot to comment on this:

Yes, it was hinted at in the book, but not nearly as much - so they just took from a little, non-important them in the book, and made it really big. :)

Now I kind of wish I had the time to read the book again. I want to know how much of it was in the book. And as for the show... I only can really think of certain scenes where it played into it. The rest of the time it wasn't brought up. It's not like it permeated the thing. I'm confused now. ;))

hehe - I do love that song, but my favorites were Winter is on the Wing (WOW!!!! And the guy who played Dickon in this play was MUCH better than the broadway guy - he's amazing! :D), and Hold On. I partially liked that one because my friends sang it, but she has such an amazing voice and it's so pretty, I was sobbing and thrilling all over. :D

Yes, yes, YES!!! "Winter's on the Wing" and "Hold On" are two of my top favourite songs in the show! It's hard for me to pick favourites, though, as all of the music is so pretty and moves the story along. Maybe it's better to say those are two of the most played on my iPod and the cd from this show. :p

And someone better than the broadway Dickon? That's a pretty big claim, because I adore listening to the broadway Dickon... so it'd be hard to top him in my mind. Then again, I've only seen a few other guys do it on youtube, and none really come close to him. And you probably liked this guy better, because it had people you knew in it... I am always more biased in favour of people I know versus strangers. ;) Now you have me wanting to hear the guy you heard, just so I can see for myself who's better. =))

I love plays . .

Yes, plays and musicals are pretty amazing!

Speaking of musicals, that's one of the reasons I haven't been in here as much. I'm helping out (when I can) with the summer kid's show at the playhouse. The performances are at the end of this month. Anyway, they're doing School House Rock Live Jr. :D

Gosh, do those songs get stuck in one's head! ("Interjections, show excitement or emotion. They're generally set apart from a sentence by an exclamation point, or by a comma when the feeling's not as strong" Sorry, had to do that. SEE WHAT I MEAN?!) I've been listening to them because I figure, if I'm to help the kid's learn them, I better know what I'm doing! So, now they're in my head. ;))

It's so weird... I know School House Rock was on the tv (not to mention shown in school) all the time when I was little. But the only song I recognised when starting this show was "I'm Just a Bill". And man, is it more than a little annoying... if I had known the song called "The Preamble" I would have done a LOT better on the Constitution test in 8th grade. (which we needed to pass to graduate. I passed, obviously... but did real bad) Why don't I remember the rest of them?! Weird.

Anyway, when I'm not doing that, there are lots of other things going on. Celebrating people's graduations (friends and one of my cousins) and family birthdays. Doing chores and trying to write. And church stuff... including something I'm real excited about:

NEXT WEEK IS VBS!!!! :D :D
This time we're doing this one: http://nazareth.group.com/intro
I'm so excited to get this going, because I always consider it one of the best weeks of the year. AND I'm not hopping from job to job this year, either... I get to be a crew leader all week long!! It'll be from 530 each night, so I don't know when I'll be able to talk... either daytime, or once I get home maybe? Though I'll be worn out... :-s

The end of this month and leading into July I'll be at camp in NY for a week... as I do every summer. I'm really anxious for that as well. And have been trying to think on what to take this time. It's gonna be here before I know it, and I can't wait! :D

Oh, and my phone is... almost dead. (translation: It works fine, but it's a flip phone... and the top half is almost completely disconnected from the bottom half) So, I'm getting a new one. We ordered it Saturday night. It came to the door today, but I was the only one home and was sleeping cause I didn't feel well, so I missed it. But hopefully it'll be here tomorrow! I'll miss my current phone, but I can't wait to figure out how the new one works!!

And, now, just so you all don't think I've forgotten the rest of you...
's to all!

And one more thing for now...

PA! *Tacklehu….* I mean, greetings your highness. *polite curtsy*

*giggles at the curtsy and tacklehugs Ara*

Is this the novel you started a while ago? Good for you! I haven’t done much* writing lately.

*That is to say, none at all.

Uhh... wow, this shows how long it's been since I've last talked with you! I'm still working on that one, yes, but it's a MUCH bigger project that just the one book I started November 13th, 2009. ;))

I'll explain better when we can have a more proper and lengthy talk.*
Until then, click the bottom link in my sig. I can try and respond to questions about it either through facebook, pm, phone, or... **

I hope the things stressing you out turn out to be the kinds of things that make you stronger and lovelier!

Some of it is just stress at home, of the normal variety. And in the long run I will learn and grow from that. (hopefully. though sometimes I feel I should have learnt that ages ago)

But some of the stress, is less actual stress and more... sadness, and the pain of separation. See, I know several families moving this summer:

1) One of them is from the playhouse... they did "Oliver!" and "A Christmas Carol" (this year) with me, and we haven't been friends long... yet feel like family. However, when we started this kid's show, one of the first things I learned is that they are moving after this show. So, that's a bummer.

2 & 3) The other two are families from church. Both of which are really involved with the youth. (one of them with the younger kids, preteen age. and the other with the high school) The one family moved to Germany yesterday... so Sunday was our last time with them. And the other is leaving for Ohio two days (on the 12th) after VBS ends. As I've said before, our church is small and like a big family. And we're all pretty close-knit. So to lose two of our most active families within such a short span of time, after knowing them for six or so years... it's hard. Many of us have choked up more than once the last month or so. And the next few months will be really hard, as we'll have a hole in our hearts and family.

So, all of that will take some time and getting used to. I mean, we're gonna keep in touch, but it's really hard. As I have said to some of the church people (about one of the teens moving in particular) "Guys, I don't know what we're gonna do when Hans leaves... he's our entertainment! I mean, we still have Timmy, thank goodness... but he'll be so bummed his best friend is gone, that for the first few weeks he won't be much fun anyway!" Somebody (I think Hans' dad) said "Well, maybe you should step up and be the funny one then, Andrea". =))

If you ever have more time to chat, I’d like to listen to you.

You know that part above? With the * and **? Here's my response to those and this sentence of yours...
We can do all the catching up we want, when I see you at the end of next month. ;)

......................
I'd say more, but my mind suddenly went blank! :-o
Then again, this post is so huge... can you tell that writing is my super power and that I don't visit much? *headdesk*

I'll visit when I can!
Have a great mortereve/week/weekend/etc, everyone! Love ya!

*is back* :D I am really tired. Our rehearsals started this week, and though there have only been two so far, I'm still tired. They last a really long time, and I'm still recovering from a flu. I don't feel ready for this jam packed summer. A play (with rehearsals almost every week night), a trip to IL, and D.C, some weddings . . Oh well; it'll be fun!!
Yesterday I went and hung out with my best friend; it was really fun, because I needed to talk to her. She got engaged recently, and I had to hear all about it!! :D Friends are so wonderful!

I have not seen The King's Speech yet. I want to, because I've heard good things about it too! But I didn't get a chance while it was in theaters, and I don't think it's a movie we'd watch as a family, so I'm guessing it'll be awhile before I get around to it.

I hope you can see it soon; I think it is a family kind of movie, other than one section of a scene, which you could skip by - just language. :)

Hi, Elanor! I'm doing well. I think maybe I'm a little crazy, because I'm going to be walking ten miles on Saturday if all goes well. It's one thing to walk five miles home from work, but it's another to do twice that distance. ;))

Oh wow!! I'm not sure I really envy you. :P Are you going to be all alone?

You're going to be in Annie? Is that the musical about the orphan girl and Daddy Warbucks and the song about how the sun will come out tomorrow?

Yes!! And it's such a cute musical; I'm really falling in love with it and all the songs.

Now I kind of wish I had the time to read the book again. I want to know how much of it was in the book. And as for the show... I only can really think of certain scenes where it played into it. The rest of the time it wasn't brought up. It's not like it permeated the thing. I'm confused now. ;))

I guess we just viewed it differently, so we had different opinions about how much of it there was in it. :P

hehe; they're so amazing, Ii'll have to listen to them again. It's just hard to listen to someone sing it who I don't consider as good as the people who I heard sing it, were. If that made sense.

In a lot of the musicals I go and see, or am in, I find the people in them to have much better sounding voices than them. I'm sure the broadway people have better voices, but especially for the guys, when they have high voices, they don't seem to have no depth in them! I guess it's the style of singing that is popular in broadway today; I like plain old, good sounding singing. :P And I know I'm not making sense.
And I didn't know the guy who was Dickon; I knew the one who played Martha. :) But yes, I wish you could hear him; I wish I could hear him again . . :(

*Ruby and Winter drop in from the Silver Kingdom and sit down by the Square Fountain*

Ruby: Winty, I couldn't help but notice that everyone in here is a little too...sane.

Ruby: Yes, fellow nuts of the Square, you heard that correctly. It's time for another Ruby-Winter hour of utter insanity!

Today we are here with our good friend, the dragon Lux.

Ruby: Yes, yes, Lux. Everyone knows you're allergic to everything. Winty, what do you say we introduce Lux to our platypus and our penguin?

Lux: *looks offended* I'll have you know I am not allergic to myself...or daydreamers!

Ruby: Now that we've introduced our friend Lux, we probably want to re-introduce ourselves, seeing that there are several new people on the Square as of late. I am Ruby, in case you didn't notice. I'm a hobbit.

Ruby: Our hour of utter insanity was originally hosted by the announcer, but he quit on us--can't imagine why.

Ruby: He definitely wasn't very tolerant. I mean, seriously! We landed a tornado in the Square, hot air balloons, crash-landed a plane, and bombed the place with toys from Santa's sleigh! What's the big deal? Anyway...we're looking for a new show host. And Lux here happens to be a candidate.

*rolls eyes* With good reason...And, Ruby, do you think we could not mention the planecrash? It might not look so good on my record, and you have to have a good record for a pilot's license. ;).

Ruby: Plane crash? What plane crash? ;) *turns to Lux* Take some allergy medicine, and you'll be fine. All you have to do is come on stage, announce our names (with much bravado) and occasionally get light fixtures dropped on your head. *grins*

Well, some people are so unadventurous! Speaking of adventures, Ruby, we should probably head off about now...walking home from my house would be quite the adventure for you, no?

Ruby: Hmm, yeah. You're probably right. Well, it's been exciting, watching Narnia and Harry Potter and FMA. :)

As to all you lovely folks on the Square, it's been fun!! Next time we'll bring something explosive to liven things up a bit. ;)

I really need to poke my head into Ditto Town Square and catch up on old times. How long has it been I have resided here ... over six years now? Oy. Time flies, but not quite like a certain flying squirrel I have missed chatting with.

Took a brief look at the old Town Square and the day it closed for a remodeling ... September 3, 2009. Only seems like yesterday we were grousing about the changes. Now I could not tell the difference between the two.

*looks about for Gorse*

I have been so neglectful of my friend.

“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”

Haven't been here for weeks... :p I *did read/skim through some of y'all's posts, so hopefully I'm not too out of the loop... :-p

Your sister had a boy, QS? How exciting! Do you have any other nephews or nieces?

The little guy has an older sister, so yes. :-) My niece is 2... Hopefully some of my brothers will get married soon. 😉 Haha... yeah, who knows. They're not courting/dating yet... and I'm happy to have them around yet. :-)

-----

So! Um, let's see, what's new...

-I start a writing class tomorrow. It's with other homeschoolers, but I'm sort of dreading it. :p

-Our vacation was super! Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Ocean and relatives' houses. And I big camp with friends and met some new people...

-Speaking of vacation, I was "blind" for 2 days on it... :p One of the driving days, then the day we were at Yosemite. Which was too bad, but it was still pretty fun. I at least *felt the mist from the waterfalls on my face! And we got pictures. :-)
And to explain- I had a bunch of bottles of liquids in a bag with my contact case and a few other things... basically, I think some of it got into the case, and then I tried putting my contacts in after they'd been in the *case all night... Blech. Bad idea. I started getting blurry vision, then my eyes got really irritated and then they became too painful for me to open. So I kept them closed and wore shades because they were light-sensitive. :-P
On the 3rd day I could open my eyes, but then I just wore my glasses for a few days-- and my vision didn't completely get back to normal for about 4 more days...

-And now I need to finish writing, practice piano and violin, read, and maybe sew and bake. :-)

See y'all! Maybe I'll be able to visit more often! :p

It went well!! The auditions were really fun, and went really well too. I got called back the next morning after auditions, to compete with 6 girls to get the part of Annie. I didn't. But I'm very glad that I came close, and as I'm one of the orphans, I'm excited! It was really fun singing Tomorrow for everyone.

Well good for you! Being in the final 6 must have been fun!

I have the funny feeling that I'm being made fun of . . oops.

I’m not making fun, just taking advantage of your typo for a well placed pun. And I guarantee my posts have more typos than yours. :P Feel free to point them out.

Ruby, meditation and memorization go hand in hand. I’ve been in a Bible study about that before. All the spiritual disciplines build on each other. :) God likes synergy I suspect.

He can't eat a lot of fiber, so he's having to eat white bread and the like...which we like never eat white bread in our house. Hehe. We're an exceptionally healthy family at least in what we eat.

Lol! That’s a perk I suppose! I like white bread for things like toast and grilled cheese but wheat for other sandwiches. I’m choosy about what food tastes healthy in my diet.

And which graphics are we talking about? The old ones with the sunset over the marsh or the red dahlia? Either way, thanks, but all I did was find a nice picture and crop it. :P

@ Ara. *pokes his old friend.... well, not technically old but old as in not having been here in a while and... oh, never mind.*

Good evening crowned prince (and be careful. Some of the onions about might not appreciate having someone 20 years younger than them called old!) How fares your family and dragon? You know, besides being doused in humidity more reminiscent of the deep south than Narnia? ;)

I listened to the link you posted on Facebook yesterday and I have to say, horror music isn’t my thing but Gyorgy Ligeti is rather brilliant to have come up with that many mysterious, intense themes himself. Atmosphere is a good name for that piece of music.

And I’m good. Working lots. And um… wasting lots of time. I need to get more involved in my church so that stops happening. Good to see you too! How are you enjoying college?

John Denver, Peter Paul & Mary, and ABBA to name a few.

I LOVE John Denver! Especially ‘Leaving on a Jet Plane’ and ‘Rocky Mountain High.’ There’s something so stirring about his unpolished, acoustic music. It hits some kind of cord in my.

I'm starting to behave like the girls in the movies

I had a chest pain today but still can't get an appointment with the doctor or get the results of my blood test

As to behaving like a Jane Austin female character, that could actually be a good thing depending on the character. Her characters seem to have a lot more depth to them than the average woman in our world.

Goodness! Your body seems uncooperative right now! I’m praying the pains in your chest aren’t anything serious. That’s incredibly frustrating you can’t get an appointment to see a doctor when it could be something quite serious.

And speaking of Jane Austin and reading her, I’m about to start Northanger Abby for the first time. I have no idea what to expect, but I hear to makes fun of the Gothic Romance Novels that were plentiful in Jane’s time so it should be a blast. :P Who all has read that one?

*Is tackle-hugged by Andrea*

I'll explain better when we can have a more proper and lengthy talk.

Deal. :) Are you on Facebook chat much? I usually get on and right off again to check if anyone I want to talk to is on.

Oh man! That’s hard to lose that many involved people in a small church. Involved families are few and far between. They’re always missed, but if God wants them somewhere else, then His plan will work out for the best. Even for your church.

Elanor, I feel like an idiot now. I was thinking you were trying out for Anne of Green Gables. It also has orphans way at the beginning so I figured you had a teeny tiny part. :P (I was also surprised to learn it was a musical. Ha ha, I'd love to hear Anne sing about smashing a slate over Gilbert's head.)

Also I bet the Broadway folks sound better live. I went and say Les Mis. live and I’m pretty sure it had some of the actual Broadway cast. It was excellent!

Paul! You do indeed need to stop by more often. :)
