*waves to the wandering Anna* Ugh about losing a catchup post - that's such a pain. Do pop in once in awhile, though! We enjoy your "hello, I'm still alive!" posts just as well as the long ones.
Alright, alright... I get the hint! Here I am!
Oh, and might I say... I much prefer it when it goes slowly in here. Much easier for me to catch up that way.
At least you are still getting new ideas for your novel, even if they do come mostly at night. Hopefully your sleep won't be bothered too much.
Yes, yes... at least I'm getting ideas! And that's good! Great, even! I just wish they'd talk in the daytime, so I could sleep... which would give me enough rest to properly keep up with them!
gazer, good luck in your dealings with your characters!!!
............
On the one hand, I feel lousy: I'm always tired, and my asthmatic lungs have been... a problem. It feels tight, and I'm always coughing. ugh.
On the other hand, things are going well: I'm slowly but steadily getting more stuff written. And I've been getting ideas for/and making some VERY pretty graphics lately! And that ALWAYS is a good thing.
So, I'm not quite sure how I am.
Ummm... what else? I don't know...
I'll try and think of more to say. And if I can, I'll be back later. If not... I'll just peek in when I can.
*waves to everyone, and exits*
Hello all!
Please forgive me for not being around the square for awhile - I have definitely missed it, even if it has forgotten about my existence. I will try to do a catchup post as soon as possible!!

So there is a battle going on in here?
*rubs hands together greedily*
How I do love a good battle! Stand forward, namby pamby elves- if,that is, you are brave enough to reveal your true identity to the LuMinater!
MUHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*pops in for ten seconds from the Ditto Fountain*
I'm afraid you will have to find the namby-pamby elves first. Over in the Fountain, we are in the process of infiltrating your tower.
*returns to the Ditto Fountain*
I will keep my response to that because if I'm not mistaken (I'm relatively new to Ditto Town), a better thread for this discussion would be the Tavern.
Finally here to do some catchup!!
The snow is all melting again, and I believe that this time, it won't come back. So there, winter!! At least - I hope not . . .
On Friday, after not having a minute to sit down and be by myself all day, I went to dance lessons (which were amazing!) and then to the fanciest restaurant I've ever been too. It was amazing. The waiters put the napkins on your lap for you, and folded them whenever you stood up. After the meal you got scented, hot towels to rub your hands in (amazing!!). And VERY expensive, delicious food. It was a super good day.
*waves to Elanor* I saw a few pics of that "Annie" play, and it looked like it was a lot of fun!
It was a huge load of fun - hehe, sorry about the confusion over those pictures - but I'm glad you liked them!

hh.. and now it's March.. have you started yet? Yesterday I haltingly double-clicked my file for the first time since the term started back up, and closed it after about 5 minutes. Now I'm getting to the stage where I'm afraid I'll never get to it.
Ah, and now it's almost halfway through march, and no, I haven't started, wretch that I am. I will, though, I will!!!
hehe - well I think we're at the same stage, so we can encourage each other.
Not unless something very unexpected and untoward happens, like -- I dunno -- a pretty girl wants me to watch it with her. I simply must read the book first. How about this? I'll try to take off a month or so between finishing the book and watching the miniseries. That way, I won't sweat the small stuff. And ... I'm afraid that's as far as I'll compromise.
I'm so sorry!! Let me see, I'll bribe some pretty girl who lives near you to come and make you watch it with her. Oh, but - but - please?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should take a year between reading and watching them, but that would be way too long to wait for such a movie. This is a sad thing.
This is not always true. Whereas there are some adaptations of my favorite books that drive me mad (the Narnia franchise, I'm afraid, fits the bill here), there are others that I find simply marvelous, such as the LotR films, the Liam Neeson Les Miserables, and To Kill a Mockingbird. All of those would make my top ten books and movies list. So you see, it is possible.
Just by you listing several different books and movies, it shows that we're thinking "favorite" along different lines. Some books are more than amazing, and excellent. They are indescribable, breath taking, perfect, moving . . I only know one, which is the Count of Monte Christo, and I say that those people who made a movie of it . . well, they are not very smart. And LoTR is almost, nearly as good, but yes, those adaptions are amazing (I say, having never watched them. ).

I finally got my camera going, still trying to figure out how it works...
And I'm going to see Tron: Legacy tonight I wanted to see it before but VDT was out then, didn't see the original though...
Finally if you've read GMD somewhere way back when I said I was gonna make a FB event for reading the CoN books (either one of the least famous 6 or all of them) in a week....
Well today I finally did that, but I'm not even sure where that thread was, let alone if it's still open, so I'm posting it here:

Hello all,
This is my first time dropping by. I can definitely relate to all the sickness that has been going around. Finally getting over a really nasty sinus infection. Those are horrible. So I have been very busy keeping up with my job and my 11 month old little boy. He is definitely keeping me on my toes. He is always getting into things and pulling down books off the shelves. I am currently re-reading A Tale of Two Cities, which is one of my all time favorite books. I got started on that kick after watching the 1935 version of the film again. Great adaptation! One of the best of one of my favorite books. I will definitely have to check out the Liam Neeson Les Miserables, as that is one my favorite books, as well as musicals ever. Anyway, these are just some of the things I've been up to:)
Wrong will be right when Aslan comes in sight / At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more / When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death / And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again
Oh, Liam Neeseon is in that?? I watched it many years back and loved it but didn't know that the man who played Aslan/Qui Gon Jinn was in it! Cool!!! Will have to watch again!!
Hey...you just gave me another movie idea! lol

January? The shame.. I try to write every day, but it's usually a few times a week. Mostly it depends how tired I am when I get to bed, because it would never occur to me to write at another time of day, would it?
Oh, and a very late happy birthday, since I wasn't around.
(okay, well technically I was probably around for your birthday. I just didn't, you know, realize. )
Hehe... Nothing new has happened lately it seems. So I just don't write because I'm sick of writing about the same thing. Because writing down events is boring. And my feelings are all the same as they were a few weeks ago practically. Yeah, I raaaaarely write except at night. Sometimes if it's all I brought with me somewhere and I have a bunch of spare time.
Aw, thank you!!! And I don't mind. I miss so many people's birthdays on here.
So- how's life? And maybe I've asked this before, but have you lived in Japan your whole life?
@Elanor: No problem. Hope you've been well?
Avatar by Wunderkind_Lucy!
Wait, Aslans Country lives in Japan? I hope she wasn't affected too badly by the recent earthquakes...
*checks Prayer Requests*
Oh good, she's okay. Thank God. (I think I should be allowed to say that in this situation.) Will be praying for all others affected. (If there's one thing about being an anime fan, it does make me more sensitive to disasters that happen in Japan...)
Speaking of anime, I hope this doesn't come across as morbid or insensitive, but some time ago, an anime was produced in which, in the year 2012, Tokyo would be destroyed by an earthquake. The anime was called "Tokyo Magnitude 8.0". Alas, it seems nature ended up being worse than predicted...
Uh, I didn't come here just to talk about earthquakes, did I?
Oh right. Today's my 6-year NWeb anniversary.
...
I should be happier about this, but... I guess ever since I got past four years (meaning I was a NWebber through an entire schooling period, namely college), NWeb had officially become an "old friend" of mine, for which the number of years I've spent with start to not matter as much anymore.
Still, it means NWebbers I've known since they were 12 are now ready to attend college. Now that is something I'll need to get used to...

Hello everyone. Checking in from Japan.. it's been a horrible couple of days, but I have a lot to be thankful for, compared to others, so I won't complain.
I'm so glad my family and friends are safe, and we're alive, we have food, water, a house, electricity.. all these things we take for granted. Even though we're not in immediate danger, it all seems so much more real when the disaster's happened here.
Anyway, I'm fine. Just shocked/scared, still. There's all kinds of rumours floating around about what could still happen, and aftershocks don't make it very easy to relax.
Catchup time.. what there is to do of it:
Ah, and now it's almost halfway through march, and no, I haven't started, wretch that I am. I will, though, I will!!!

You will!! ..Have you? DoitdoitdoitdoitdoitDOIT. *tries to assume a stern face and fails*
I should go do some now, actually - take my mind off things. There's so many plot holes to tie up, though. I think from about the second fifth of the book, I might change the direction entirely. Don't want to think about how much work that's going to take.
*waves to Lucy85* Welcome to the Square!

Well yes, I can relate (minus the last few days, obviously ). Writing my feelings out sometimes just ends up in me being more confused, overall.
Life is.. pretty scary right now, obviously. But at the same time I'm incredibly grateful for all I do have. (And yes, I realize you couldn't possibly have known about the dramatic turn my life was about to take when you asked that question. )
Pretty much. I was born here, and every 4 years we take a year "off" in the UK, so I've spent 3 years total in Northern Ireland as well.
Thanks for the concern, stardf. Well, it's true that people have been expecting/predicting a huge earthquake in Tokyo for forever.. whether this is 'it' or not is a different matter, as the epicenters weren't even in Tokyo. 8.8 is huge.. when I first heard it I couldn't believe it.
Well, I'll be off. Please pray for all those who have been affected by the earthquakes, tsunamis, and goodness knows what else is happening.

Hey Everyone!
Sorry about the LONG LONG LONG LONG absence, I have been super busy (which is no excuse really)... Work is starting to really pick up with is nice for us, it makes a man feel so much better if he goes out and works instead of lays around......
Well since I have been in here last (which was February 11th), I got my licence which is really fun to be able to drive by my self! I have really been enjoying that, now I am saving up for a car which will probably be a Honda Accord 90 something model...
Anyway I thought that I would drop by and say 'Howdy do' soooo... HOWDY DO!
I was going to tell you about other things that have been going on but what would you know but they all left me...
Well actually Jesse (my brother) is getting married in 13 days which is pretty exciting! And I will be in the wedding which will be fun! I'll tell you all more about that some other time
Now I got a bit of 'birthday' catchup
And now, in celebration a very special day, we raise a toast to Benjamin, in this occasion of his birthday! Apparently this really is a ... cake! Or ... here's a fun one.
Thanks Aunty Jo! I really like those cakes!
Hurray, Ben! Happy birthday, once again. I'm glad to hear your day was special!
Thanks once again Rose
And last but not least, happy birthday, Benjamin! It's a little belated, but extra cake is always good, right?
Great cake Rose Dryad! Thanks
*GLOMPTACKLES BENJAMIN* Aaaack! Where have you been? Well, wherever you've been, I hope you've been doing well. Great to see you on here!
I'm sorry, been busy and all that How are you Danielle?
Hullo, Benjamin! A very happy belated birthday from me.
Thanks Valiant, belated are still very much appreciated
Good to see you around Bella!
Well I have to be going, got a church meeting tonight, oh and by the way I wanted to tell you all that God is AMAZING! And that He should be your main focus and purpose in life! If you put Him first you will be so blessed and more happy then you thought possible!

Happy Pi Day, SquareOnions! To celebrate, I should hunt up a pie, perhaps of the chocolate variety.
Welcome back to the Square, Benjamin! I hope you had a great birthday.
And I'm glad to hear you and your family survived the earthquake and tsunami, Aslans Country. It's so shocking just to see the video coming out of Japan, I can't imagine experiencing such a thing.
Happy NarniaWeb anniversary, stardf! Here's to many more!
Hopefully the sky will stay clear here for the next hour or so; I intend to try to spot Mercury near Jupiter low in the west. Here's an animation of what to look for this week, from Sky and Telescope's website.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
I have a few questions...how do you get involved in the ditto stories? What is "Team Hobbit" (and how do you join)? Also, has anyone heard from Riella yesterday or today? I'm concerned about the radiation possibility in California.
