True Justice
"I didn't waltz. I never waltz. I did run into you, though. Literally." She made a face. "I prefer not to remember that."
She kicked her horse into motion and passed Terence. "Race you!" She called back as the wind whipped the hair into her face.

Terence rolled his eyes. Despite the fact that he wasn't fond of horses, he did know how to ride one. His siblings used to race a lot when they were younger, but as he grew older, he learned to depend on his own feet instead of a horse.
He kicked his horses a little harder and said, "Come on!" With a final kick, the horse launched into action and its hooves pounded the cobblestone and finally the thick grass at the edge of town. It took about 2 minutes to catch up, but then he was right beside her. "You're going the wrong way," he yelled. "Left, go left! To the capitol!"

"May I help you into the carriage?" Xeras felt his face soften into a smile, a stark contrast to his normally chiseled features. It almost made him look... nice, wonder of wonders.
He held his arm out to Jade. "We'll be at the Festival in short order. And when we're there, I'll buy you whatever you wish. Perhaps a large piece of pie?"

Shay took a sharp turn to the left and nearly fell off her horse. The ground below her passed in a dizzy blur, and she felt her stomach flop a bit. She couldn't believe she'd dared Terence to a race. She hadn't been thinking. Ordinarily, the thought of riding a horse made a bit of fear lurk in the pit of her stomach. There was just so much that could go wrong.
"Left. Right. Of course. I knew that." She eased into a quiet trot before she went into a panic attack. "Okay. So. What are your plans when you get to the Capitol?" She sniffed. "Because, I'm not gonna lie, you really could use a bath."

Terence guffawed when Shay actually turned left. He had been lying, just to see if she'd obey his command. He slowed his horse and continued laughing. "You should have seen your face..." His horse fell into step with hers.
"It's actually not left." Leaning over, he corrected her horse's direction. "Straight ahead."
In return to her bath comment, he said, "Well, you don't exactly smell like roses either. More like a wet rat, actually..." Terence grinned and said, "I bought some soap at the mercantile. When we camp for the night, I'll take care of the smell...It would be a shame for you to have to wrinkle your nose the whole trip..."

Ellion turned his head aside when Ainsley inquired about the flower. He had every desire for her to know that it was his gift, but at the same time he wondered if he best leave it for her to guess. With a sharp sigh he glanced toward her, "I put it there." he murmured, quietly though so that the words had a possibility of getting lost in the din of the crowd.
With her nudge, his eyes sought out the two people that were the subject of her warning. In little less than a moment his demeanor shifted; altering itself dramatically from reserved, to steely, his jaw setting and eyes going a cool blue. Kye's voice brought him from this though, and he took the piece of pie on a plate, "Thank you." he spoke softly, picking up the fork and taking a bite of the dessert. It was quite good, and found this as an excuse to move away to a position a bit behind Ainsley, sitting on a barrel that had been dropped and left.

Jade put her hand on Xeras' arm, smiling coyly at him before settling into the darkness of the carriage. "Anything I wish?" Her dark green eyes sparkled in such a fashion that they could even be seen in the shadowed place they now sat. "Pie..." she purred at his suggestion, considering the possibility of this. A succulent slice of such a dessert sounded quite pleasing and she nodded.
"I think that would be lovely, Xeras." Jade's raven hair laid in wavy strands around her shoulders as she looked up toward the man who sat beside her.

"I knew that I've kept you around for a reason!" He replied, accompanied by a swift elbow to Alex's ribs "But I seriously hope you aren't planning on hooking me up with Mrs. Hengst, because then I'd begin to doubt your taste pies and women, but especially pies. " The lady that Torin was referring to was in her late sixties, approximately two hundred and fifty pounds and had notoriously terrible Meat Pies.
"Aww crap man, she's glaring at me. Common dude, lets get out of her sector before she see's my soul." And with that nifty remark Torin trotted over towards Mr. Jones' stand. He of course had a beautiful sixteen year old bombshell named Anna, whom Mr. Jones happened to guard like a crown jewel, however as a bonus his pies were delicious.

Aedra twirled in and out of Orlando's arms, enjoying the music and his strength. She smiled, stepping a few feet away. "Are you hungry, Orlando?"
She placed one hand on her flat stomach. "I know I am...Why don't you get us a few drinks and I'll get us some lunch?"
Orlando nodded and said, "See you in a few minutes."
Aedra nodded and skipped toward the food stalls. Despite the fact that she hated long, stuffy meals with this dignified person and that, she loved to eat. She would eat almost anything. She made her way toward the meat pie stand and said, "Two slices, please!"
As she waited, she observed the other customers. One particular young man caught her attention and she grinned, sending a flirty wave in his direction.

"Now why would I inflict such mental and physical damage upon my good friend? I may be one for tricks, but give me a bit of credit, Torin. I'm not that cruel!" Alex said rubbing the side of his personage that his young friend had jabbed. "Mr. Jones you've got a lovely daughter..." the young blacksmith whispered in a mock sing-song voice to his companion as they neared the pie stand.
Out of the corner of his eye, Alex noticed a rather pretty young girl standing in line with them. "Two slices, eh? You'll need a drink after that. Could I interest you in getting an elderberry froth when you have finished your pies?" Most likely the girl would turn him down, but it was worth a shot.

Aedra arches a brow. "Elderberry froth? One of my favorites." She giggles lightly, stepping closer as she waits for the pies. "Unfortunately," she turns and points to a man in a blue jacket, "he's already ordering me a drink. I'm afraid you're a little too late, my good sir."
Her eyes twinkle. "However, if you're free for a dance..." She takes the two plates that are offered to her. "I'd be happy to oblige." Her tone is flirty.

Torin snorted when Alex attempted his version of flirting. Failure he thought with a smug smirk on his face. The girl was rather pretty however and given the chance, he wouldn't mind having a go at the flirting game. Just then, she asked for a dance, giving him the perfect opening to get the jump on his friend.
"Well, Alex! You've already found me an extremely beautiful girl, you are really good at this! Now would you mind picking up that pie? I've got a dance to partake in" with that, he offered his arm to Aedra "Shall we then?"

Aedra turned to look at the younger one. They were both good-looking, in her opinion, but the younger one seemed a little more outgoing.
"Well, just let me set these down. Orlando is very hungry, you know..." She turned, without taking his arm, and walked toward Orlando.
She set them down on the barrel-made table and said, "I'm not very hungry anymore, Orlando. I think I'll have another couple of dances before I eat."
Before Orlando could protest, she skipped off in the direction toward Torin. She grabbed his hand and pulled him into the thick crowd of dancers. "What's your name?" she shouted over the din.

"Ah, what a pity. I am glad to see you have a fine taste in drinks, though." Alex replied to Aedra. He was about to accept the offer of a dance when Torin butted in.
"I know..." Alex replied through grated teeth as his younger friend stole his spotlight. The strong urge to deck Torin then and there was overcomed with the idea to take his friends pie as his own. "Have fun!" the huntsman said in a sudden cheery voice as he took the meat pie from Anna Jones.
Noticing that Elaina was standing at a nearby stand, Alex made his way over to the herbalist as he ate the meat pie. "So tell me, what looks good?" Alex inquired of Elaina when he finally arrived at the fruit pie stand.
"Everything... that is, except for you." Elaina retorted in a civil tone. "I have yet to try anything that Kye has cooked that was not delicious." she continued with a nod towards her friend.
"Well then, perhaps I should try a piece of everything. But alas, my pocket is nearly empty." With this, Alex turned to Ainsley and gave a playful smile. "Which pie would you recommend for a man that needs to satisfy his sweet tooth yet can only spend a small amount, miss?"

Kye smiled as she set the basket of rolls aside and cut him a slice. "My pleasure." She handed the plate to him and said, "You know, in return, you can get us ladies a drink."
Reaching into a glass jar, she pulled out some coins that she had earned and held them out to Alex. "I'm sure they'd be much appreciated," she cast a pointed look toward Elaina and smiled knowingly.
