Shay looked up at Terence with an amused expression. "I knew I loved the ocean for a reason. Apparently we both irk you." Shay held back a laugh. "Although I'm surprised to hear you don't get sick of me, since I rather thought otherwise. I tend to have a negative effect on people."

"It would be horror to live with a wife I despised, so I choose to put up with your quirks and annoyances." Terence said, sitting on a nearby crate. "I find them amusing, actually."

"I'm not your--" Shay spouted off, then stopped herself, and revised her response. Her tone was edged with sarcasm. "I'm glad you find them amusing. The feeling is quite mutual, I assure you." She smirked. "I never pictured myself married to someone like you, but as I have no choice in the matter, I must make the best of it." She stood impatiently from the hammock where she'd been sitting, and paced around a few times. "I wonder when we'll set sail."

Adrian smiled a bit at the conversation as he looked out to sea from the porthole, but his mind was more on Aeryn as he saw the beautiful sunset. The colors were striking, and he knew that Aeryn would love it, if she saw it. He had to rescue her-- he had to! He didn't know what he would do if he never saw her again, never held her hand...
The room gave a small lurch and then the distinct impression of moving. "We're leaving just about now, I'd say," said Adrian, turning back to the others.

Terence chuckled at Shay. "Good, good."
He frowned when he felt the lurch in the ship and said, "Let's hope we take the smoothest course...or else...I won't say what else..."

"What happens if a storm rolls in?" Shay asked Terence. "Or would it not be prudent to ask, dear husband?"
Shay stopped pacing, picked up her satchel, and swung it around her neck. "I'm going above deck." She smirked at Terence. "And I dare you to come along."

Adrian stretched his arms behind his back, listening to the banter and trying not to ache inside. When Shay said that she was going up on deck, he perked up substantially. "I'll come with you. I don't like being belowdecks on the sea. The motion is too slight. I like the feel of the waves."

Jean gave a slight smile. "I, a boulder? That's an interesting picture. My mam always called me as flighty as the wind. Here one day, gone the next..." He looked a little lost in daydreams for a few seconds, but not long enough to be noticeable. "Nay. I'm not letting him have his way in this."

"Yes," said the wolf gravely. "I think you'd best cover the computer room, Vertex. And I know I'd likely be of the most help in the chemical storage room. Do you guys think we should cover the basement? If only there were more of us, I'd hate for some of us to be alone"
"I could relay messages back and forth, Wolf." Responded the raven.
"Aye, but it might not be enough."

A gremlin scout approached Zigbot's throne rather nervously. "Everyone is ready, Sire. The weapons have been assembled and everyone has been reminded of their positions."
"Excellent. We leave within the hour," he replied menacingly.

"Aye lad, you might be flightly at times." he patted his shoulder. "But I'd so your more strong and determined....like that boulder." James chuckled and moved to another cannon, securing the ropes. "I heard the navigator talking with the captain. They was whispering about storms brewing tonight. I'd hold onto your hat when you're up there in the 'nest. It would get a mighty dangerous if we were caught in a tempest."

Jean's eyes flicked back to the captain. "Aye, he would like it if I fell out and died, at that," He shook his head. "Can't do it face to face, can he? Has to ask for help from his friend, the wind." He gave the captain another look and then turned back to James. "Thanks for the warning, mate. I'll hold on tight."
He said goodbye to James and went down belowdeck to get a few items for the watch. It was usually dark and cold, but for a small lantern he was allowed, and he needed warm clothes and some wood to whittle.

Shay tried to mask her surprise when Adrian accepted the invitation to go above deck, since she hadn't expected Terence to agree, much less Adrian. Then she smiled. "That would be good. I'd like company, and I'm not sure Terence is up to going above. Though I'd like it if he would. I'd like to enjoy the sea air next to my husband, and watch his face turn green. The invitation's still open, by the way, Terence."
She grinned at him, then turned to the ladder leading up to the second floor, looking over her shoulder to address Adrian. "I enjoy the ocean for the same reasons. The waves are so beautiful. There's nothing quite like it." She climbed up some more until her head was barely visible. "With your love for the ocean, I can only assume you are a sailor - am I right?"

Adrian smiled at Shay's words, "The water seems alive out in the ocean. It's not like a lake or a stream; It does as it pleases and we sail only at its pleasure."
His eyes took a bit of a far away look as he spoke, but he came back to reality when Shay asked if he was a sailor and he grabbed the rungs of the ladder behind her, his hands strong and sure. "Yes," He answered, climbing up, "I'm a sailor. I've been ever since I was old enough to go to sea. Some folks say that living in a port town makes all the boys want to brave the ocean, but, as you can see with Terence, that's not exactly true."

Terence stood from the crate. "I'll come..." He walked toward the ladder and waited until Adrian went up. "I don't intend to turn green, though..."
He chuckled at Adrian. "If I was supposed to brave the ocean, I would have been born a fish..."
Once Adrian went up, he climbed the ladder and stood on the deck. "Don't get me wrong, the ocean is beautiful. The blue even matches your eyes." He looked at Shay and grinned. "I just prefer to look at it at a distance."

Shay bit her lip as she climbed up the last rung of the ladder, and turned to Adrian with mild amusement. "The way you talk about the ocean reminds me a bit of myself. The way I live my life, everyone has no choice but to follow." She smirked as she got to the top and stepped out onto the deck.
"Whether you intend to turn green or not, I don't quite think you have any say over that. Seasickness doesn't listen to the rules," she told Terence with a bit of sarcasm in her tone. The wind played with her hair as she spread her feet apart, balancing with ease as the boat rocked on the waves.
She tried to remain reserved, even in light of Adrian & Terence's banter. "Living in a port town certainly gave me the wanderlust." She shrugged. "But, not many captains are keen on having a lady sailor. So I settled on being a professional traveler instead." She grinned wryly. "And my dear Terence, you are most certainly not a fish. Though I thank you for the compliment." She then tipped her head. "Wait - you prefer to admire my eyes, or the ocean, from a distance?" She winked.

Terence arched a brow. "The ocean. It would be a pity to admire something like your eyes at a distance. Your mouth, when it's out of earshot of course, is also a beauty to behold. Your nose..." He crossed his arms and rubbed his chin. "I suppose it's a nice nose...What do you say, Adrian?" Terence glanced at his friend as he continued, "So altogether, I'd much rather admire you up close than at a distance, but if I was deaf, it would be even better."
Terence shrugged. "You're a beautiful woman, Miss O'Teale. Even a fool could see and admit to that."
