The sailor returned before Terence could reply. "I will show you to your sleeping hammocks now."

Terence glanced at Shay, picked up his bag and then grabbed her hand, saying, "Come along, my little dove." He knew there was no way she could lash out without blowing her cover and he smiled with haughty satisfaction as he followed the sailor, pulling Shay along.

Vertex shoved his glasses farther up his nose and pulled out his hand-held computer before bending over the blueprints.

"There aren't any obvious weaknesses in the structure of the lab as far as I can see," he said finally. "But it might be a problem with the computer and storage rooms being so far apart." His eyebrows drew closer together as potential problems ran through his mind. "We should probably have guards in the computer room, the storage room, and possibly in the basement in case the gremlins decide to take out the backup generators. The issue is, which room should be a priority? There's only a few of us, so we'll have to choose which areas need to be protected the most based on what the gremlins might go after."

Adrian followed the two onto the ship and stifled a laugh as Terence introduced Shay as his wife. Well, so long as she's able to come, I bet she'll be all right, he thought with a smile.

The wood of the ship felt good beneath his boots, and he breathed in the fresh sea air. No matter how dismal the circumstances, Adrian had always loved the sea. Remembering a question from Shay earlier, he turned to her, "We're heading to the capitol city of Negara to go before the courts and testify to Aeryn's innocence." And to testify against Aeryn's brother, too, if he could help it.

He tapped the sailor leading them on the shoulder as they walked towards the stairs to below deck. "Hey there, mate. I'm a sailor. If you've any need of help on the journey, any at all, I'd be glad to give it. I'm much obliged to your captain for the fares."

A deep growl emitted from Seranoy's throat, only resounding loud enough for Jean to hear. His eyes seem to grow darker then their already normal shade of brown, then he clenched his fist and sighed. A grin of full teeth flashed and he nodded. "Of course, Mister Jean. Where else would I be!?" he said this loud enough for others to hear. It was clear he hardly appreciated Jean's suggestion.

My little dove? My little DOVE?! Shay fumed. Well, she could be just as patronizing... if not more. "Of course, sweetheart," she said sweetly, batting her eyelashes as they followed the sailor to the sleeping quarters. A hint of sarcasm was laced through her tone, but she tried to be as sweet as possible in spite of her extreme annoyance. "Have I told you that your hair looks marvelously dashing today?"

She nodded at Adrian. "I hope you can prove her innocence."

Terence grinned and nodded. "I don't think you've told me..." he stopped to think for a second, "but maybe I just haven't heard you because your beauty has me mesmerized." He arched a brow in her direction, smirking.

The sailor looked at Adrian. "I'm sure you must be happy to have a rest and just enjoy the ocean. I don't think we'll need your help on the journey, but you're welcome to help with chores if you get bored."

He glanced at Shay and Terence. "I take it you've just married recently?" He asked with a slight chuckle.

Terence looked at the sailor and pulled Shay closer. "Very recently." He stifled a laugh.

"Beauty?" Shay said sweetly, then muttered close to his ear, "Yeah right." She then smiled at the sailor in hopes that it would make her act more convincing. She put her hand lovingly on Terence's shoulder. "You flatter me, darling."

"Mr. Row--I mean, Terence is right," she nodded, resisting the urge to roll her eyes. "We haven't been married long at all. And you've enjoyed every moment of it." She raised her eyebrows at him. "Haven't you, dear?"

"You have no idea." Terence said, his voice serious. They stepped down the stairs and he assisted Shay.

The sailor pointed to 3 empty hammocks. "These will be yours." He chuckled. "Make yourselves at home. We'll be setting sail in about an hour."

Terence watched him leave and then turned to Shay, "I think he's convinced."

Glancing at Adrian, he said, "We'll find Aeryn...but for now, we can enjoy the ocean...if that's possible..."

Shay inhaled of the salty yet sweet air. "I would hope he's convinced! That charade was ridiculous!" She paused to consider this. "But it got me on board, and I thank you for at least that. I do think you went a little overboard, though." Shay scowled. "Pardon the pun." She looked at him hard. "And I meant what I said - no matter whether we're 'married' or not, I am not your little dove."

Shay smirked at the look on Terence's face. "Enjoy the ocean, my dear?" she said sarcastically. "What is there not to enjoy about the ocean?"

Adrian turned from the porthole where he'd been looking out to Shay. "Terence isn't the best sailor."

Jean smiled tightly. "I don't know. Where would you be?" He held the captain's stare for a moment and then clasped his hands behind his back. The sun brightened the metal of the knives as he moved his arms. "Was there anything else, captain?"

"I see," Shay said to Adrian, amused. She turned to Terence. "Should I be worried, Mr. Rowland?"

Shay chuckled to herself, then set her bag of things down by one of the hammocks. Sitting on the edge of the hammock, she absentmindedly swung back and forth, feeling a mixture of indifference and mild excitement about the voyage ahead.

"No, Mister Jean." Seranoy said stiffly, catching a glimpse of the sharp weapons the younger man carried "I have no further orders. You may return to your current activities." he shot Jean a hard glance before turning and once again staring blankly out at the ocean.

Jean inclined his head to the captain with equal stiffness and turned away from him. He took the stairs two at a time, going down to the main deck and catching up with James again. "The late watch. Wouldn't you know it." He muttered to the other sailor.

James was in the process of re-tying the knot to one of the cannons when Jean approached. He looked up, then chuckled. "Aye, that's like the captain. He'll try to get you out of his way." he finished his job and straightened, tossing a side glance in the direction of the captain. "But of course there are some of us who are like boulders sittin' in the middle of a path. We don't budge." he gave a satisfied chuckle.

Terence placed a hand on his abdomen. "Let's just say my stomach and the sea don't get along very well..." He chuckled. "Kind of like you and me. Only I don't get sick of you, like my stomach gets sick of the sea..."
