War of the Overdoms: Battle at Lovers Lookout

(OOC: Nice little touch with the Gollum thing. :)) )

Lady G's bow had been pulled back nearly the whole way when the minion began to run forward straight at her. Startled, Lady G moved backwards but the minion kept coming on and on, running straight at her and very nearly running right into the arrow. When the minion hit her, the arrow went wild: her arm jerked back from the bowstring and the arrow whizzed dangerously close to the other girl, yet missed her.

Lady G did not see the outcome of the arrow, for she felt the floor give way under her feet. She flailed instinctively, trying to catch her balance, but it was too late and she plunged countless feet down. She must have hit her head on the way down (she wouldn't remember for sure afterward), but everything went black, and so she missed what the minion hissed to her next before walking away....

War of the Overdoms: Battle at Lover's Lookout

When Lu looked for Lia, she did not see her. Whether that was because Lia had left, or Lucy just didn't see her, she did not know.

Maybe she turned invisible, like whoever-that-was.

Lu shook her head. It didn't matter where Lia was. She was just glad that she had not gotten hit by that arrow. She glanced down at Lady G, hoping that her bow was crushed or that she'd lost the rest of her arrows, but it was much too dark in the hole to see anything more than the faint shape of Lady G. Lu was about to say something when she realized that Lady G seemed to be out of it. "Hmm..." Suddenly, an idea struck Lu and she picked up a minion-phone that was hanging on the well. "Jammed! All of the lines are jammed! Must be the work of Lady A and her minions..." Shrugging, Lu began to run up to Booky's Tower, then thought better of it. Lia might try to rescue Lady G if she left her alone. Instead, she glanced around, then slipped down into the hole beside Lady G. Lu picked up her bow- it was alright, seemingly to have landed on top of Lady G- but the quiver, which had fallen under her was crushed. Lu gently leaned Lady G forward and pulled the arrows from her quiver. Most of them were alright, thought the feathers were slightly bent. Lu would be lucky to hit anything, she knew; she was a terrible shot, even without bent feathers. Still, she had better not let Lady G have a weapon of any sort. Lu briefly frisked Lady G for any more weapons, then slipped the bow over her shoulder and stuck the arrows through parts of her cape. The end result was rather comical, but Lu hardly cared; she was successful, and she could rip the embarrassing arrows out a.s.a.p- as soon as she got to Booky, that is. Wondering 'to where indeed' the tunnel went, Lu hoisted Lady G up as best as she could and began to walk deep down into the depths of the tower, only hoping that she would soon find Booky...

(OOC: This is edited. :p I missed part of Lu's post.)

Lia waited for Lu to leave before she began to follow her up through the Tower. She was not sure what Lady G's mission had been before she had joined her, so she decided that a rescue would be the best this to do. She pulled an arrow from her quiver and followed quickly and quietly.

She hurried and son caught up to them. Obviously, Lu was stronger than she appeared as she had Lady G slung across her shoulder. Lia decided that she needed back up. Tip toeing back out of the Tower, she pulled out her communicator. "This is Lia. I need back up." She was vague in her call for help, because she knew that Lady G's communicator would also go off, alerting Lu that she was coming back with help.

(OOC: I wrote this post a little more aggressively than my previous ones because, being still new to Ditto Town, I wasn't sure how far I could go in terms of combat. Please let me know if there is something I should edit.)

Lady G was out for a few minutes. She gradually returned to consciousness. By the time she grew less dazed and had her bearings, she had found that the minion (who was somehow stronger than she looked) had hoisted her and was carrying her down some hallway. Apparently she had also stolen her bow.

Lady G lay limply for another few moments until her brain had halfway cleared. Then, when she was certain the minion was not expecting it, she tightened her entire body and jerked convulsively out of the minion's arms. As the two tumbled to the ground, she reached around and quickly ripped away the mask of handkerchiefs from the minion's face.

What she saw made her start in horror. "I know who you are now," she whispered.

War of the Overdoms: Battle at Lover's Lookout (added title... )

(OOC, Melian_Maia, I think you missed a little bit of what happened in my post; I did not walk away: Lady G's post matches mine. :) )

Lu glared at Lady G. With the mask off of her face, Lady A's minion could now see that her captor was Lucy of Narnia, aka Lu, and best friend and teammate of Izzy the minion.

"So what?" Lu asked. Suddenly remembering that she had the upper hand (at least as far as weapons went), she plucked several arrows from her cloak and pointed them in Lady G's direction. "Get off of me!" she huffed. It did not suit her very much to be pinned to the ground; she didn't mind wrestling as long as she was doing the pinning, but when someone else had pinned her ...well, it was an insult to her dignity. While she waited for Lady G to get up, Lu was formulating a plan...

((Don't forget to put titles up! :) ))

"Pilot, you are an absolute mess!" Lady A continued to gather chocolates and toss them in the general direction of the trash can. "I can't BELIEVE you would do this--don't you remember the last time this happened? Honestly, you are ridiculous. I suppose you can't get Booky here--no, don't even try, you'll probably teleport him in a thousand different directions. I'll do it."

Lady A tossed the last of the sugar and leaned over the control panel. She was temporarily confused, then realized that she needed to read upside down, too. After a few moments, she began poking buttons. First, she lowered the terminator's shields and destabilized all automatic or semi-automatic weapons. At this moment, Lady A was very happy that the majority of her troops had old-fashioned weapons. Secondly, she finally found the voice-messaging system. She poked around a bit more, and then finally sent a private line to Booky.

"Greetings, Booky," she said. "I would like to invite you up to Pilot's lovely office. Like, get here NOW. Really, really fast. Or I can try transporting you up. Either way, just come ON."

Dot was stunned as she watched Lu shove Lady G through the trap door. Momentarily forgetting about the other intruder, she lowered herself down and followed Lu into the tunnel. She caught up with Lu just in time to see Lady G wake up and yank Lu's mask off. "Lu--" Dot broke off when she heard Lady G's communicator go off. Great, more intruders. "Lu, I hope you have a plan, 'cause I sure don't."

Lu grinned when Dot appeared then fixed her gaze on Lady G again. Still holding the arrows in the enemy's direction, Lu spoke to Dot without taking her eyes off of Lady G.

"First thing is I'd like to get up." she grunted. After Dot had helped Lu up (by pointing her weapon in Lady G's direction as well) Lu scurried to stand up and turned to Dot.

"Keep a weapon on her. What we have to do is watch out for Lia. She could be anywhere. I don't want her catching us off of our guard. And we need to get Lady G to Booky, pronto! He'll know what to do!"

Lu began hurrying down the tunnel, Lady G. behind her with Dot in the rear covering. Suddenly, Lu froze and her face turned deathly white.

"Dot..." she said, her voice a shaky whisper. "Dot, there is something inside of this tunnel, and it isn't human!!"

(OOC: Lu, I did miss that part of your post. I went back and edited though. :p )

While Lia waited for a reply to message, she decided to take another look around the Tower. Careful not to take the same passage as Lu had taken, she set off looking through the Tower. As the thought struck her that if somebody were to reply to her message it would broadcast her location, she set her communicator to 'vibrate' and put it in her pocket.

Gee, she thought, looking around. At least I'll know when they're coming down the escalator with those theme songs...

Lu was shaking in her tall black boots as whatever-it-was edged its way towards her. It was tall and clouded in mist. A deep gurgling sound came from its throat. Lu almost fell backwards as she tried to avoid the monster. Perhaps it had not been wise to go through the deep tunnels of the Tower!

Frantically, Lu looked for an escape. To the side of the tunnel was a tiny hollow- she would have passed it by without noticing it had she not been stopped because of the whatever-it-was. Lu grabbed Dot and shoved her into the hole, followed by Lady G. Lu figured that the hollow led to somewhere, and she was even more certain of that when the other two did not complain, but disappeared far from the opening. Or maybe it was just a cave. Oh well, it would get them away form- whatever-it-was- so that they could formulate a plan.

Seeing the beast coming towards her, Lu jumped into the hollow after the others.

War of the Overdoms: Battle at Lovers Lookout

Lady G had read many books involving terrifying shadows and creatures. Let's hope we don't see a giant spider-like creature next, she thought, then shivered with the creepy feeling and wished that had not gone through her mind.

She followed her captors peacefully, for she was light-headed, and saw no other way out of the problem anyways. They kept their weapons pointed at her so that she could not do another maneuver and slip out of their arms again, even if she knew a lot of those tricks.

She leaned back against the wall of the hollow as the beast thundered past. As she did so, she felt something sticking out of the wall behind her back. Wondering what it was, she reached behind her back and fingered it --

It give way with a CLICK behind her back. Then once more she was falling through darkness as the trapdoor slammed shut behind her, and the thought going through her head -- I should have known.

She landed on some sort of trampoline which managed to cushion her fall to some extent, so that she was not knocked out this time. She got to her feet -- a bit more slowly than usual -- and immediately began to head down another dark corridor. No doubt her very intent captors would be after her shortly.

Lady G knew she was unarmed except for the quiver, and it had been damaged in her first fall. An idea went through her head. Quickly taking it off, she prepared it in her hand like a baseball bat. There were a few half-arrows in it as well that Lucy seemed to have not taken. Sharp edges, she thought. They could still be useful.

She moved away down one of at least six in a maze of tunnels, comforted only by the thought of fictional characters who had been in other situations like this. Her vision, naturally, was impaired down here, although, being that she was an elf, not as badly as it could be.

She was not going to let her wannabe captors find her again.

As soon as Lu had gotten into the hollow she had not taken her eyes off of the beast. It lumbered down the tunnel and she shivered, beads of sweat forming on her upper-lip. Her only focus was making sure that the beast got far, far away before she continued down the hallway.

She heard a soft clicking sound, but barely, as the monster was making tons of noise as it bumbled away. Beside her, Dot gasped and Lu swirled around. The monster seemed to be gone, and she was afraid that, perhaps, there was something else in this hollow then them. As soon as Lu saw Dot alone in the tunnel, she panicked.

"Where's Lady G??" she demanded. Dot informed her of the minion's escape, and Lu groaned inwardly. "Great, now we have to catch her again!" Unfortunately, the trap door had firmly closed again. Push as she might, the door wouldn't open. Suddenly Lu had another idea. She pushed her back up against it- hard. Trying to keep from crying out at the throbbing pain that crept up her spine, Lu slipped down the trap door, followed closely by Dot.

Now I need my Gollumolotiphobic medicine and an aspirin . She hoped desperately that Booky would come to the rescue. aspirin in hand. But that was not to be.

"Come on, she can't have gone far!" Lu cried, turning on a small tracking device. She studied the small screen, hoping to get some idea as to where Lady G was going...

War of the Overdoms: Battle at Lovers Lookout
Somewhere deep in the lower sections of the Tower

Lady G carefully tested every step she made before putting her full weight on the floor, hoping she would not get caught by another trapdoor. You're going to break your neck one of these times. She continued to hold the quiver tightly in one hand.

It was almost pitch black. She was thankful for the little amount that she could see as she continued to walk. All around her, she heard nothing except the occasional sound of very faint voices, barking dogs (The Overlord's mutant mutts, probably, she realized), and dripping water somewhere.

Lady G came to a fork in the tunnels. She listened down each one, and hearing nothing in particular, chose the one that seemed to head higher. But after only a few steps it took a drop and went lower so steeply that she backtracked and went down the other tunnel.

This one was taking her upward, if ever so slightly. She forced herself to continue to walk slowly and cautiously. She knew she was going to get somewhere...but where? Into the cave of some monster, probably!

She kept going. Her head was aching but she did her best to ignore it.

Then she came up with an idea. Perhaps if she sent a message to Lady A's feline assistants, they would be able to teleport her elsewhere. . .like to the secret aid station Katana had mentioned through her communicator!

She took out her communicator. "Button? Or Leia? Are you there?" As she waited for the answer, she kept walking -- but not before she set the communicator on "Vibrate". Even though its sound level had been set very low back when she was spying on the wolf and other minion, it had still caused trouble.

The Labyrinth of DOOM

Mountie was pressed flat against the wall. She held her breath as all the mutant mutts thundered past, then whooshed the air out again when the dogs had disappeared. "That was close," she muttered.

"Aw Mountie, wherever did you find such a tiger?" She looked to see her partner, Silvie, totally enamored with the kitten in her arms.

She smiled at Silvie. "He was in the kitchen - lost, I assume. I just had to rescue him from this awful Tower, although he almost got me caught." She laughed and stroked his head. "He needs a name. Any ideas?"

Just then, her communicator chirped with a text message from Lia requesting back-up. Mountie quickly texted back. Lia? This is Mountie. I can come to your aid... do you know where you are?

Then the sound of a voice met her ears, though it was hardly more than an echo. "Button? Or Leia? Are you there?"

Mountie frowned, withdrawing her sword from her sheath. "Who's there?"

The moment Lady G whispered into her communicator, she flinched, because her voice echoed more than she would have liked. She switched the communicator from making sound to just sending written messages.

Then she heard an alarmed voice. "Who's there?" That was accompanied with the sound of something rasping against itself. A sword being drawn from its sheath.

Lady G tensed and pressed herself flat against the wall, looking around, but not seeing anything other than vague shadows. . . .
