War of the Overdoms: Battle at Lovers Lookout - Strike team
A darkened figure made an agile roll across the dry grass to the cover of a shadow, onset by a small brick tower. It was Katana. Clad in her mysteriouos signature black and green light armour consisting of: chainmail, plated leggings, shoulder pads, knee high plated boots and a jerkin. She carried her weapon of choice. A blade-staff that was of her own personal creation. Pulling out her communicator Kat tried to contact Mountie. "Mountie? are you there? what is your position?"

At Lia's question, Lady G shrugged. "I'm afraid I don't know the next step of the plan," she said apologetically. But she had only just managed to say that when Lady A began to call out commands to the troops.
Lady G slipped an arrow onto her bowstring and peered cautiously and carefully with eagle eyes through the shadows. So far she saw no one from the Tower, not yet...

Near the Tower
Mountie watched Silvie bring out the powdered smoke, and waited for Rose to respond. In the meantime, she heard someone else speaking to her from her communicator.
"Hello, Kat," she whispered, leaning in close so she wouldn't make too much noise. "I'm near the tower on a secret mission. Good luck with the battle - I hope our mission succeeds. In fact, it's imperative that the strike team's mission does. I hope things are going well at the Lookout."
Mountie returned to the group. "Something tells me we don't have much time. Would a smoke machine be useful? I always carry one in my cloak. I don't know whether it will work with powdered smoke, but I have one anyway." She grinned. She was enjoying this way too much.

Near the Tower
"Verily," the dryad whispered, "Time is of the essence."
But before taking the bag of powder from Silver, she slipped behind a thicket, then returned leading two gryphons.
"Transport for both of ye, to two areas of the tower," Rose said. "Mountie, Silver, thou both know the mission, and we have much ground to cover in little time. Silver, I ask that ye search the top of the tower for anything that may lead us to accomplish our mission, and Mountie, I ask that thee do the same with the middle-most portion of the dark edifice. I," the dryad finished grimly, "wilt take the basement."
The two quickly mounted the gryphons, and Rose, quickly taking a fistful of powder from the bag, doused them both with the invisibility enchantment. Mountie and Silver, as well as their winged steeds, disappeared into thin air.
"Remember, keep in touch with your communicators, but make sure ye hath set them to vibrate, and only text messages. Keepeth safe, and may we meet again soon, victorious!"
The dryad then sprinkled the powder on herself, and she, too, vanished in the morning mist.

"It's about time," The Grand High Dark Overlord said and swept his finest black hooded cloak from the coatrack. As he slipped it on, he ordered Pilot," Active the secret weapon."
"Very well, sir. Activating the caffeine evaporation beam now."
"You know it's really more like a wave."
"Yes, but beam sounds better. More ... weapon-y."
"True. Anyway, keep out of the Valentine's candy until the battle is over. Don't think I've forgotten what happened after Halloween. It took Tower three weeks to get the sewer lines flushed."
"How could I forget when it is your favorite anecdote to share at the meetings of the Dark Tyrant Guild?"
"Yes, yes, whatever. Beam me down to the drawbridge please and release the Terminators. Standard search protocols, switching over to defensive mode if they locate interlopers."
With all the appropriate light and sounds effects, the Dark Overlord vanished from his office and reappeared in front of the Tower of Shadow and Flame. Pilot had set the Tower's fireballs and darkness settings to battle levels and the air surrounding the tower was an alternating miasma of fire and darkness impenetrable to light.
Pilot helpfully patched the Dark Overlord's communicator into the tower's PA system so all residing within could hear his next words.
"Today is the day we have long looked forward to! A day of perfidy and dirty tricks. Hair-pulling, backstabbing, and sneaking up behind people and pushing them off cliffs! We shall never be conquered! And if we are, we'll wait until they're not expecting it and treacherously break the peace treaty! Go forth and fear no elven sparkles!"
And with that, the Dark Overlord activated his Fistigons and fired a blast of flame into the sky.

From within his coffee, the molecules of caffeine evaporated into the air. Shocked, he saw that only about 1/4 of the cups remained full- and it was full of a clear liquid.
Coffee. Three quarters caffeine, one quarter water and flavoring.
He pondered for a moment- How will the troops remain hydrated without the caffeine? The thought is preposterous.
Then it came to him.
Calling to mind the past semester of Biology, he recalled the water cycle. Water evaporates into the air, and comes back as rain and snow.
Perhaps caffeine had a similar cycle?
He jumped into his sugar-powered-spaceship thing (he found it lying inside this jumble of rocks that stood up in a circle. It was weird.) and flew into the air. From the be-hind of the rocket ship he loaded some C8H10N4O1 (an offshoot of caffeine- but it has different chemical makeup and was thus not evaporated) in attempt to bring back the C8H10N4O2 (caffeine's chemical makeup. This is starting to sound like my biology lessons ).
He released a lever which in turn produced a glaze of C8H10N4O1; this "glaze" flew directly into the ginormous cloud of evaporated caffeine.
He was trying to cloud-seed the caffeine and coax it into raining back down to earth.
A wild (literally- those drops of caffeine ARE 'A SO CRAZAY!) rain began.

The Gremlin Hunters of NarniaWeb (GHNW)
The Battle Begins
The she-wolf ran as fast as her legs could carry her out of the valley, and the wild raven followed her. He brought her news that was as terrible as war itself... the gremlins were invading! The journey seemed to take forever... but at last! Sometime in the middle of the night they made it to Spare Oom.
"At last! We hath made it!" the wolf cried out.
"Indeed we have." The raven replied gravely as he perched on a tree.
The air was gravely still, and the place was so quiet it was as if it had been abandoned. Severed power lines sparked a few yards away.
"Come on! We hath no time for rest. Zere is work to be done!" With that the wolf walked down the road aways and then stoped as she came to an old abandoned shed. She sniffed the air carefully... "It's safe! Come on.”
The raven flew over head and circled a few times before perching on the wolf’s shoulder. “I suppose this will have to do for now… It’s not much of a headquarters though.”
"Aye, but ‘tis only temporary…Did you finish ze notice?”
“I did.”
…And the raven posted a piece of paper on the door that said,
Attention! Gremlin Hunters Needed! We are building an island far away from these lands to relocate the problem gremlins too… Please help, we need construction workers and hunters. If you are interested contact the one who goes by, “Wolf” immediately!
*******
Somewhere far away in TNEC (The Non-Existent Channel) the alpha gremlin was plotting with his followers…
“We have done well, my friends, very well indeed… But now there’s a rebellion forming, somewhere in Spare Oom. We must defeat them, and when we do nothing will stop us from total domination and annihilation!”
At this the gremlins cheered.
The war had begun…

Kat made her way through the terrain of towers, field and forest. Eventually she found a crescent shaped piece of freestanding stone wall. A.K.A.- the point where she was to rendevous with....herself. stealthily padding over to the wall she pulled out a loose brick, and the proceeded to heave out and entire section of the wall. Inside was a stash she had made when she first heard about the battle. Some of the supplies was provisions and medical supplies. But then she got to the good stuff. Pulling out 3 huge crates she opened them up. Inside where many of the bladed weapons from the armoury. As well as a few of her own creations of war and several hand guns and some larger guns including several bazooka's. She pulled out her communicator and sent out a message to allCastle of Ivory and Gold soldiers and allies:" I have set up an outpost near the tallest tower that faces north. There are medical, provisional, and weaponry reinforcements if you should so need them. Look for the cresent wall. I hope this is of service to you all. Good luck"
Kat then pulled her hood up once again and after replacing the section of wall she ducked off to find her starting position for the battle.

War of the Overdoms: Battle at Lover's Lookout - Strike Team
In the Air
Mountie found that being invisible really was most convenient - and amusing, since she had never been invisible before.
Once Rose had sprinkled the powdered smoke over her and the gryphon, they had taken off into the moist air and flew a good distance above the ground. Mountie had never flown on a gryphon before - invisible or not. She stroked the gryphon's back absentmindedly as the morning air slapped her cheeks. "I wonder if you perhaps have a name," she said to herself.
The gryphon quite surprised her by turning his head and opening his mouth. "My name is Philip."
Mountie sat back in surprise, then tried to contain her laughter. The line sounded somewhat familiar. Perhaps she had acquired a movie-quoting gryphon.
It didn't take them long to reach the tower. Philip stopped right outside a window, and Mountie realized this was the only way she could enter. The window was wide open.
"Wait here, okay?" She told Philip in a quiet whisper, slowly easing herself through the opening.
The gryphon gave a solemn nod. "As you wish."
Mountie again stifled her laughter, and ducked inside the Tower. She was immediately greeted with the scent of sulfur and fire. She wrinkled her nose just as her communicator buzzed with a text message from Katana. She glanced at the screen, then nodded decisively. Good to know, she thought.
Mountie was enjoying her invisibility so much that she decided to make a little trouble while she was at it. She walked through the halls until she came to something she had NOT expected to see - a taco stand. A man stood there grimly with a nametag reading "Taco Master." A smile was nowhere to be found on his stoic face.
It seems that since my absence, the minions of the Dark Overlord have acquired a love for tacos, she thought grimly, glancing at the Taco Master. Well, he's a serious chap, isn't he? I might as well brighten his day. At the moment, she had no appetite for any food, tacos or otherwise. So she danced over to the taco stand and started sprinkling his taco meat in the air, where it landed rather unceremoniously on the ground.
"What in the--?" the Taco Master asked, but he was speaking to thin air. Mountie had disappeared down the hall, leaving him to wonder what in the Tower had happened.

Near the Tower
Becoming invisible is a most curious sensation, thought Silver as the powdered smoke blew all over her. It felt wet on her skin, but when she touched her clothes, they felt perfectly dry. She watched in fascination as her skin, clothing, and rapier - as well as the gryphon beneath her - vanished into thin air. She had to stroke the gryphon's back to make sure it was still there. She heard the sound of beating wings and a rush of wind blew across her face; one of her companions was already airborne, but whether it was Rose or Mountie, she couldn't tell.
"Well, thou heard Rose," she whispered to her gryphon. "Let us make for the battlement."
A heartbeat later, she felt the wings of the giant beast lifting her into the sky. The ground dropped away alarmingly fast - even more so alarming when she could see nothing to indicate exactly what was carrying her away. She hunched down lower, grabbing hold of the gryphon's mane of fur and feathers. They rose above the trees and continued to fly higher. Gradually, the world came into view, spread out before her like a map. At one end was the Castle, cloaked in a veil of multicolored smoke. Near the middle, she saw the bluff where the main battle was to take place. Figures milled about below. Were they comrades or enemies? She couldn't tell. The Tower was opposite from the Castle. Silver had only seen pictures and heard stories of its Shadow and Flame. To finally see it for real - surrounded by a fearsome cloak of fire and darkness - was not exactly a welcome sight. She shuddered at the thought of venturing inside.
But still, she and her gryphon flew steadily closer. If they were visible, Silver imaged that the pair of them would look something like this:
As they flew through the miasma, the world darkened. The unpleasant oder of sulfur wafted from somewhere below. Silver squinted as her eyes adjusted to the dimness. Her gryphon circled around the top of the tower a few times before alighting gracefully to the tower's pinnacle.
When she heard a growl, she spun around in alarm to find that she was not alone. On the other side of the tower's top, a beast glared in her general direction, its hideously large teeth bared. Ugh! thought Silver. What IS that thing? One of the Wyrm's mutant mutts? Although the mutt couldn't see her, she didn't underestimate its sense of hearing or smell.
She spied a trap door, leading down into the bowels of the Tower. Perfect! she thought. But there was just one problem. The mutant mutt was standing on it.

Tower Nerve Center
Pilot punched a few buttons, idly scanning the interior of the Tower for intruders. Instead of wacky invisibility hijinks, what caught his attention was the massive stash of leftover Valentine's candy currently sitting on the Buffet.
"Well, it's not as if there's anyone here to tell me I can't look at it," Pilot reasoned, his attention irresistibly captured by large red packages of multitudinous varieties of chocolate. "Or just try a piece. Or two."
Within a few seconds, the only activity in the Nerve Center was munching noises and crazed sugar-high laughter. The Tower was vulnerable for invasion.

The Battle Begins
Zigbot, the alpha gremlin, had moved into his secret room after the meeting... He would have to deal with the wolf, but that could wait until later. He had no doubt that the Gremlin Hunters would be an easy problem to tackle, just a pebble in the road. Afterall there were so few of them... and his army easily outnubered them by factors of hundreds. At the moment however... he had other plans.
The mapkeeper and a few other council members came in...
"What took you so long?!" He yelled. Then at last they got to work...
But they were not entirely alone... Silently watching them, perched just outside of the window, was the raven, Benciark as he was known by his own species. He was aware of everything, ready to flee at any moment... What are they doing? He thought to himself They're planning an attack! What's that a map of? He squinted his eyes and reluctantly shifted his position... at last he could read what it said...
The Ditto Town Laboratory
Oh no... He thought, as he flew off. But as he did he didn't see the guards below him... and they certainly saw him...

War of the Overdoms: Battle at Lover's Lookout
Lady Courage enjoyed the odd sensation of being teleported, then enjoyed the odd sight of Pippin hovering beside her. He looked so... So like something out of "Get Smart". Sorta. Or maybe more like a 1930s sci-fi. Or maybe both! It was hard to tell, but whatever he resembled, it was amusing in its own right.
The bow in her hand was smooth and familiar, but at the same time there was so much that was new around her. Overall, she was enjoying herself very much. Having grabbed a "More Than a Square Meal" bar (of which she had a hefty stash in her saddle bags), the bars being packed with nutritious and energy giving hemp hearts, she was not hungry or very tired. So the caffeine in the coffee Frazzle was peddling did not appeal to her much, but she gladly took a mocha because she just liked the flavor. She took a sip, then gestured Pippin towards her.
"Let's try it out, shall we?"
Pippin wagged his tail with a grin, "Sure!"
Lady C strung her bow, and now it could be seen that she had done something to the wood. There were faintly glowing designs etched in the wood, so shallow that there was only a faint indention where they were located. It gave the bow a strikingly distinctive and ethereal look. Whatever instruction manual Lady C had found to follow, it seemed to have been a good one.
Whipping an arrow out of the quiver slung on her back, Lady C gestured with it's tip away from those gathered beside Lady A. "Over there Pip, so no-one gets hurt."
Pippin wagged his tail and zipped smoothly to the indicated area, stopping and hovering about 3 feet off the ground. Lady C fitted the arrow to the string, lovingly caressing the blue and brown feathers as her fingers slipped down the shaft. As they passed the fletching, the tip on the arrow suddenly began to glow and pulse with energy. With a small smile, Lady C pulled back the string and released it smoothly and quickly. The arrow shot forward, flashed across the ground- and pinged off Pippin's force field.
Lady C laughed, "It worked!"
Pippin looked both pleased and sullen at the same time, "You might have told me you were going to shoot at me. What if the force field hadn't worked? You might have killed me!"
"No, I wouldn't," grinned Lady C, shaking her head, "These arrow tips are not sharp enough to hurt anyone, except for maybe a bruise. It's the electromagnetic pulses that can be set to different levels that would hurt. Currently, it is only on 'sting', which is the default setting. The way to change the settings is not obvious, so if anyone else tries to use my arrows it is unlikely they will do anything worse than sting their target.
"I assure you Pip, if your force field had failed, it would be better to find that out with a sting than with something worse."
Pippin must have found this logic to be sufficient, because he simply did not reply. After a moment's pause, however, he asked, "So, do you just lose all the arrows after you shoot them?"
Lady C sighed, "Well, for now, yes. Hopefully I'll be able to make some adjustments before our next battle." She moved over to her mocha and absentmindedly took a sip. The flavor made her blink with astonishment and she peered into the cup curiously. Before she was able to make any assumptions as to why it had suddenly lost its zing and a good amount of its volume, a strange and marvelous rain began to pelt her head. She flung an arm up and above her noggin with an exclamation of surprise and distaste, gazing up at the sky as best she could. She could see the sugar-powered airplane zipping around and the cloud of vapor that was discharging a downpour of itself.
"What is going on?" she growled as the liquid dripped into her eyes and mouth. Suddenly she stiffened, as something strong shot through her veins and her hands started shaking. She looked down into her cup again, which was beginning to fill up slowly. Lifting it to her lips she sipped- and the replacement of that previously missing zing told her what was falling from the sky.
Never before has Lady C had a problem with shaking after drinking caffeine, but this was like a major shot of caffeine energy drink blasting through her body. It was possibly exhilarating, but actually, Lady C was concerned about the effects the concentrated caffeine might have on her mind...

Dot listened to the Grand High Dark Overlord's message with some fear and trepidation but also with ever-increasing excitement. We're going to war already? Bring it on! After I get a weapon to defend myself with.... Dot turned to Boe and Izzy. "So, do either of you know where the weapons are kept?" she asked.
