Two miniscule legs appear over the edge of the Ditto Town Fountain, and then a pin-sized head, and two more legs, and a body… and a final pair of legs clasping a note tightly. The exhausted cricket collapses in a heap on the Fountain wall, too tired for once to announce his presence with melody.
The note unrolls, and can be read by any passing eyes.
Citizens of Ditto Town: Admins, Mods, Host, Residents, and Ghosts,
A threat approaches your fair town, a fate more horrible even than murder by enchanted mod. All must band together to defeat it.
You will need a Worthy Weapon. Such a weapon has been supplied and now rests in its crate before the Inn Between. Unfortunately, having been supplied by Ikea, it has some assembly required.
A whimsical factory worker, a fellow lover of Narnia, has named the parts after Narnian characters. They slot into a straight row, but you must determine their correct order, or the machine will not work properly. The whimsical factory worker has been very whimsical, and instead of simply giving you a list, he has provided you with the following clues.
The Other Lion always wants to be next to Aslan
Reepicheep doesn’t like being cuddled, so he’s three away from Lucy
Peter will always watch over his youngest sister closely
Edmund, Reepicheep, and Peter are arranged by height
Caspian is loaning Eustace his sword
Jewel is flanked on either side by a queen and a heroine of Narnia
Aslan breathes on Caspian
Lucy is the first into Narnia
Jill can’t see Eustace because Puddleglum is so tall
Susan must have gotten over her fear of mice
Lucy stays as far as she can get from The Other LionCan you assemble the Worthy Weapon in time?
The Madcap Minstrel
Oooh a puzzle even a ghost can do!

We have hands that fashion and heads that know,
But our hearts we lost - how long ago! -- G. K. Chesterton
Eeek, what a busy night!
Hmmm... when it says Reepicheep is "three away" from Lucy, do you think that means there are three in between them, or two in between them and Reep is the third?
You can call me Willow if you want to.
I don't know, Willow. I'm just trying to make sure I have all the characters at the moment...
The biggest problem is that it doesn't work without putting Peter on the other side of Lucy--I think--and yet Lucy "is first into Narnia"
Other than that I feel happy about my list?

What about "Edmund, Reepicheep, and Peter are arranged by height"? Shouldn't that mean the three of them are together?

Movie Aristotle, AKA Risto
Ooooooh! A puzzle!
Other Lion (who is close to)
Aslan (who is breathing on)
Caspian (who is giving his sword to)
Eustace (who can't be seen by Jill because)
Puddleglum (is too tall)
Jill (is a heroine flanking)
Jewel (who is also flanked by)
Susan (who doesn't fear)
Reepicheep (who is shorter than)
Edmund (who is shorter than)
Peter (who is watching out for)
Lucy (who is first and also three away from Reepicheep)
And I see Movie Aristotle got it just before me! *claps as she floats about*
Or at least, I think we got it. Did we?
Abraham Lincoln the Cricket, who has been softly strumming the "Jeopardy" theme as the denizens of Ditto Town deliberate, now bursts into a triumphant rendition of "Hail to the Chief" to celebrate their successful unwinding of the riddle.
A new note floats down from a seemingly empty sky and settles by the Fountain.
Congratulations! You have successfully assembled your Worthy Weapon, which happens to be the Valiant Vacuum of Visage's Vantage. Its special power is sucking up Green Mist that threatens to obscure one's view.
And just in the nick of time... for the first tendrils of Green Mist are even now descending upon the Forum! All will be lost if it is allowed to obliterate our carefully tended threads.
To effectively use the vacuum, we must substantively post in the first two non-sticky threads of each sub-forum. Ladies and Gents, this is your mission, should you choose to accept it. Fair winds and following sails!
The Madcap Minstrel
I vacuumed up Cast and Characters! They should be safe for now.
You can call me Willow if you want to.
And I have vacuumed up the RG!
Some days you battle yourself and other monsters. Some days you just make soup.
Talk about Narnia is good now, I think.
Sorry, Valiant, I didn't mean to usurp your posts in RG. I happened to be posting there anyway, and didn't get it right away.
Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away ... my days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle
Oh, and I posted in a thread in GMD. I'm just too tired to post substantively in another thread, though.

I finished up in GMD... it's safe. But Costumes and Merchandise still look quite vulnerable, and I'm afraid I'm the wrong person to say much of any substance in there. Any volunteers!?
You can call me Willow if you want to.
aileth, don't worry about it at all! I'd actually already posted in everything in the RG, so I didn't have all that much to say. I'm glad you went in and posted!

A worried-looking cricket hops to the very top of the Ditto Town Fountain, finding a dry lip above the point where water spills over the edge. As loudly as possible, he begins playing the theme from "Jaws" to alert his fellow citizens to impending danger. Once he has the full attention of the assembled crowd, he jumps up and points to Ye Old Costume Shoppe bordering the square. To their horror, the assembled crowd sees that GREEN MIST is pouring from the windows and doors of the shop. The cricket takes a flying leap and lands on the Valiant Vacuum and jumps up and down on it frantically, but he is too small to operate it on his own.
