BREAKING NEWS: Georgie passes her GCSEs with eight A*s and two As!

A TEENAGE star of the Chronicles of Narnia films has overcome a gruelling filming schedule to register eight A*s and two A grades at GCSE.

Georgie Henley, 16, who lives in Ilkley and studies at Bradford Grammar School, said: “I’m feeling really, really happy. I’ve worked so hard and I am just glad the hard work has paid off.

“I can’t wait to come back to Bradford Grammar School for sixth form.”

The award-winning actor received her A* grades in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, History, Latin and Russian, with A grades in English Literature and Maths.

She played Lucy Pevensie in the movie adaptations of the C.S Lewis fantasy series - The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Stephen Davidson, head teacher at Bradford Grammar said: “We are delighted to see Georgie do so well. She settled in well to the school and has been an ambassador for her family and the school.”

Not only has Georgie had to take time off from school for filming but she has also had to publicise the films and attend premieres all over the world.

On my Skandar & Georgie Tumblr, I created a post about the Narnia stars and the GCSEs, but except for Georgie specifically - and Anna and Skandar generally - I really don't know how the others did on their GCSEs. But the post does give links to explaining the GCSEs and A-levels in the UK.

In other news, it looks like Georgie's been cast alongside Abigail Breslin as 2 sisters in the 2012 film "The Class Project." Don't know if it's officially confirmed yet since only Abigail's name is listed on IMDB.

Teen extras sought for local film shoot

A film production is looking for teenage extras for a film featuring Little Miss Sunshine star Abigail Breslin.

Teens aged 16 to 19 are needed to appear in the background of scenes for the film Class Project. Filming is taking place at a local high school.

Class Project is described in a press release as "the true story of two Mississauga sisters...who developed and executed a plan to drown their alcoholic mother in a bathtub." Along with Breslin, it stars Georgie Henley of The Chronicles of Narnia.

Registration of volunteers is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 130 Nassau Street North.

Volunteers must be available for filming between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, with lunch and refreshments provided. Extras should bring along textbooks, binders, backpacks, iPods, cell phones and other items they'd normally bring to school, and to dress in school-appropriate clothing for spring or fall.

EVERYONE: Georgie doesn't appear on the IMDb page for "The Class Project" yet. But her role in the film as younger sister Beth has been confirmed through a cast dinner photo posted by co-star Zoe Belkin on her Twitter. "The Class Project": Mira Sorvino and Rusty Schwimmer joined the cast. Sorvino will play Abigail Breslin and Georgie Henley's alcoholic mother! I like Sorvino because she has class. I loved "At first sight" with Val Kilmer. The casting of Sorvino and Schwimmer, along with Abigail and Georgie, seriously raises the stakes for this movie! I'm glad to see that Georgie is taking a serious role with serious actors, even if I don't particularly like the movie or her role in it. This is a far cry from Anna and William at this point. Neither has done anything significant post-Narnia. "Captain Planet" and "Totally Tom" seem silly and beneath them as actors. And "A Great Education" - Will, Emma Roberts, and Ben Kingsley - isn't getting off the ground.
