Ben Barnes is a great actor...but Caspian is supposed to be blonde!!! He's supposed to have blonde hair!!
They did it to Lucy, too, and it seems to happen in lots of book to film adaptations. They make awesome blonde characters into brunettes for some reason, and it's very disheartening to us blondes! We get stuck being cast as ditzes and villains. I think Rillian should be blonde, though, if they make that film. It would be nice for him to look like his mom.
I don't know how I feel about the decision to lose the accent. Everyone is going to wonder why it's gone and think the director forgot to use it or something. I could understand them lessening the accent, but not switching it completely. It's going to make my continuity monitor very unhappy. Unless, of course, they mention his accent shift in the film. That way the general audience knows it was a choice and not a mistake.
Ben really portrayed the role well. His accent amazed me, it was cute. I haven't seen Ben though in other roles.

Ben will be returning to stage play from September on. He's going to play the lead role in 'Birdsong'. Hope I can make it there by the end of September to see him
British film star Ben Barnes will return to the stage to star as Stephen Wraysford in the world premiere stage version of Sebastian Faulks’ Birdsong, according to today’s Daily Mail. The adaptation of the best-selling 1993 novel, directed by Trevor Nunn, will have a limited season from 29 September 2010 at the West End’s Comedy Theatre.
Part of Faulks’ trilogy which also comprises The Girl at the Lion d’Or and Charlotte Gray, Birdsong centres on Stephen Wraysford (Barnes) who, while staying as the guest of a factory owner in pre-war France, embarks on a passionate affair with Isabelle, the wife of his host. The affair changes them both forever.
A few years later Stephen finds himself back in the same part of France, but this time as a soldier at the Battle of the Somme, the bloodiest encounter in British military history. As his men die around him, Stephen turns to his enduring love for Isabelle for the strength to continue and to save something for future generations.
I'm glad Ben is returning to the stage and staying away from some films in the meantime I wish I lived in England so I can see him. Birdsong sounds familiar, I just don't know about the story though.

I don`t know how continuity concerning his accent will fit into the picture because that was Disney`s thing and now its Fox. So no more spray on tans or hair extensions not that I worry about such things.
I hoping for a stronger performance in VDT since he has had a lot more movie acting experience. There`s great potential here since the story has quite a few emotional moments. I look forward to seeing him behave chivalrously and protective toward Lucy. The two didn`t really interact much in PC. Caspian didn`t interact much with Edmund either. I look forward to their bond as well.
Also, has anyone seen Ben in the 2009 Dorian Grey movie? I can`t say I like the movie. It`s too dark and gruesome. I had to fast forward quite a bit because I found some of the movie`s material to be inappropriate . However, Ben`s acting was pretty good. I enjoyed his performance. Although things got pretty weird toward the film`s end. I would never watch it again.
Ben looked like he may have gotten tanned before shooting the movie. In some of the stills and the scene in the trailer he looked tan.
As far as Lucy and Caspian not interacting in PC at all, that's AA mistake right there for not giving any of the characters real development except for the bad Telmarines pretty much.
I will say that I despise the movie Dorian Gray with a huge passion. But you should check out Easy Virtue. It's a tiny bit inappropriate and I don't very much care for Jessica Biel that much but the movie itself is downright hilarious.
Long Live King Caspian & Queen Liliandil Forever!

I've seen Dorian Gray, but didn't like it, either. A little less violence and a bit more carefulness in telling the story would have got us a way better movie. Not Ben's fault, though, the script just wasn't the best one.
I like Ben's performance in Bigga Than Ben. And I'm looking forward to seeing him on stage in September. And we'll see how Locked In will be turning out.

Absolutely!
I want to see Bigga Than Ben so bad Another one of Ben's movies that I'm looking forward to is Killing Bono. i love the time that it is set in, a great rock era. I can't wait!!!
I'm a little suspicious about Locked In, the tralier sort of reminds me of another Dorian Gray type movie.

I love Ben Barnes, i think he is an outstanding actor!! i have not seen Dorian Gray but i want to sooooo bad, i read the book after i found out he was going to play that role, and loved it! i dont think there is anyone else on this planet that was suppose to play Caspian but him!! i wish him the best, and cant wait to see him in other movies:D
Ben Barnes is really a great one. Haven't seen him in any other specific movies but he sounds great from the way you guys portray it. Go Go Go Ben!

Ben Barnes seems to be that type of person that will put a smile on everyone's faces. I too love his new look. I also hope that he'll continue to do some family/comedy movies. I don't very much care of his recent stuff, I like him better as the funny, family oriented actor more. Killing bono I will wait and see what his character is like. It looks funny so far.
Ben is the type of person who can put a smile on your face he is a really talented actor, but do not judge Dorian Gray by the movie, read the book it is really good. i was scared that they had changed alot in the movie, but that is not Bens falt, i am such a fan a the book i just hope i am not disappionted in the movie.
I could have sworn a few weeks ago I thought I saw him in some Maybelline (dont know if I spelled that right) New York makeup commercial advertising alongside some blonde woman promoting the makeup and he was in it as her love interest. I don't know but it really looked like him. I saw it on the CW channel.
