What is this treason you speak against your queen and against her most loyal Knave. Just as soon as I can track down the queen your head will be as good as gone!!!

Oh, but the Red Pretender Queen is not here! Thus, there's no one to order my head removal. What shall you do now, foul Knave? You are helpless in the bright and cheerful land, far from the glooms of the Red Queen's court and the slinking slimy Jabberwock.

However as I am one of the ruling of this section, I suggest you cease and desist your miscreant behavior or I shall be forced to call for the sherriffs and evict you all! :p

Nope. The sherriffs! The NarniaWeb version!

And now... we mark the end of April Fools as April 1 has come and gone. Please resume the actual topic of this thread which is Ben Barnes in his role as Caspian and whatever else is listed in the first post on this thread. :)

":3o0nq4ey]Does anyone know if they are going to pull back on Caspian's accent for this film? It was so thick in PC that it was distracting... and in my opinion just plain annoying. /:)

Whether people loved his accent or not it is now his signature voice for the character, even though it is a stolen accent from The Princess Bride. I cant help but laugh at that. In my opinion I thought the accent was okay and great at some moments in the movie. The only part I didn't like with the accent was when he shouted "Peter!"
My friend and I who watched it in theaters we almost fell backwards in our seats at that part.
All in all I think Ben will continue his accent no matter what the crew suggests to him. Actor's love to keep their signature within a character they portray.

I think he really needs to keep the accent. Reepicheep already has a different voice. We don't need 2 major voice changes in VDT imo.
Besides, I personally loved the accent :D :D :D

^I really, really, really hope they keep the accent, it was fantastic in PC. It made Narnia feel more like a real world. I really didn't think it was any more distracting than the british accents of the Pevensie children in the first film (yes this is an american talking) when they first talk you're like "Oh they have an accent" and then you quickly forget it and enjoy the movie.

I think his acting was very good and he fit the role of Caspian perfectly.

Yes but the thing that gets some people is that Caspian was supposed to have a British Accent. I don't believe in that personally but I do believe that the Archenlanders should.
CS Lewis basically said that the Telmarines were pirates when they came into Narnia and most pirates back in the day were from Spain. So I do not blame Adamson for getting Spanish people for the Telmarines. And Ben did the right thing for his accent. Better then BBC I'll say!

I don't recall Lewis ever saying that he had a british accent. I think people just assume that because the author and pevensies were british.

I agree with you, Damsel, Archenlanders should have the "English" accent handed down from the first king and queen (improbable in our world that it wouldn't have changed over time, but maybe in Narnian air the language is untarnished?).
Caspian doesn't have to be the same, but could be, depending on where his pirate ancestors came from. In PC they were Spanishy, but I suspect that accent will be played down or lost in VDT (for directorial rather than linguistic reasons ;) ).

Looking forward to hearing Ben in this role again!

There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.
