Let's hope to see two great Narnia films between 2026 and 2028!

If you aren’t excited about it, that’s your opinion, your choice, and your privilege. But don’t accuse me of being a hypocrite or a liar.

I wasn't accusing you of being a hypocrite or a liar, and I'm sorry if what I wrote came across in that way. I was just genuinely curious as to where you're getting your sense of certainty that Greta Gerwig "is" doing or "will" do this or that in terms of her Narnia adapatation(s) being true to the spirit of the books.

Most people commenting on this project tend to use a lot of qualifiers like "I think..." or "Going by what she's said in interviews..." and so on, simply because so few definite details of Gerwig's plans have been publicly revealed or confirmed. And the little we do know so far is, to a lot of Narnia fans, more disquieting than reassuring, as many others in this forum community have explained in their own posts in a whole lot of discussions.

But your own opinions are likewise your choice and your privilege, as is whether or not you care to explain them when somebody asks, so there we are.

"Now you are a lioness," said Aslan. "And now all Narnia will be renewed."

Thank you, and I’m sorry for my frustration. I’m honestly excited to see a film adaptation of THE MAGICIAN’S NEPHEW because there’s never been a film adaptation of the original novel yet, as neither BBC nor Walden Media could find the time nor the finances to produce a film adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ first book in the chronicles.

Gerwig has the directing skill to do this and do this well. My issue with it, in addition to the voice of Aslan debate, is the time line shift. If you go to the timeline of the books in chronological order, it shifts and changes the framework the children are raised in. It changes their word choices and frames of reference which alters motive and the reason behind their desire to seek Aslan in the books. Skipping ahead to the Silver Chair, what makes the Experiment House so "experimental"? What makes Eustace's parents method of raising him so modern if it's moved after LWW which would be in the 1990s - 2000s era? Would kids from that era really follow the signs that Aslan gave them? Would they take talking animals seriously? Would they think they're on some sort of virtual reality trip on the level of Doctor Who?

I don't hold out a lot of hope for this because of the change in the time frame and the shifts in the story that have been implied. I hope there are some people out there who enjoy it. It just doesn't make any sense to me.
