Seeing animals in the wild would definitely make one's day.

-watching my kids play and not fight

I've read a few of the posts and it reminded me of a few small things that make me happy.
-reading a good book
-just sitting outside and listening to nature
-after a tiring day sitting alone and listening to soft music
-drawing
-sports
-watching a fire burn
-the smell of specific candles
-the smell of rain
-the smell of the ocean
-watching th waves crash on the shore
-naps

Oh, this! I often think that being so tired your brain feels like a cottonball can honestly add a lot when listening to some music genres. 
I've been compiling a "Tired But Not Sleepy" playlist for a while now just for those times.

Getting my Bodleian Reader card (Oxford University library) and having access to +3 million items, as well as to all of the historic reading rooms. I've been looking forward to this for years.

Gasp! I had no idea!
One of the things that made my day today, and might raise a johobbit smile, is finding a nice little readymade salad at the small supermarket across the road from home. Mmm. Ah, and some hot cross buns! Anticipation of eating them both starting tomorrow!
