Wow, I haven't been here in awhile! Well, not true... I've been reading what you guys have been saying. I just haven't been posting.
Anyway... hmm... things that make me smile:
Recently:
when any of the Arndt boys send me a message through email or facebook.
3 Ninjas and Goonies were on tv! (why I watch them on tv when I own them is beyond me!)
E.T. was on tv the other night... without commericals!
As lame as it may sound, watching shows on Disney, and Disney XD.
watching Alphas and Warehouse 13 on monday nights (two awesome SyFy shows)
The normal happy things:
When my writer's block leaves for awhile.
When I get tons of new graphics ideas!!!
screencapping things to make said graphics!
seeing my pile of old papers to scan, shrinking!
The thing that had me all giddy with excitement a few weeks ago:
The 14th Annual Safe at Home Softball Classic!!
(aka me getting to watch some softball, eat pizza, and see/joke around with friends that I only see once a year!)
And the one that has me all giddy with excitement this week:
Breath of Soul is gonna have a concert by me on friiiidaaayyyy!!!
It's been several days, I'm allowed back in here!
Anyway...
Something that makes me feel really good, because I know it's making people I love, happy: when people "like" their music pages on facebook. and/or become fans of them. You can't imagine what it's like to say to some good old friends of mine... guys I consider my little brothers, "So, I was bragging about you again. And now you have a few new fans, some of which want to buy your music."
I mean, I'm already gushing with pride that two of "my" boys... two of "my freshmen" (from my senior year) are starting to make it big in the music biz. I always knew they were talented, everyone around us knew it. We even joked about how they'd make it big and we could say "We knew them when...". But to see it actually coming true?! And to know that I have a small part in that, just by spreading word about them to my friends? And that people respond positively to them? There aren't words for that feeling... there just... there aren't words.
So to any of you out there that are a part of this... that are looking into Breath of Soul and Blake's music. Thank you... from the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of the boys... THANK YOU!
Staying up late watching movies on TCM with my siblings.

Hearing that a friend of mine had her first baby!
Thinking on days past, even if it makes me cry.
And tying into that...
watching old B.I.G. Choir "concerts" on video. (yes, I said VIDEO)
Highlights that never fail to bring about a case of the giggles:
2000 (the first)
Davey singing "Oh Happy Day" (a lot of that has to do with an inside joke)
The group singing (complete with actions!!!) "Angels Among Us" and "My God".
The 1st time we sang "Go Light Your World" (just five of us, a cappella... in unison)
Watching my solo and seeing how much I've improved. (and seeing how BORED Davey looks while playing drums for me... only to get really animated after it's over )
2001 (second annual)
Reprising our performance of "My God", since we love it... and we had more people. And having it followed by another Sister Act song.
2002 (third annual)
Having Larry Carter there to sing with us and be our "master of ceremonies".
Singing the "Fiddler on the Roof" medley (complete with a minor costume change!)
Singing "What the Lord Has Done in Me", and having the performance track quit on us... but we kept going a cappella! (yeah, we rocked it! yeah, we're professionals!)
Me singing Mark Lowry's "Mame" parody... "Mom", complete with a dance routine made up by a friend!
2003 (fourth annual/final)
Bringing back "our" ( ) song... "Go Light Your World" for a final time... and having all nine of us bawling. (in parts this time, and had a performance track playing)
Seeing our faces when they asked for an encore, when we're all obviously crying our eyes out. And how we did it anyway, and sounded AWESOME! ("What the Lord Has Done in Me")
More growing up in B.I.G. Choir memories:
-Davey and I antagonizing each other on multiple occasions.
-Having members come and go, with the core five remaining no matter what.
-In high school... Heidi's phone going off, and she answers it to say "Sorry, I can't talk. I'm at practice".
-Forming a sibling type bond that will last the test of time.
-Having that intuitiveness that was always "on" when singing. One spontaneously trying something for fun, and the rest automatically adjusting without a word... without looking at each other. Just standing side by side... singing as one.
-Seeing us physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and musically change as time passes.
-My sister and them planning (and throwing) a surprise birthday party for me in our basement.
-Having Amy and David's house be the first stop we made when my sister got her driver's license on my birthday. ("I got my license... wanna take a ride?")
-Watching Sister Act together at Anna's house.
-Davey and the other Amy singing with me at my grandpa's wedding.
-When back in grade school, Amy came up with our name... Believers in God (B.I.G. Choir... get it?)
Annnnd, I better stop there... or we'd be here all night!
Checking off the days until my grandparents come visit.
Listening to music.
Organizing fabric. (I'm totally serious on this one, I really do like organizing things.)

and that's it for now, folks! But I'll be back... I like focusing on the good things. (and it's something I need to do more of ) edited at 10:09pm to add: (those of you that want to see it, it should be posted in the Artists' Haven thread sometime tonight or tomorrow)
-getting to talk to David, even if for a tiny bit on FB.
-when Amy Lynn told me she'd be home this weekend!
-Amy Lynn saying she misses it too, and that she's "in" on the whole Reunion Concert idea!
-FINALLY (after a day or so) figuring out how to draw mountains. I can make my McGee picture I'd been planning!!!

Seeing Glenstorm online again.
Also, seeing Volkswagen vans brightens my day, and watching a great movie with my family does too.
(Getting braces on today was also kind of exciting. But extremely painful. So it's kind of a half-and-half. )
