I got to play card games in Spanish class today. That was fun. I also improved a physics score from 40 to 62, and got 100 on a music quiz!

That's pretty easy - the Packers winning the Super Bowl (YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), Aaron Rodgers getting the MVP award, seeing lots of pictures of him, going to fun rehearsals, seeing old friends . .

I had something that made my day a few days ago! I hope no one takes it as bragging, because as a teacher one gets few of these moments--and I'm certain I deserve even less of them than I get. But a student's dad wrote this in an email to me:
However, from my perspective in watching you teach, I can say that you have a gift for raising the study of music beyond a rehearsed collection of notes and notations. You relate to music as if it were alive and breathing, and teach the students to do the same. That, to us, is a crucial experience that I think the other students would benefit from - and these breakout sessions might be the stimulus for some of them to see their instrument as more than just an instrument.
That made my heart melt.

When I realise my writer's block has ended! (and also when it stays gone for awhile!)
Realising that in one week I will get to see a friend I haven't seen for two years!! I'm so excited he's coming home, and I'd bet his family is too! (I don't have real brothers, and he's always been like a kid brother to me. so I've missed him a lot. and knowing the separation is almost done is.... an indescribable feeling)
So, yeah. Those are the things that have "made my day" lately.
