Why do they even need to change the cover, someone who reads twilight is not likely to be interested in those types of books.

Not necessarily true. I admit to having read and enjoyed Twilight, though far from being masterpieces. Jane Austen is terrific, wonderful pieces of literature that, I agree, should not be mimicking Twilight's covers in the least.

Apparently you hate rain and humid weather :). You would not want to live in Florida!

People not finishing a first draft of a book during NaNo, but still saying they've won. :P
People liking a version of a movie which isn't nearly as good, or follows the book as much as another one. :P Especially Austen. :P
It being December. :( :( :(

Having the bottom priority for class registration and slowly seeing all the classes I need being filled up. :(

Anyone know how I can acquire a frivolous disability to get high priority next semester? ;)

When I have all the right ingredients for a recipe, think it's going fine, but then find out that I didn't pack the cookies densley enough so they came out crumbled and sticky and ugh. And on top of that, I messed up the dipping chocolate, which I generously put on a large number of the cookies.

How wonderful.

As someone who wrote 50k during November but did not finish her novel, I am slightly offended by that.

According to the rules, if you write 50,000 words in the month of November in one novel, you have won regardless of whether you finished your novel.

http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/faq/rules#dontfinish

What if I don’t finish? Or hit 50,000 words but I’m only halfway through my novel?
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? And the 50,000-word goal is a threshold, not necessarily a stopping place. Reaching 50k and realizing you still have a lot of wrapping up to do is a good thing—it gives you something to come back and work on later. You will still win if you reach 50k but have not yet completed your novel.

50k = winning. I have won NaNoWriMo although I didn't finish my novel and I will proudly say that because I did win.

If finishing is required to win, then NaNo would have to have something more than just a 50k word count validator. I could just tack on to the end of my novel "and then a big volcano came up under the bad guys and totally destroyed them and all the good guys lived happily ever after. The end." Would that be a good ending? No way but I would have "finished" my novel.

If you'd done that, you would have written a novel in 30 days, which is the goal of NaNo. :) Then you could go back and edit it, add some scenes if you want (though you shouldn't be planning on that during November).
That's what I believe the point of NaNo is. Personal opinion. I just wouldn't have "won" to myself, or to what my opinion (and my other friends and family members who do it) of what it is, if I hadn't finished my novel in 30 days. :)

Back to topic . . ;)
Um - hopelessness? Doubt, worry, fear, darkness. :(

Wow, wow, wow, wow.
I am kinda speechless about something that I've read today:
What?
Firefighters basically watch a house burn down instead of putting it out, equipment there and everything.
Why?
The homeowner hadn't paid the yearly fee of 75$ prior for the Fire Department.
http://www.firehouse.com/news/top-headlines/tennessee-fire-department-watches-house-burn-again

Considering where I live a big part of the Firefighters is made up of volunteers, this is just X( :-o
Why does something like this happen?

Excuse me, but this seems to be the case: Only in America

Chasing down website bugs all day long and jumping from dev to tech support to dev to tech support and no-one seems to know the problem.

"Ask the devs; it's their problem."

"It's your server. I'm stumped. It can't be the theme. Ask tech support."

"It's your theme. Ask the devs."

"It's not the theme. Check your server. Ask tech support."
