It was certainly a very dirty game. I don't know if I've ever seen that many cards given out in a single match.
Oh man. I need to go lay down now...I have a royal headache from all that tension!

Really Minotaur? You've been following the cup from the beginning, so I don't believe you that you don't know much about soccer.
Oh, I was trying to be as sarcastic as possible in that post. Right down to calling football "soccerball".
Wow, what a physical World Cup Final! The previous record for most yellow cards in a world cup final is six (1986), and during this game I lost count after about twelve. xD At a point I almost had to laugh at the downpour of them - they kept coming in more ridiculous ways. A player mindlessly arguing at the ref and slamming the football on the ground in frustration, another player ripping his shirt off...haha.
YES!! WE WON!!!!!!!
It was the first match I watched since I was a child, and oh, how we all have suffered, at times the tension was almost unbearable. But now we got it, for the first time ever, and you can't imagine what it's been here. Now it's eight in the morning and everything is calm, but last night it was crazy, there were lots of people celebrating in the streets until very very late. This afternoon, when the team arrive in Madrid, it's going to be incredible.
="MinotaurforAslan"A player mindlessly arguing at the ref and slamming the football on the ground in frustration,
Yeah, I remember that. It was right after Spain scored. One of the Dutch players got so frustrated - and I understand it, at that point of the match - that lost control.
another player ripping his shirt off...haha.
I think you may be referring to Iniesta, the player who scored. I thought it was a great touch, because what he was doing was showing the T-shirt he wore under it, and there he had written a dedication to Jarque, a very close friend, another football player who died last year - I think - from a heart attack. I liked it .
Great photo, Kate. The moment we had been waiting for.
That was so sweet what he had written on his shirt. "Jarque, always with us," or something along those lines.

I'm from Holland and I can say the dissappointment is really huge here. But I don't care that much. I would have been nice if Holland had won, but hey, Spain was better and they deserved it too I think the Dutch messed it up with all those yellow cards....stupid..
But anyway.. we've a chance in the European Cup is 2 years
Woot Spain won! That soccer game was awesome! I don't usually get to watch sports b/c I'm the only one in our family who likes them but we have two exchange students from Spain right now so we had to watch it . I got a headache actually b/c I was so tense the whole game . I'm so glad Spain won though- we would have had a bad day if they hadn't .
Iniesta's shirt said: Dani Jarque always with us. That was really sweet, and worth the yellow card he got. I was glad I could read it b/c I know Spanish .
