I'm currently watching DVD releases of earlier-aired TV shows:

The Legend of Korra - it's fun watching season 1 of this show now that some time has passed since it first aired (and faced the inevitable comparisons with its predecessor, Avatar: The Last Airbender). The animation is, on the whole, quite impressive. Our previous criticisms of the storyline still stand but I found them easier to overlook, given the limitations the writers had (they expected only a 12-episode miniseries, resulting in a finale that seemed rushed, especially once they were greenlit for additional seasons).

Gargoyles - Season 2 Volume 2 is finally out on DVD after all these years (it first aired in 1996). It's great to see the unedited episodes that finished off the series. The animation suffers in comparison to later shows like Korra, but for its time it was pretty good. Still recommended after all these years.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

In order to watch something other than Doctor Who (though I must say I have been enjoying the classic episodes), I finally decided to watch Sherlock . I have been liking it so far, just starting Series 2 today. It's hard for me to judge how well adapted it is since I have not read any of the books, but I've liked it as a stand alone show. I have been confused while watching it at times (considering this is a U.K. show, and I don't understand everything that goes on there), but then again, I get confused watching a lot of drama shows anyways, but good thing I can read up on something online.

Well, I finished watching all of "Merlin" and moved on to "Robin Hood" (the British tv series). Really enjoyed it! (cried during the final episode - which is unusual for me)

Finished watching "Twin Peaks" - back during it's original run, it was my weekly dose of weird. I forgot how much comedy was in it - oh, more weirdness by far, but a lot of comedy!

And now, I'm watching "Ugly Betty." I've never seen it before, but the first couple of episodes were good - I hope the goodness continues!

Further up and further in!!

"Twin Peaks" - a lot of fun but also seriously creepy and weird in places. Too much soap opera rubbish for my liking though. Those parts become old quickly.

Mmm...so I watched Doctor Who. Which was a big step for the person who can't hold attention for anything remotely Sci-Fi. (Except the Anakin Star Wars, which seem to actually have had a story to it, but I've since found out that the fans hated it so...that figures why I sat through them. ;) Star Trek? Forget it.) And @ your suggestion WJ4 ... I watched "Blink" and uh, wow. That's all I can say. I really had no idea what it was about, or what I was getting into, so when I sitting alone in my dark home at night desperatly hoping these people don't blink, I was screaming, "What in heck has he gotten me into?!?!".You may have heard it...

But initail oddness aside, it was good. Really good. Very odd. But good. It seems like the stuff nightmares are made of & you can't really compare it to anything. It's just Doctor Who. Only complaint I had is the fact that we saw very little of him. But what I did see was very funny. I'd like to see the Angels Take Manhattan, but right now I'm just watching whatever full episodes I can find on YouTube. I'll be watching some more now...so, cheers!

Haha! I knew Blink would do that to you! Yes, I heard your scream from here. I'm a bit confused about your sci-fi comment, as most sci-fi seems to be more about the story than character-driven. Glad you're enjoying Doctor Who.

Speaking of Doctor Who, recent news says that the BBC will announce the next actor/actress to play the Doctor this weekend.

Recent rumors have been saying that it may be Peter Capaldi who landed the role. What do you all think of that possibility?

Apparently, Peter Capaldi is the exact same age William Hartnell was when Doctor Who first aired. Which means he would be tied in first place as the oldest Doctor in the show's history. Cool, huh?

:DD Squeee! I must go order this. Your frequent mentions of the show were what got me hooked, and I hated having to watch these episodes on Youtube instead of DVD. Maybe this means Disney will also release the last two seasons of the Muppet Show, which have been indefinitely delayed.

We just finished Merlin recently as well. That last episode was a tearjerker. You can tell they meant it to be, but it's still quite emotional. I was very satisfied with it.

Unfortunately, I saw him in Torchwood. I'd never be able to get that character out of my head if he ends up as the Doctor. I hope they go with a different actor honestly. An older doctor would be nice though.

Gazer, I remember Gargoyles. Great series! I'd been holding off from buying it because they didn't release the last part of Season 2. Now, I can get them. If I remember correctly, only the first two seasons are any good, yes? Maybe Animaniacs Volume 4 will finally be released!

Glad to have been of service! Also, the Youtube versions are the edited ones whereas the DVDs are the originals.

It does appear that Disney will use this format (apparently making smaller batches of discs and letting word-of-mouth advertising work in their favor to sell them directly on ebay) for other series - including Animaniacs, volume 4, Warrior (in the US anyway). Now if we could just get Buzz Lightyear of Star Command...

And you are correct, only the first 2 seasons of Gargoyles are any good, though the first episode of season 3 ("The Journey") was written by series creator Greg Weisman and is acceptable. A couple of other Goliath Chronicles episodes are less painful to watch than the rest. ;)) But don't get me started on the animation (A green Lexington?) or characterization (Fox's change from fierce mama-bear type in "The Gathering" to a whimpering mother when Alex is kidnapped in the later series).

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Mm, well I guess that's more what I meant, I enjoyed the more emotional depth that I found while watching Anakin & Obi Wan's seperate struggles with him turnig to the dark side. It wasn't so much "beam-me-up-Scotty/laser-rays/alien-taking-over-the-galaxy" type of stuff. *shrugs* @ least it was to me...hope this is making sense!

Animaniacs huh? I've been watchig them alot lately, along with Doctor Who. (Just finished the 9th (?) Doctors 1st Ep. "Rose" .) But I used to love that show, still do. ;) The 80's & 90's humour never ceases to make me laugh. Gargoyles wasn't really my cuppa tea, however. Someday I'll get around to make a list of favorites... :p

Now if we could just get Buzz Lightyear of Star Command...

Oh my goodness, I'd forgotten about that show! LoL.

The 12th Doctor will be announced in less than 11 hours. He/she will be announced in a live ceremony on BBC with previous Doctors, previous companions, and celebrity fans. Don't miss it, and don't forget to form your own theory as to who the next Doctor might be. ;)
