Terribly cheesy in what way?

Doctor Who - Season 11
As in unrealistic and extremely cliched.
So, it's late, i should be going to bed, but i wanted to jot a few thoughts about the most recent episode of "Once Upon a Time" first.
I'll start by saying that
The Canadian promo (why didn't we get that in the States?) strongly suggests that Neal is also Peter Pan, or at least the equivalent in this universe; and the US promo suggests the writers aren't done putting him through the wringer yet. I have a tremendous amount of sympathy for him, and hope things work out well for him.
Okay, non-Baelfire thoughts: Hook is clearly not out of the picture, and if Cora thinks just knocking him backward and saying "no" is going to keep him from interfering, she's stupid. I want to feel sorry for the guy, i really do, but after what he did to Belle and Aurora, i doubt he's got a redemptive turn coming up in future.
Speaking of redemption, Regina appears to be losing what progress she's made this season. I wasn't particularly happy with the attitude toward her attempt at redemption anyway - people, in-universe and out, seem a bit too quick to forget how many people she's ruined or killed in cold blood for stupid or petty reasons - but there's nothing to suggest this is her final decision on the good vs. evil matter. Not sure if i've mentioned it here before, but i'm okay with her redeeming herself if she dies while doing it, or at least suffers some kind of penalty - she's done too much to get a no-strings-attached happy ending, in my opinion. I'm not much more sympathetic for Rumplestiltskin, either.
What, exactly, does Greg Mendel expect to do by sticking around? Film more magical events and sell them to somebody? Set up tour buses? If i were him, i think i'd want out of Storybrooke ASAP.
I wonder what August/Pinocchio's been up to lately. An upcoming episode is called "Selfless, Brave and True", which sure sounds like a Pinocchio reference, and i read somewhere that's when he's making his reappearance. Another character i'd like to feel sorry for, but he makes it a bit difficult.
Ugh, my two biggest problems with this show are 1) it has too many characters to focus on in any depth, and 2) it feels to me like it tries harder to make people want to watch the next episode by raising questions rather than focusing on quality work in each episode. I mean, i like it a lot, but apart from my own internal delight over the Neal/Baelfire thing and picturing what each character must be going through, there wasn't much in this most recent episode. Part of it is probably that i'm not used to watching shows on a schedule, and the waiting irks me.
.. I guess this is what 'a few thoughts' looks like?
Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Do justly, now. Love mercy, now. Walk humbly now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it. - Rabbi Tarfon
it's only 8 days until season 7 of Psych starts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! eeeep!!!!!! I am seriously totally excited for that

A while back I watched a handful of episodes of Family Ties, and enjoyed it for the most part. It was really funny. My favorite part about it was seeing Michael J. Fox at a younger age. He's one of my favorite actors from the 80s.

I have a question for you all, has anyone seen Lark Rise to Candleford? And do you recommend it? I'm thinking about getting the first season from the library the next time we go.

Christ is King.
Yes I have actually a while ago(2 years maybe). It has the guy who plays mr bates from downton abbey. It is good for those who like english drama from the past.

Dated a bit?
Do I have to get out my hockey stick or baseball bat and use it as a cane?
Anyway, great show! I remember that I loved it as a kid... but I sadly don't remember much more than that. Hey, I was little back then!
Gymmie, as for Merlin... I'm definitely not as far along as you. I have like... four episodes on the DVR, plus the last few that are coming. (I think the last episode my DVR has is "The Hollow Queen") The season is almost over, though. Tell you what, once I've finished them all, I will come back in here and a) read what you wrote and b) respond. Does that work?
............
As for me, and what I've been watching...
Old Favourites
the occasional rerun episode of Cold Case.
Criminal Minds (the new episodes. and... let's stop there for now )
Castle (mainly reruns, but new ones too... when I remember)
Lab Rats (season 2 started yesterday!!)
Austin & Ally (oh my word, that latest episode! )
Oh, and some of you will be interested to know this... for the last month or so (?) I have been rewatching Supernatural. (thank you, DVR!) I started with the pilot, and am currently as far as... season four, I think. (Castiel just showed up) As much as I like the newer ones, it's nice to go back to the early seasons... I think those are my favourites. (maybe it'll even eventually show the last few seasons.. I am dreadfully behind in terms of "new episodes") Oh, and I've been watching a few of the newest episodes too. So, yeah... fun times!
and... I forget if there are other shows. (unless old DCOM's count )
New Favourites
Ultimate Spider-man
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the current version)
occasional other things (Green Lantern, Justice League Unlimited, Young Justice: Invasion, that Clone Wars show...)
and, my new obsession... Ben 10! And I mean all of them (Ben 10, Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, and Ben 10: Omniverse).
Random other ones
Arrow
Beauty and the Beast
King of the Nerds (LOVE)
Elementary
Person of Interest (that's right, Flam!)
and... I forget if there are more.
Anyway, yeah...
1) Thank goodness for DVR, or this would never be possible!
2) If you have ever seen any of these... I'd love to have someone to talk about them with! Watching alone is sooo not fun.
has anyone here ever heard of a show called Perception?

Princess Anna - I imagine Ryadian would love to talk to you about several of the programs you've listed under "New Favourites."
Incidentally, Young Justice comes from creator Greg Weisman, who gave us Gargoyles (the "Invasion" tagline is for the currently-running season 2). Alas, it has not been picked up for season 3.
I'm not familiar with Peception, darkhorseD. What's it about?
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Thanks for the heads up, Shepherd! I'll be sure to talk with her then!
Yeah, I'm sad about it not getting another season. I think I read somewhere that it and Green Lantern were getting replaced with some Batman thing, and... I forget the other one.
And I know about Perception! I love it! Good to know I"m not the only one! (my dad kept thinking I was making it up) Hmm... how to describe it? I'd probably mess it up, so... wiki's page for it. Hope that helps!
edit:
After I got off last night, I remembered a few of the other shows I've been watching! They are: The Big Bang Theory, Power Rangers: Megaforce, and... I forget the other one again. *facepalm*
huh, I didn't know there was only one season so far; they only just started showing it here in Cambodia, so I suppose it makes sense that I'm a season behind. Also, please just call me D.

Yay! Another SPN watcher! The earlier seasons are my favorites as well. I'm sticking with the show all the way to the end, but the first 2 or 3 seasons are definately my favs.
My other favorite shows are:
Revolution (March 25!!!)
NCIS: Los Angeles
Hawaii Five-O
Once Upon a Time
.... and I think that's it.
darkhorseD, I think you might have misunderstood who I was talking to in each part of my last post. The first part was to stargazer, who I call Shepherd (because of the show Firefly). The part about Perception was to both of you... you, because you originally brought it up, and I wanted you to know you weren't alone. and him, because he had asked what it was about. And the edit was to nobody in particular. Does that clear anything up?
Speaking of Perception, wow... if it took you guys this long to get season one... how long will it take you to get season two?! I know the USA doesn't even get season two til, what was it, summer? Anyway, I'm glad you like the show! If you ever want to talk about it with me, feel free to let me know.
Kayla... I'll pm you. It'd be good to have someone to talk with about it!
Is Revolution any good? It hasn't come to Australian shores yet.
I'm currently enjoying a series called Haven. It's based loosely on the Stephen King novella The Colorado Kid but there's nothing horrific about the series. The setting is different and interesting, the characters are fun and the stories fluctuate between very good and silly but if you enjoy supernatural drama series with a lighter touch, you might enjoy it. Is anyone here familiar with Haven? I've only seen Season 1 so far.
