I find it odd that you don't have ratings for US TV. I don't watch Wallander but in Australia the series is rated MA15+ (similar to a heavy R in the US) for strong violence, themes and some language. Keep in mind, Australia are tougher on violence than sex, so the violence while possibly graphic wouldn't necessarily be extreme.

Thanks for telling me the rating!
We have ratings for our television series, but when we buy DVD sets of shows from other countries, it normally says, "Not Rated".

Also, I think many people mistake Sherlock as a family series, that was never it's intention.
I read A Scandal in Bohemia.
It wasn't at all like what I've been told the episode was about. They could have followed the book and it would have turned out just fine.

We got Maverick the first season earlier in the month. And so far we are halfway through the fourth disc. It's lots of fun to watch. It's been a while since we had a new season of something to watch, so we are really enjoying it.
I hope the rest of the show comes out on DVD soon.
Has anyone else gotten it?

Does anyone happen to know exactly where the 221b Baker Street is filmed in BBC's Sherlock? It can't be the real Baker Street...because at 221 there's a Holmes Museum. So they had to have filmed it somewhere else.
Just wondering...

Really random (and probably difficult) question for you all, but does anyone happen to know exactly where the 221b Baker Street is filmed in BBC's Sherlock? It can't be the real Baker Street...because at 221 there's a Holmes Museum.
So they had to have filmed it somewhere else.

Another random question: Does anybody here watch Master Chef or Hell's Kitchen? I have been watching both of these shows since they came on the air, and this season, both of the shows are absolutely brilliant! I'd like to think that I wasn't the only one around here that viewed these as my "guilty pleasure" shows

I don't think I've seen Master Chef. But I have seen Hell's Kitchen -- about two seasons of it. I haven't seen the past few seasons, though; mostly because I don't watch much TV. I think Doctor Who, Sherlock, and sometimes NCIS is basically all I watch. I enjoyed what I did see of it, though. Despite the language. It's interesting to see how people handle the already difficult competition with the added pressure of being yelled at by the main chef.

I've seen some of the Australian series of Master Chef; it's decent TV. Hell's Kitchen I won't touch. It's not just the strong language (I can handle some), although naturally that doesn't help matters, but Gordon Ramsey just seems so unpleasant and miserable. I can't stand the guy.

I tuned in to Master Chef twice before watching the nightly news.

Ditto. Forgive my ignorance - I'm not sure if this is the same guy who does Hell's Kitchen over here, but I simply can't stand the guy screaming and throwing quote-on-quote witty insults and the "Yes, chef. Sorry, chef." from the others on the show. It seems so abrupt and artificial.... and ugh. I won't watch TV in order to annoy myself.
Now that I see there's strong language and such present, I'll steer clear of it.
What is the concept of Master Chef? The last one I saw was when the blind girl prepared a dish; I was really into it. I don't watch much TV and I like food, so I might as well ask if maybe I might watch it every now and then.

There's a show coming up this fall called Revolution that I'm kind of excited to see. That and the premise isn't too far off from the book I'm writing Probably adds to my desire to see it

Aslanisthebest, not sure if you have a similar Hell's Kitchen in the US but it seems it still featured Gordon Ramsey.
As for MasterChef? There's not really much to say. It's a cooking competition, where foods are judged on their taste and presentation. Each week people have to cook up the best food they can and it's presented to the judges. People are eliminated and others go onto the next round, depending on how good their food is compared to the others. The challenges become more difficult and elaborate. The competition continues until there is only one cook left and they're then crowned a Master Chef.
Here's a little look:

Shadowlander, yes, Revolution looks quite good. A bit reminiscent of Jericho and Stephen King's The Stand. I'm looking forward to it.
