A Macgyver fan!!! :D I used to LOVE watching that when I was growing up, but now, when I go back and watch the reruns...I realize how incredibly lame it is. :p I mean, come on:he makes a suit that somehow magically protects him from every single killer ant that has already killed others...and he just so happens to have a bar of chocolate to fuse into the cracks of a tank, was it? And the episode with Bigfoot? Don't even get me started... :p Think it's safe o say that I've seen every episode. Have to say though, my favorite one was the one with his girlfriend, what was her name...Amy? The one where

Gotta admit, as lame as it is: it's still just plain cool. B-)

Once Upon A Time is being advertised regularly on Australia TV but they never say when it will be on! What's the point of saying "...coming SOON to Channel 7" or whatever?'

I'm currently watching My Kitchen Rules (an Aussie reality cooking show) and Alcatraz. Sherlock - Season 2 was on several weeks ago. I missed the first episode and can't find it online, found the second episode to be exceptional and found the third and final episode to be very good but a little underwhelming (that is, until the ending). What an ending!

I was wondering the same thing, they have been advertising it for 2 months or something. I am not overly interested, it seems rather fake to me.

*spies a comment about Road to Avonlea* That's an old family favorite. :) I think we've seen the majority of the episodes, and we own at least a couple of the seasons on dvd. Good stuff. :)

Good new episode of POI last night. :) The case itself wasn't all that spectacular or mindblowing, but the overall episode had a really good feel. It was a bit lighter in tone than some, and considering that there are only 5 episodes left in the season I have a feeling that the show may be moving into some darker areas pretty soon, so I have no problems with having a slightly more comedic episode before we get to that. The writers have gotten very good at working in dry humor, and I'd say it's paying off - that was definitely the most I've laughed during an episode of POI. The actors really seem like they’ve found their niche working together (Caviezel and Emerson especially), and are all playing off each other really well. The only character I still see having trouble fitting in is Carter; she didn't have any scenes with the others this time, but I still don't think she's meshing very well. If she’s gonna be sticking around, I hope her character starts to click sooner than later.

Favorite parts:

Spoiler
all the banter between Reese and Finch, the revelation that Finch was behind the creation of online social networking (HA!), and who can forget dopey!Finch? The episode was worth it if only for the scenes of normally ‘in control of himself’ Finch going loopy and dancing in front of the microwave. ;)) “Wanna hack the Pentagon?”
I also decided I liked the real POI once they finally figured out which was which.

I thought another good moment was at the end,

Spoiler
when Reese refrains from prying private information from dopey!Finch, who is blissfully unaware of his vulnerability at the time and who probably would have answered anything he was asked. Reese’s respect for Harold's privacy at that moment said a lot, I think, as did Harold equating Reese with his longtime friend Ingram (at least on a subconscious level; I don't know that he would ever do that while in complete control of his faculties. Also, bearing in mind that said longtime friend ended up mysteriously dead, this may or may not be a good thing.).
I really like the growing level of trust between these two men with major trust issues, and am very eager to see if it will last. I certainly hope it does.

Lastly: we got some good Fusco moments. :) Am I the only one who likes this character? There’s something about the bad cop trying to find a way past his mistakes and become one of the good guys. He’s also proving himself to be a pretty good investigator. *thumbs up*

*glances at post* And here I was trying to make this a short post. ;)) Sorry for the ramble.

LoL. :) C'mon, think about it:

Mac was just in a tank that got blown up by a nuclear explosion!
And he survived!

I'm not saying it wasn't an awesome show...just very very FAKE. /:)

I used to love Macgyver when I was a kid. Looking back on the show though, it didn't age well. Save for Macgyver and his clever inventions, the show is rather bland and an average 80's TV show. That said, Macgyver was the only person who can get away with a mullet and look good! :P

Leah, it's probably for ratings but you make a good point.

Yay! A thread for TV shows!

Have any of you guys seen my show? :) It's called "The Brady Bunch". It was really fun having my family on TV.

It's always, Marcia, Marcia, Marcia! :) Your show is okay in small doses. I don't believe for one minute that your family are happy 24/7. You must fight amongst yourselves when the camera's not shooting your family life. Not very realistic.

This is about Doctor Who

The first Jon Pertwee story I ever saw was Day of the Daleks and as a child I was impressed when the Doctor called the Controller out for being a "quisling" and a "Vichy France" figurehead for the Dalek regime.

That's why I was surprised later to see talk of Pertwee being the "Tory" Doctor and the "Establishment figure".

What's it all about?

I don't know who this Jon Pertwee fellow is you mention. Although, I do know about the Daleks. But Daleks are not characters on a TV show. They're real and dangerous villains I have often fought. Are you sure you're not a bit confused?

So I'm finally caught up with Once Upon a Time and I'm really annoyed with Regina.

Spoiler
Why is she trying to punish Snow/Mary Margaret? Her mother killed Daniel, kill Mommy Dearest. :P

Also, I'm calling it. The Queen of Heart's is Regina's mom.

Anyone else watching Kiefer Sutherland's new show Touch?

Ditto that.

The Queen of Heart's is Regina's mom.

Really? When I watched the latest episode, I don't remember

Spoiler
recognizing the Queen of Hearts from the "Hat Trick" episode. Maybe I just don't remember her. Also, that doesn't make sense to me. In "The Stable Boy", Regina's mom talks about being nothing and poor and working her way up to what she has now. Unless, she became the Queen of Hearts after the whole thing with Regina. That still doesn't make much sense to me. I kind of get the idea that all the fairy tales happen around the same time, or at least within one generation.

narnian_at_heart, I think that it actually could work.

Re: Once Upon a Time, Regina -

Spoiler
I don't think she blamed Snow White as much at first, and she certainly hated her mother for it, too.

Then time goes by. Mom is out of the picture - one way or another - but Snow White is still there, getting prettier, getting all her father's adoration, living a blissfully happy life, likely to have everything Regina once dreamed of but can never have. Hatred is rarely logical, especially after soaking up years of bitterness and improperly-managed heartache.

That said, i've always despised Regina, and not even this backstory makes me feel sorry for her now.

Regarding theories -

Spoiler
Queen of Hearts, huh? Maybe.

Kathryn is still alive! I was suspicious about the lack of body, but i can't say i quite predicted this. While i'm happy she's still alive, i'm wondering what kind of explanation we'll get.

Any theories on August W. Booth? I'm wondering about the name - it seems everybody else has a meaningful name, so i'm curious if his name is a reference to somebody or an anagram or something. Anybody remember what the W stands for?

Valia, that was pretty much exactly my thoughts as well. Just the fact that they obscured the Queen's face and muted her voice made me suspicious because that's almost never done in television/film without some kind of twisty reveal in mind.

I can't help but think that August's name must be important, given the fact that pretty much everyone has names referring to their fairy tale world identities. Nothing particularly comes to mind though. It was fairly obvious with most of the other characters; Regina means queen in Latin, Ashley for Cinderella, Ruby for Little Red Riding Hood.
