I have just finished watching the first season of TBBT. I really laughed hard because Sheldon totally makes me laugh. :)) I just love how they mix comedy with science stuffs. It's so creative of them to make a character like Sheldon. :">.

I believe the poster was referring to The Big Bang Theory.

Wrong will be right when Aslan comes in sight / At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more / When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death / And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again

Is anyone else intrigued by the new show Camelot starting up? It's on Stars though, so I have doubts about its appropriateness. I enjoy the arthurian legend, and the show looks high quality and well-cast, but the plot is really what counts. There's only so many times you can watch that story be done the same without getting a little weary.

I've watched a couple of the trailers and read comments by people who've had a chance to see the pilot and it doesn't impress me. Sounds like it's basically another one of Starz's "Let's get a bunch of pretty actors together and have them all naked and having sex scenes constantly!" TV shows.

Some great shows there! I love Black Books, Futurama is pretty good, as is IT Crowd. Love Jonathan Creek and Spicks and Specks and sometimes enjoy The Chasers War On Everything.

Bookwyrm, I'm not familiar with Starz (a US channel maybe?) but I think I'll be avoiding that show anyway.

Currently watching:
Doctor Who - Season 11

I've just discovered this fun British science fiction TV show. Does anybody else besides me get a tickled rib and perhaps a tear in their eye when they watch this eccentric, melodramatic slice of fun? ;;)

Depends, the4signs[repeat]. Would that show happen to be Doctor Who? Because I was just coming here to see if anyone had seen the amazing new trailer for series six. ;)

Also, is anyone watching Stargate: Universe? I almost gave up on the show after its first season, but being a loyal 'gater I had to stick with it. And I'm really glad I did--it has improved drastically, and the most recently aired episode, "Hope", was fantastic. :D

I do indeed refer to Doctor Who. I just saw the trailer for the new season a few minutes ago in fact. It didn’t mean much to me yet, since I am now only in season 4 and the 10th Doctor. Is the 11th Doctor just as good, I wonder?

I never got into Stargate Universe. A friend told me they weren’t so good as SG-1 and Atlantis, but he did say they were getting better in season 2. I heard the series was cancelled. I’d like it if a new spin off was created, but personally I’d be happy if it was more in the tradition of SG-1 & SG-A.

Don't worry, Matt Smith makes a fantastic Doctor. I think he could actually end up surpassing David Tennant as my favorite Doctor and I loved Tennant in the role. That said, I watched the trailer today and watched it and watched it. ;)) It looks fantastic and I can't believe we have to wait another month for it to get here. They've also released a two minute prequel video. I don't have the link handy, but it should be easily findable on YouTube. There's also a two part short skit about what happens when the TARDIS materializes within itself recorded for Red Nose day.

I've been watching SGU, but not with any enthusiasm. It feels too much like a poor man's Battlestar Galactica. The latter half of this season is a tad bit better, but still far inferior to the previous two shows.

Thanks Bookwyrm! I’m always nervous whenever a series makes a change, so I’m glad to hear you say you like Matt Smith. Looking back, I was skeptical about David Tennant at first, but I adore him now. And I’ve liked the Doctors traveling friends too… even though I always start out thinking I’ll miss the previous one too much. Each new person overcomes it and impresses me!

I've been watching Battlestar Galactica recently (which Booky nicely referenced a post or two above), the new one, not the old one. I've been a big fan of the original since I was a little kid, but I have very little knowledge of the newer one as I only watched a handful of episodes from the first season when it first came out on Sci-Fi (I am not going to refer to it as "SyFy" :P). I'm almost done with Season 1...here's my thoughts on it so far:

- The space combat is beautiful, the purest form of sci-fi dogfight/ballet I've seen in a long time. I could watch the show entirely based on this.
- Those Mark II's are sharp looking, aren't they? B-)
- I can see this turning into a sci-fi soap opera before too long. It's already halfway there.
- The Cylons remind me of very aggressive versions of door-to-door encyclopedia salesmen
- I'm not sure I understand the nukes used on Caprica. They leave buildings standing and vegetation grows just as lush and green as ever. And with just a little bit of anti-radiation meds you can live a perfectly good and healthy life for a long time in a city that's been nuked.
- The names used in the show are very distracting. What are the odds of the civilization of the 12 Colonies developing along nearly identical paths as ours did? I know the show's premise is that we're all from a common pedigree (Kobol), but it destroys my suspension of disbelief some.
-Along the same lines, it is highly distracting to know that in a civilization many light years away there's the possibility that there's someone named Walter or Herman too. Strike that...it is this that almost single-handedly destroys my suspension of disbelief...I hope they figure this aspect of the show out soon.
- What's with the paper and pictures in the show? Are the producers anti-square? Must every rectangle or square have it's corners lopped off?
- Did I mention that the space combat sequences are as perfect as perfect can be? Did you know I can watch that portion of the show all day long? ;))
- Hey! Did everyone see Richard Hatch?! He was Apollo in the original BSG! :D I hope they work in other cameos from the original show as well. I'd love to see Dirk Benedict (Starbuck), Laurette Spang (Cassiopeia), Terry Carter (Col. Tigh) and all the others in the show too. :)
- Unless you've watched the original series you may not realize it, but many of the ships in the Fleet are reused models, such as the prison ship. :)
- Despite it all I rather like the character of Baltar. He is, thus far, probably my favorite character in the series and is extremely funny and likeable and just a selfish genius caught in a very bad situation. I hope his character becomes a bit more...noble, as the show goes on.
- That said, John Colicos and Lorne Greene are very much missed
- I also kind of miss the epic, sweeping orchestral score of the original.

But the newer music is excellent as well.

- Did anyone see Boxey in the first couple of episodes? Uh...where did he go?

We'll see how things shake out as the show progresses. I suspect in my heart that as is so common with "reimagined" series like this the original will tend to be forgotten, which saddens me. I also hope they manage to work in Count Iblis in some form...best episodes from the original run :). I'm looking forward to seeing how they put this one together. :)
