Glad you liked it! Did any characters or episodes stand out as your favorites?
I liked all of the characters a great deal, which is unusual even for my favorite shows as there's usually a few I don't like. I really liked Kaylee, the happy-go-lucky ship's mechanic, as well as Jayne, the hired muscle. Mal is probably my favorite though...he's quite hilarious.

As a rule I do not and have never liked straight Westerns, but when the Western genre is mixed with Sci-Fi (or Sci-Fi and Horror, as is the case with TWD) it not only makes it watchable to me, it makes it outright fantastic where otherwise it might not be. Such is the case with Firefly. I wonder if they'll ever release any new stuff for it...

I was just watching Hollywood Treasure on SyFy and they just auctioned off Drinian’s sword from VDT for $1,400!!!!! It looked awesome!
Hollywood Treasure is a show on SyFy channel that follows a Hollywood, California-based appraiser named Joe Maddelana and his team as they track down, appraise and help auction off valuable film, television and pop culture memorabilia. It’s a really cool show to watch if you like Movies!

Okay, just watched TWD Episode 4 and all I can say is...
Hope the next episode is a better one!
"Two sides of the same coin"
Not a huge spoiler for TWD, but a little "sneak peek" into this coming week's episode. In fact there's not much spoiler at all, but it's definitely interesting stuff...no violence, language, or gore, so this is a safe video to post here.

I recently started watching the show Dexter and I'm seriously addicted. I saw the first 2 seasons on Netflix so far, trying to catch up to the current season . But seriously, I've never been this addicted to a show before, it's scary
.
Are there any Arrested Development fans around here? My friend recently got me hooked on that show, and now I've got my brother addicted as well. Ooh...and the show Community. I'd never heard of it before, but my cousin had, and yup, got me hooked too.

Valiant_Lucy, you've made a huge tiny mistake of getting hooked on arrested
But, yeah I love that show too... although it is quite a bit innapropriate, it's funny at the same time. How far are you into the series? It's too bad it's over though... hopefully that movie will come out

Absolutely, I am. And to me Tobias Funke makes the show, although Gob is a real close second. The genius of the show is that it's one, continuous running gag, so you have to watch the show from start to finish or you'll miss a lot of the humor in it. Poor George Michael...*cues the Charlie Brown music*
While the two are somewhat dissimilar in many ways I feel that if you like The Office you'll probably like Arrested Development. And I had heard last year that they were moving forward with the movie...

Arrested Development is hilarious TV but the family are very mean-spirited to each other. If it wasn't for the outrageous incidents and the light-hearted music, it would be another kettle of fish (= severely depressing). As is, the series is a bit crude at times but most of the time it's well-written and intelligent and almost always funny.

I watched some of the first season because my roommate is a big fan. I agree with SL, it reminds me of The Office a lot. Michael (Bluth) is a very Jim-like character and Gob (and Michael at times, actually) is reminiscent of Michael (Scott).
There's been a lot of talk about how "America just wasn't ready for this show, it wasn't appreciated" and now it's considered one of the best comedies ever. I'm embarrassed to say that I'm in the first camp. I don't really understand it. I think it's funny at times, but not that funny. All the characters are so over the top. If I watch an episode with my roommate, she nearly has a heart attack at all the jokes and I just merely chuckle. So I've yet to think that this is a great show that I can't live without.
The thing with Arrested is that if this were happening in the real world, I would hate the Bluths, but it's the narrator, reoccuring jokes (and that's why you always leave a note), and music that make it funny...
My favorite character's Buster because he's so innocently stupid
The main similarity between The Office and Arrested Development are the documentary styles for me... Michael Scott has a bit more intelligence and heart than GOB... Also both shows have helped me understand business topics in my econ class

So, I'm behind the times, but I just finished the 3rd season of Merlin. I was very unimpressed by the first couple episodes, but my sister encouraged me to keep watching. I have such a hard time knowing what to do with this show because it is so inconsistent and so ridiculous at times. When it's bad, it's very, very bad. And when it's good, it's really very good. The show can't decide whether it wants to be a serious, season story-arch show, or a lighthearted episodic comedy. I personally can't see any deliberation needed. The show is at its peak when it has purpose, development, and significance. The episodes with Gaius falling in love and whatnot... simply not interesting.
We need to get rid of evil Morgana. She is definitely the worst villain ever. My sister summed her up this way, "She likes killing people so she can do her evil smile." Yup. That's pretty much it. She's not intimidating or interesting in the least. I'm so tired of Morgause too.
The final episode was excellent. Lots of direction, nods to the legend, and just great writing. Sure, it's all ridiculous, but we knew that when we signed up.
I just finished a one week marathon dash through all 22 episodes of the first season of The Vampire Diaries. I was expecting a tepid, uninteresting Twilight 0.5, but was pleasantly surprised to find that it is instead a decently-written, well-acted, fun bucket of supernatural popcorn.
The inherent premise isn't all that different from Twilight, boy meets girl, boy loves girl, girl finds out boy is vampire and all grrr-y around blood, etc. But where it majorly differs is that these are proper vampires and proper characters. No paper-thin characters here to lounge around the screen and whinge about how they want their boyfriends to turn them already. Even stock characters like the local bully/jock have more going on in their lives than you would expect.
Elena's certainly no Bella either. One of my favorite scenes involves an evil vampire chasing her down at a school dance. And while she is ultimately saved by her boyfriend, she manages to put up a heck of a fight in the meantime, stabbing pencils through the evil vampire's palm and snapping a mop handle over her knee before attempting to stake the vampire. I can't picture Bella ever doing anything like that.
The show's mythology is also a lot of fun. Mystic Falls has a ton of secrets in its past and unlike other shows whose writers enjoy hyping the drawn-out mysteries or are unable to resolve them (Lost, I'm looking at you), Vampire Diaries delivers new pieces of the puzzle almost every week. It's an enjoyable breezy pace.
Speaking of Lost, I never though Ian Somerhalder could play an evil vampire. But he does a wonderful job of being genuinely bad while simultaneously being so much fun you want his character to stick around. I'm dreading the inevitable personality swap. This is the network on which Sam and Dean Winchester essentially traded personalities for no apparent reason over the course of the last two or three seasons of Supernatural.
Not saying the show is perfect though. It's never going to as complex as Rubicon and probably will never be as good a vampire show as Buffy. But I think it is still a solid piece of entertainment.
My family always watches the Twilight Zone Marathon on New Year’s every year (on SyFy channel)!
I love to watch them they have such great stories!
