Bookwyrm,
Cool, did you see the first, second or both episodes? It seems Auggie is the favorite
Just the pilot episode. I'll probably watch the second one tonight.
Ok, I guess I need to start watching Covert Affairs now.....
Random change of subject since I've never seen a minute of Smallville (though I've heard all about Lex vs. Clark!): Criminal Minds, like it, hate it, bored with it? I've started a marathon of sorts with it: it came on Ion television one night and ended with a cliffhanger, so i found them online. I'm starting Season 4. Reid is hands down favorite character, though I always feel bad for Hotch, he looks like he needs a good hug every once and a while....

Well, I've watched the second episode of Covert Affairs and I still like it. Interesting to see Mohinder from Heroes in it. I started out liking his character on Heroes and couldn't stand him by the third season when I quit the show. I was glad Annie got a fighting lesson this episode, because she really needed it. Now if she'll just start carrying a gun so she won't need to be rescued every episode.
Someone say Smallville?
It's true it is a hit-and-miss TV show, but when it delivers it's well worth watching. Season 9 is, IMO, their very best one yet, with very few "stinkers".

Bookwyrm,
cool, about you liking the second episode too. I'll be seeing both episodes of Covert Affairs again later today.
edit, watching now again:
1. I'd like an episode later on that goes into further detail of how Auggie became blind, character introduced already blind in pilot episode. One quick, and short, line is not enough for me.
2. Annie. She's confident in herself, and the CIA has enough confidence to use her- but in the end
being a new show and all I probably don't need spoiler boxes, but just in case anyone wants to watch it and hasn't had a chance.
I don't know if anyone here remembers me talking about the LOST Encyclopedia (canon book!)
Here's some additional information I found.
LOST: 2010 Comic-Con News
Bad news - the LOST Encyclopedia's release has been pushed back several weeks. No release date has been provided but it's believed to possibly be in mid-September.
Good news - a two-page spread of the upcoming LOST Encyclopedia can be found here: the Jughead Bomb entry
(BIG SPOILERS for those people who've not seen Seasons 1-6)

I love The Simpsons, hihi. I like how the characters interact, especially of course, Bart and Homer.
"Two sides of the same coin"
The Lost Encyclopedia looks awesome Warrior 4 Jesus!
I was wondering how they planed on doing the page layout. Thanks for sharing!
I so can’t wait to buy it!

You should watch White Collar first. It's one of those shows that could have been really dumb, but since it was made correctly, it's really, really great.
I'm really excited for tomorrow's episode.

You should watch White Collar first.
Or do both
Watch Covert Affairs as it begins, just catch up on the two that already aired. If she hasn't started White Collar yet, it'll be tougher since they're in the third season now- unless I'm mistaken.
I just rented the first disc of the first season- never seen an episode before. I hope I like it.
Thanks for that info on the Lost Encyclopedia, Warrior. It's definitely on my wish list.
Incidentally, LOST picked up 13 Emmy nominations (list currently here). The awards program is scheduled for August 28.
Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond) has signed on for at least 2 seasons of Law and Order: SVU, and Nestor Carbonell (Richard Alpert) will appear in Psych.
By the by, another book I'd like to inspect closely is Avatar: The Last Airbender: the Art of the Animated Series. That series had a lot of very pretty background scenery and other art.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
After reading all the buzz in this thread about Covert Affairs, I decided to check it out. I really liked it! You can add me to the list of people who partially watches the show only because of Auggie. I thought the first episode was better than the second. The second was a bit unclear and the "moral" a bit contrived. I was glad to see "Conrad" go the way of the dodo after the pilot in exchange for Sendhil Rathamuray. (Who, by the way, still has a slight accent despite his attempts to mask it). I do want to know who named a very obviously Eastern Indian character Jay Wilcox.
I noticed that the camera men also took Auggie's advice on the fight scenes. They started shooting closer so that it looks more frantic and less stupid.
I wonder if Auggie's real name is August. Augustus?
Kate,
I actually prefer Conrad over Jay, but since it was just one episode I am fine. I also prefer the first episode to the second, the second had me confused- but after my second viewing I was totally fine.
*reminder- 3rd episode airs tonight*
EDIT:
Just finished watching the Pilot episode of White Collar, and I really like it!!!
Stargazer, I had a sneak peek at the Avatar: The Legend of Aang (as we call it in Australia) book that you linked and it looks great! I love concept art/development books. There are also some great ones for Studio Ghibli movies. Thanks!
