DamselJillPole: Really? So how's the Vampire Diaries show?? is it great as the book? Cause sometimes they say the book is usually better than the show, but I think not all, Gossip Girl is great and I know it was from a book too.

I only skim read a few of the books because i was sort of bored with them. No Vampire book series can ever reach the great potential of that of 'Anne Rice' ;)

Vampire Diaries the show is a more better then the book series I think. :)

haha! It's great to know that there are others too that love Whose line, haha! I love the games, scenes from a hat, props, sound effects, and whose line, haha! All are great, really! Ryan and Colin are the best ones in the show, and Wayne too! Drew is very funny too even though if he just buzzes and reads the cards. lol!

I've been watching BSG. I'm several episodes into Season 2. It's a very good sci-fi/drama. Not for children though.

*walks in boldly with the BBC Merlin theme song playing behind her*

I was dismayed to find that the special feature thread dedicated to Merlin was closed recently. :( How sad. But I suppose being late is just a hallmark for me, and I'll have to deal with it.

Ah yes! But the season finale for BBC Merlin is on tonight and me and my brother are really looking forward to it. But then again these means the 2nd season is ending which is beyond sad. :(( I only began watching it recently, and caught about 5 or 6 episodes. They are having an all day Merlin marathon but unfortunately my two little sisters can't watch it so I can't record them all.

Last weeks episode was 'The Fire of Idirsholas(sp?)' That was a great except

I'm really hyped up for tonight! :D It's going to be a great episode. Though I knew that

Guess I'll just have to wait until tonight! Yes oh yes! I must go now though.

I've recently begun watching season 1 of an old mid-90s sci-fi series, Sliders, on DVD. It's a fascinating premise: a graduate student discovers a way to cross into other, parallel dimensions (the multiverse/many-worlds theorized in quantum physics). The earliest episodes explore alternate histories: what if the US lost its war for independence, penicillin was never invented, etc. The characters also occasionally encounter their 'doubles' in these parallel realities.

The wikipedia article on the series notes that (like the later Firefly) the series' internal continuity was impacted when the network insisted on altering the sequence of episodes aired.

Familiar faces include John Rhys-Davies who later went on to portray Gimli in the LOTR film trilogy.

(I recall watching the first couple seasons on network TV back when it first aired, though it later moved to cable and I missed the later seasons).

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

I love Sliders! The first two seasons are definitely the best (still several stinkers in there though). The concept of sliding between parallel worlds really fascinated me and fired up my imagination. The cast had great chemistry and the stories were creative and often intelligently written.

Agreed about those first 2 seasons being the best, Warrior. I understand some of the actors (and co-creator Tracy Torme) eventually left during later seasons due to differences in the series' direction.

Season 4 of Eureka began in the US last week with an interesting episode:

Spoiler
The town is preparing to celebrate the anniversary of its 1950 founding when several of the main characters are inexplicably transported to the same site in 1947 - then a top-secret Army base. As in the Deep Space Nine episode "Little Green Men" (in which several characters end up at Roswell in 1947), the intruders have to cope with past people and situations, and try to return home, without altering the future in doing so. The preview for next week's episode indicates some changes did occur. I think this will set up a story arc for at least the first part of this season, or longer.

What about Daniel Boone with Fess Parker?? It's from the '60s, but it's still cool :D
