At the very end of the video, a rather familiar piece of music began to play... but it wasn't LotR. What was it? And then... I realized... it was Hobbit score. Or at least, Hobbit trailer score.

SpoilerThe barrel scene made me go Whaa? Come on, somebody'd notice if that was going on during the escape...
I thought this sounded cool and was wondering who else is interested. It'd be pretty cool if we could RP this (I know we can't on NW but I could potentially set something up for us on another site). Like, get nine people for the Fellowship and all. That means I need 8 more people.

My first thought about the contract was "Wow, someone has way too much time one their hands." Of course, I read through all of it.
Those Legos look awesome. I might have to add them to a wishlist.
I know I'm joining the discussion a bit late, but I love what I've seen of Billy Connolly's work in the past and look forward to seeing him in The Hobbit. ... I love his Billy Bones in Muppet Treasure Island, and his Uncle Monty in A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Oh, I have seen Billy Connolly in something (I didn't think I had. It is quite rare that I actually have seen people in things.). I've seen Muppet Treasure Island several times. He is a great Billy Bones, although I wouldn't call Dain and Billy Bones similar characters, so that might not mean anything.
SpoilerThe barrel scene made me go Whaa? Come on, somebody'd notice if that was going on during the escape...SpoilerI know! I was thinking the exact same thing! They're supposed to be sealed in the barrels, not paddling them.
I think it was unfair of Peter Jackson to mention things that he wasn't going to show us. The scenery is amazing. I wonder that they get anything done. There seems to be a lot of having fun / goofing off.

I'm not so sure that in the movie the
Lucy of Narnia, that sounds like a neat idea. Unfortunately, I will not be able to join in, but I sure hope you find eight others.
Here's something fun: Maybe some of you have discovered this already, but in case not ...
Go to Google Maps > get directions > hit the walking icon > enter 'The Shire' for A > enter 'Mordor' for B > get directions. Take note of the yellow box: there must be a Tolkien fan somewhere at Google.

In reply to all the above spoilers....
Take note of the yellow box:
Hmm... I didn't have a Yellow Box pop up anywhere that I saw. So therefore I'm missing the joke.
ETA: Never mind!! I fail at following directions. I missed clicking the walking part. LOL, that's hilarious. I love Google's sense of humor.
Re your spoiler, fk:
Uh, right, I never thought of that mainly because of how Tolkien describes that scene (the opening of the barrels) in the story. *pictures them moored in the Laketown bay* But who says PJ is precisely following what I want to see from the book? And yes, I would totally think he would use something weighty—other than human beings—when the barrels are closed, floating down the river.
Good, glad you saw the final result on Google.
Say, it's 'only' nine months from next Wednesday, March 13th, until the first movie's release!

Don't worry, FK. I forgot to click the Walk part too so I was confused at first too. I loved it when I figured it out though. That's just so great!
(I tried thinking of a way to do it with locations from Narnia as well, but it didn't quite work. )

Could someone tell the joke in a spoiler box? I couldn't make Google switch the language and there didn't seem to be anything in the Finnish version.

Mehinen: here is a screencap. (Not mine, though... )

Use caution – One does not simply walk into Mordor.
Mountie, it would indeed be fun to have something similar related to Narnia!
EDIT: Oooh, good going on the screencap, Mel!

Wow, almost a full month of silence. And I was just thinking yesterday that we're overdue for another video blog to discuss.
Well, I don't really have much to add, aside from the fact that I realized we're one month away from the big May blockbusters and hopefully they will include a full length Hobbit Part 1 trailer!!!
ETA: Ha! I pull this thread up and then there's some news. (Sort of.)
The first Hobbit t-shirts are now available for purchase.

Exciting news!!! I love the t-shirts. They're so beautiful!
I too am hoping for a new trailer. Here's hoping they include some new footage whenever the trailer is released. I'm looking forward to seeing any glimpse of Middle-earth that we can get!
And as a side-related note, I've been thinking of re-reading The Hobbit again. This decision was reinforced by impersonating Fili this weekend since my interpretation of said dwarf probably wasn't very faithful to the books at all...
