Wikipedia said this:
Beorn was of immense size and strength for a man, and retained his size and strength in bear-form. He had black hair (in either form) and a thick black beard and broad shoulders (in human form).

And in all the art I have seen he is just like that.

Likewise, to be sure! At certain revelations, I remember gasping aloud as certain dots were joined. Wonderful stuff!

Yes I do believe I did as well, at least a few big gasps inside if it did not leak outside.

Some Highlights for me were:

Nobody seems to have posted this photo yet:

I thought with the beehives it must be Beorn's, but the size and scale don't look right, so perhaps it is Radagast's, because he would talk to bees too. Unless the cave aspect of the building suggests a bear's lair, but Tolkien described Beorn's so definitely?

*was very tempted to just write something along the lines of "squeeee!!!!"* :p

A trailer!? Already?! It feels too early for that. But, as the article points out, come Dec. 14 the first movie release will only be a year away! I wonder how long it will be. I'm guessing that it will be little more than a very fast teaser. And it will probably focus more on Bilbo than the Dwarves because they will want to let the audiences know right away that this is about Bilbo on his first adventure. I kind of hope I'm guessing wrong though 'cause I would love to see some finished shots of the Dwarves.

"There will be a trailer fairly soon, actually. Around Christmas time, I believe."

Actually, I remember waaaay back in the day when LotR:FotR was still in production, we got our first teaser trailer one year prior to the movie being released in theaters. So I'm trying not to get my hope up, buuuut, the one year to go mark is next month. :D

I WIN!!!! :)) I'm so excited!! :D :D
I wonder what movie it's going to be in front of. Probably Tintin.

I thought everyone would get a kick out of a bit from my film studies textbook. There's an entire chapter that focuses on adaptations and this section was about half-way through the first page:

For example, a novel may be of any length and can develop elaborate plots with many characters; a film's scope is limited by its screen time. Fans of the Tolkien saga The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King must accept that even a three-hour-and-twenty-minute film has to leave out large chunks of the lengthy novel.

Oh really? We have to accept it? Says who? :p

I read about The Hobbit trailer on IGN the other day!
I'm so so so so excited!!!!!!
IGN thinks it will be shown with Tintin! Which would make sense because Peter Jackson is producing Tintin, and it is around Christmas, and It is in 3D, so if they wanted to show some of the 3D they could!

In honor of this exciting news here is the very first trailer ever for The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, it was released around Christmas 2000!

I think that The Hobbit Teaser will look be like this! I can't wait!!!!! :D

The Value of myth is that it takes all the things you know and restores to them the rich significance which has been hidden by the veil of familiarity. C.S. Lewis

At first I was really excited, but a little nervous that the trailer is going to be shown so far before the movie. But I didn't know that it's the same amount of time as LotR, so that fixes that and I'm excited again. :D

I hope the teaser comes with Tintin... I saw some speculation on comingsoon that it might be with Sherlock Holmes2 because of the studios, but I'm hoping for Tintin

Can't wait!!! :)

If there is a teaser shown with Tintin or Sherlock, expect it to be VERY small. Maybe just some Hobbiton stuff to set up the journey, and bam..."Christmas 2012". That would get your appetite nice and whetted, lol.
