Thank you for giving the link!
I meant to watch just a little of the beginning, it being so late in the evening/soon midnight, but couldn't stop . The new shots from Rivendell are just beautiful, it's easier to like the desing now that there's shown more of it! (Always thought that the Rivendell in the movies wasn't quite my cup of tea, but those few seconds made me reconsider.)

No, you weren't the only one, Mehinen. I thought so too even though I saw your post before watching the video. I didn't realize that's what you were talking about until I saw the lettering on the bottom of the screen.
Eek, I'm so excited! I love how they ended the video too, with the door opening and the voice over "In a hole in the ground, there lived a hobbit."
I just saw the video! Omigosh! That's so amazing!
Yeah, haha, I thought that was a scene they were filming too. I was like, um... is that supposed to be the people of Laketown or something, cuz I pictured them a bit differently than that....
But I thought it was such a beautiful moment. The welcoming, and the response of the actors.
And my absolute favorite moment:

That was so awesome! I seriously freaked out when they said the first line at the end! Can't wait for more videos

Who do you think it was talking at the end? Ian Holm? Martin Freeman?
And.... guess who won the March Madness Book Contest?

Believe me when I say I am an ardent fan of The Hobbit, everyone! However, I think it's rather odd to say that The Hobbit, great as it may be, is "The Greatest Book Of All Time". Nevertheless, I congratulate Tolkien on his posthumous achievement!

I do too. I would have at least expected it to be the Lord of the Rings, if it's a Tolkien book. Or even a Non-Tolkien book like War and Peace. Or The Bible (unless they're going for fiction only).
Anyway, I need help from you guys. I recently acquired an interest in Tolkien merchandise, and am compiling a list of to-read books about/concerning/regarding Tolkien, LOTR, etc. Since you all seem to be very knowledgable in this area, I thought I would ask for your assistance. So far my list includes:
Complete Guide to Middle Earth: A-Z
Tolkien: Author of the Century
The Road to Middle Earth
Meditations on Middle Earth
Doug Adam's Music of Lord of the Rings
Gollum: How We Made the Movie Magic
There and Back Again: An Actor's Tale
Does anyone know any others?
Also, what are the most famous/well-done audiobooks?

Oh my gosh, that video made me SO excited! It was really funny seeing all the dwarves looking like, well, men. I can't wait to see them all dwarfed up! Teehee.

I found a website... it, by itself, had nothing to do with LOTR. But I took a close look at the picture on there, and... Is that who I think it is? -- http://arisingvoice.com/2011/03/01/have ... he-church/

Looks like Frodo or Bilbo to me. Ooh, "There and Back Again an Actor's Tale"???

Off the top of my head I would say it is a drawing of Sam in The Fellowship of the Ring, after Gandalf dies and the fellowship gets out of Moria.
