Yeah, I'm hoping it will be good like LotR was...not a happy little kids movie like the cartoon version. ;))

I can't figure out how to vote! :(( It says to click on the vote button, but I can't find any vote button. I'd vote for LWW over the Hobbit any day but I can't since it isn't letting me vote.

Thanks for the FoxTrot link johobbit. :)

I took turns voting for LWW and the Hobbit ;)) :D

Yay! Filming starts now! I can't wait to see all of the spy reports that'll hopefully start leaking in now :)

Lu, theonering.net had something about Orlando's part in the Hobbit a little while back... http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2011/03/16/42688-orlando-bloom-in-or-out-of-the-hobbit/

As for Gimli's line, I heard about that in the commentary as well, Arwenel, but I also figured that he has more than one axe and probably picked up a few more in Moria...

In Australia and New Zealand "Fall" is called "Autumn". Lucy, please remember there's always a Southern Hemisphere to your Northern Hemisphere. What do they teach in these schools? :P

Nabbed this picture off of TORN. Anyone know who these dwarves are? And whether or not this is an old or new picture? I haven't seen it before.

Based on the story I saw it in, I was wondering if it was Thror, Thrain, and Thorin.

That looks rather like some of the dwarf lords from the opening sequence of The Fellowship of the Ring to me.

EDIT: Also, a google search for Gloin brings up that photo with comments from 2004.

Thanks Mel! That would have been my second guess except the dwarf at the top right didn't look familiar to me at all. Actually the thing that clued me in was that Richard Taylor looked really young. :))

Filming on the Hobbit starts tomorrow. I'm so ridiculously excited. :)) So ready for this!

Ditto. Ditto. Ditto. And DITTO! :D :D/ :o)

so The Hobbit starts tomorrow. hmmm. one part of me is happy, the other is wincing. this movie is going to either be awesome or a dud

In no way at all do I think these films will be duds. If I were a betting lady, I'd bet on it. ;)) You may rest assured these are in excellent hands, Liberty.

PP, when you go in to the March Madness link, it says "Vote Now". Click on that, then scroll down to The Hobbit and LWW. To make it count, though, you will have to choose between the two on the left side of the page as well.

fk, I showed Kimberly that photo and we both said together "opening segment of FotR: seven [rings] to the Dwarf Lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls." ;)) And yep, Richard Taylor looks a good deal younger there, lol!

And ... behold! :D

Yes! It's finally happening! :D/ And that's such an awesome picture of Peter Jackson walking through the door; I'm glad he's recovered. *dances happily* They're finally filming!

Hobbit vs. LWW--don't make me choose! That's such a hard choice; they're both so amazing. If it was Lotr vs. LWW it would be easy.

That was Peter Jackson???? *looks again* Woah, he looks different! I'm still used to the afro-ish hairstyle, glasses, and chubbier face. He looks so much more modern now. I don't recognize him!

Yes, Peter Jackson looks great! I'm very happy for him. :)
Here is a side by side picture comparison of him from 2001 and now.
http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2011/03 ... n-and-now/

You will notice some slight differences in Bilbo's House since there is a sixty year difference between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring.

And also I'm so happy that The Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Blu-Rays now have a street date June 28, 2011! :D :
