I now have my minotaur key!
I probably should work on trap upgrades next though. I'm about 40 fealty plates and power cores (a piece) short of 150 of each one. So I may go for farming and treasure runs for a bit around the great winter hunt and see where I end up before deciding on which trap to do.
Edit: I've discovered I really like the airship charms. I ran out of ancient charms just about 100%. The airship charms were all I had left with a decent power boost. They worked, excuse the pun, like a charm. If they bring those back, I think I want to stock up on those too.
At the end of GWH 2015 day 1, I finished up the Gnawnian and Whisker Woods race. I'm halfway through the Burroughs race, but as I'm about to head off to bed, i'm gonna move back to the Laby overnight so I don't lose any loot (or lose the race) while I'm in bed.
It's been a great event so far - now that I've finally completed my Toboggan, I can run it in the course I prefer (or else in courses where there are mice for a map).
I need nearly thirty Copper Beads for my last train trap, and I've got about ten beads already.
Then I'll do the Sunken City course - hoping for a PP (or two), which seems to be easier to get here than in the dives from the actual Sunken City.
I've got a Diamond or two as well.

I'm doing the Orange course right now, so provided my DLU continues I should be able to get my Winter Aura upon completion. After that, I'll probably keep running Double Diamond courses for the loot. There will be a New Years course coming out soon so I'll want to stockpile AA for that.
The orange course is easy to beat, even if it's your first time, unless you have a really major case of DHU. All you have to do is flip on your nitro the whole time, arm some holiday cheesiness and it's in the bag.
I've been alternating between orange and Hollow Heights courses. Heights obviously for the loot, but the orange courses give you a big profit in your nitro supplies, and even though I'm probably not making a profit in my Christmas cheese as a whole, I'm using the lesser cheeses and making back quite a bit of Arctic Asiago.
I noticed the Devs had been quite kind in giving me a total of three pieces of Diamond Cheese and several more diamonds to make a fourth piece, so I thought I'd make a short visit to the Fungal Cavern in the hopes of finishing up my FC theme, or at least getting all of the Crystal Cruicibles for it. But every one of my four pieces of cheese that I used attracted and caught a Huntereater. Those things have a 25% attraction rating. Really???? I didn't use any other supplies, I'm saving the rest for the Egg Hunt, so the theme will have to wait until then.
I'm stuck on gathering cheese. I still have at least two more upgrades before I can get to an orange course. I'm stuck farming aa for charms and cheese.
^^ Btw I discovered that you don't really need that big of a stockpile of AA for the Orange course...they recommended having 100 pieces but what with looting some on the way, I felt like I almost broke even. I went in with about 75 and I never dipped below 50 so yeah; don't worry about having such a huge pile.
I don't think I've ever been up to 100 AA. I haven't won every run, and I've done some runs with other festive cheeses - but mostly I've managed with less AA than the game suggested.
I just got 11 Copper Beads as part of the loot for winning another Varmint Valley course. With the single Copper Beads I've got dropped, I've been over to the Gnawnian Express Station to buy the Supply Grabber. Now I'm well equipped next time someone invites me for a train ride.

It's not just the cheese. It's the charms. I'm still two upgrades away from the orange level. I'm seriously beginning to doubt I'll finish this event.
What charms are you trying to get?
I haven't worried much about charms at all this event, I've used some Winter charms (which I only had a few dozens of) and Snowball charms (which I only had about 40 of), then some luck or power type charms in between.
Perhaps charms are necessary to win the courses before the upgrade, but the wins aren't all that important then, as you get the upgrading loot without winning. I lost a few of my courses before the full upgrade, mostly when I didn't even use Nitro. The access to Nitro changes dramatically after the full upgrade.

Done with the four New Years slope runs. Got both bases. Back to alternating between Hollow Heights courses and Comet courses. Loving the bonus loot!
I finally got through to the New Years run. I'm going to try and stock up a bit on aa and winter charms before the end of the event. I'll probably go through the hollow heights course again too.
I just noticed I have 491 Elf Mice. I don't know that I'll catch nine more in a day and a half, but I'm sure I will finish out that gold crown next year and that'll be my first gold crown for an event mouse.
I was surprised to see in FBF that they're doing a Furoma Rift next instead of a Law area. But I guess that's because all of the rift areas have been small and the next release is always small as it falls into the event season. The big areas come out over the summer.
I'm hoping with all of the bonus loot from the GWH that I will be able to make real progress on the Labyrinth. It's definitely an area I will be returning to for quite sometime as i don't think I'm anywhere near close to finishing it up.
I'm sure most people will come in here talking about the King's Giveaway and all the goodies.... and there sure are a lot of goodies to be had, especially the rainbow maps.
But I'm really intrigued by the King's Calibrator. Finally, a use for King's Credits! And I noticed quite quickly that I'm going to have to be very careful with what I choose to spend them on because I don't have anywhere near enough credits to buy everything. I got the first daily gold upgrade, and I'm thinking about getting the second one too, but I may hold off and wait to see what new cheeses they add to future areas. (I'd also like the Manticore skin but that doesn't boost your hunting ability sooo... yeah.)
Has anybody else snagged their calibrator yet? What upgrades did you decide on?
