Yeah, no kidding...I feel like Relic Hunter maps were just relegated to a whole new "area"; i.e. you're gonna have to grind at them for awhile in order to "complete" it. But it's all good, because I was at a point in my game where I was more or less finished with the top levels and wanted to bounce around the kingdom anyway. I intend to do Relic Hunter maps until I get the Warden Slayer trap, at the very least, but will probably continue as there is lots of nice new loot to be had.
I want the Treasure map journal theme as well, although I expect it to take ever so long - I haven't got a scrap yet, but I'm not worried if it takes months.
I got the new trap in my first Season 3 treasure chest, though
Treasure maps are more fun than tourneys, in my opinion - and treasure maps became even better in the new version.

Total side note...
I topped 1,000,000,000 points.
The WWRift comes in handy for a lot of points.
I put this on the fb group earlier, but for those of you who aren't on there... here's that nifty power bonus on the Dreaded Totem Trap in the Jungle of Dread. I tried it out while I was looking for mice on my map.
I haven't tried it with other bases to see if it's a static gain or a percentage based gain, but regardless I think it'd be well worth it for those planning on doing a lot of hunting in the JoD. This is good news, especially for higher leveled players, since there are better shadow traps in the game, but this lovely bonus may make it a much more worthwhile buy.
Next visit I'm using a higher attraction base with it there, however. I think I can afford that XD

I thought long and hard on whether or not i wanted to get that trap. I went ahead and got it because I decided I'd rather regret buying it than regret not buying it.
I just thought it was worth mentioning that I got my second ever Shelder mouse yesterday...
And I want more Arduous maps. Those are fun.
I haven't been that low on gold since my first Ronza shopping
I stopped shopping at about 60K gold, then after she left, I bought some cheese and charms where I was (Gnawnia Rift) and ended at 22K gold
Now I've been hunting in various Rift areas for a few days, and I'm close to half a million gold. Now, what traps was I going to work on

Varna, yeah, I got some Super Wealth Charms but other than that, I don't think I bought any charms this year. I'll probably regret it, but ah well.
I had a slightly annoyed thought today as I was watching Jacob draw a mouse for the upcoming Labyrinth area. I sure hope they don't introduce a new tactical trap there that immediately renders the Chrome Kitty obsolete (like what they did with the Chrome Oasis).
I only bought Super Wealth in the charms department as well.
FK, I've seen that worry from a lot of people. My only issue with it is that I've gotten a lot of use out of my Chrome Oasis in the time it's taken getting close to the School of Sharks. I hope there will be something like that in getting the new Tactical trap, if there is one.

Eh, I could see it happening. Lots of people thought a Chrome Kitty was far, far away because of how overpowered it is for the game currently. Honestly, all it's done is make Furoma THAT much more attractive. It wouldn't make sense to introduce it into the game unless there was a new Tactical area coming that would require a better trap than the Kitty, and naturally one would expect an upgrade of sorts to be offered as a reward for the new area as well.
Seeing as we recently got the Fissure base, I see another base as a goal as unlikely. I think we'll see a new Tactical trap as the goal for the Labyrinth, but the Chrome Kitty will still be incredibly useful (as the Chrome Oasis was in getting the SOS traps). It could be another "long haul" area like the SC or FC (although the FC wasn't so bad if you were lucky). The Sunken City; now that was a grind of an area. I would expect the Labyrinth to be more along that vein.

That's the theory I'm going with too. Still, if that's the case, it aggravates me a little that Ronza only brings traps anymore that are good for a month or two. So now she hardly shows up and what she brings is just meh.
But I suspect that's how the evolution of the game goes, and i'm not sure what else they could do about it.
Speaking of the Labyrinth (shouldn't it be called a Mouse Maze instead? ), Jacob said they've come up with a new mechanic for the area for how it's played, so I'm really excited.
Finished up another map today (thanks everybody!) and I'm now ready for the SC mini-event next week. Actually I decided today that all of the event maps I've been stockpiling are more or less useless because I always go with my buddies, so I opened the rest of them, got all the rare dust out that I could, and discarded the rest. I'm farming more Relic Hunter maps in Claw Shot City for the moment.
I have several event maps as well - mostly just one of each - and I guess I'll open mine as well. After all, some of them don't work when the event returns the next year anyway. And it's usually not difficult to find some friend who has got a brand new event map and can invite me.
The Chrome Oasis has been very useful for me, too. I'm planning to get the two Shark traps together, and I'm at least a thousand Sand Dollars and roughly the full cost of gold away from them.
The current event is a great help. I've mostly hunted in treasure zones and farmed between 2 and 3 mil gold in three days. I started with 127 Sand Dollars and now have 618 (after having spent close to fifty on jetting) - some of those are from 18 Sunken Treasure Crates.
I guess I should have bought more materials for Spiked and for Golden Anchor charms from "the Flying Gold Sink" (as someone on the Forum named her) - but last year I had 37 mil gold when she arrived, and this year I only had 12 mil, and I preferred the Super Cactus charms, so that's the way it turned out.
I have plenty of materials for ordinary EACs, though, and I've been lucky with treasure zones, so I expect a few more Sunken Treasure Crates before Monday. I have close to two thousand oxygen canisters.
My top priority at the moment is the Rift and the Fissure Base - but with an event in a fun area like SC, the priority is changed for a week!

I really enjoyed this SC mini-event. I got lots of gold and TONS of SC goodies.
Back to treasure maps and working on getting the couple themes I'm missing. Does anybody know if the theme pieces from the treasure maps only drop from rare maps?
They are not rare-only, FK, according to horntracker. They seem to be very rare no matter which chest you get, but that's likely a bit skewed by the fact that you can only get one of each scrap.

The Adventure Book is now live in the game. Be prepared to spend a few minutes claiming rewards. It's totally worth it, though. I think I gained more than a few % towards Arch Duke, not to mention about 2 million gold and over 1000 KC. The only task I haven't completed is the Town of Gnawnia, but only because they introduced those bounties long after I was done with the place, and the bounties were only on mobile before. I'll tackle that when I get another easy or medium map.

I dearly loved the SC mini event. I hope they bring it back. I too picked up all the stuff from the Adventure Book except for the Town of Gnawnia. I think I jumped about 6-7% towards Archduchess. I was rather stunned on that one.
