My money is on the event starting Tuesday or Wednesday. Hopefully I have reliable internet...currently on a plane to Japan so who knows lol.
As of two hunts ago, I am now the proud owner of a Fissure Base. But for a while last night I didn't think it was gonna happen as I messed up my run to get up to the MBW (attracted a leader) and then she quickly burned through 4 pieces of my LL cheese. I had to go to bed without catching her so I moved to the BRift overnight to farm calcified rift mists. Came back this morning and got her on the first hunt and she dropped one web, so yay.
I will need to go back to the WWRift to prep for Easter, but for the moment I am farming gold in the BRift until the CNY event starts.
ETA: Well, I've inadvertently made a discovery. I've been trying to get the Contaminated Crumb Cake collectible off of the Radioactive Ooze mouse for a while, and I've now learned that if you want Calcified Rift Mists, the non-boss Toxic Spill Rift mice are where to get them. They're dropping like, 5 a piece. I had used almost all of mine and I almost have 100 of them again just from today. I don't know if anybody desperately needs C.R.M., but if you do, that's where to get them the fastest.
So is everybody getting lots of goodies from the VDay mice? I was kind of surprised they kept this event separate from the CNY. Not that they hadn't done that before, but the two holidays are so close together that I was kind of surprised they decided to do that. At least it's short and sweet.
And I am assuming that when they event ends on Tuesday that the next event will begin? I guess we'll see.
^^ Yeah, I was surprised as well. I thought that maybe the splitting of the events meant the Cruise wasn't returning but someone on another board said they heard it was so I dunno. Either way, I imagine it will be back-to-back; MAYBE spaced out by a day but CNY is Weds/Thurs so they don't have a lot of time.
Actually, it really doesn't make sense to have the Cruise return because for a hunt-based event like that, you need to give The People a minimum amount of time to complete it (like two weeks), and February is nearly over. I doubt they would start the event this week and end it next week if it was the Cruise, and I doubt they would keep it going for a crazy amount of time after the actual holiday either. So I dunno.
I spent the first half of the event in the Sunken City using up the rest of the Fishy Fromage...it was awesome. The Valentine mice would drop a TON of Canisters in addition to other stuff, so I got a really good return on my cheese. Now I'm attempting to get my Pour back up so I can hunt Twisted Carmines but maybe I'll just bail to Furoma.
I'll go ahead and ditto the two of you. I was surprised they split them up, but I think they're trying to offer smaller events based on the feedback they got around Christmas and New Year's.
That said, I'd like a full-blown Cruise, even if it's a smaller one. It's always a fun event.
I've been racking up Riftiago in the last few events. I'm up to 160+ pieces at the moment, so I'll be going on a Goliath-hunting rampage sometime in the next few months. I'm enjoying the Rift areas a bit more now that I have three to choose from, and I'm finally done farming Magmatic Crystal Charms for Easter, so I can bounce among the top-level areas as I feel inclined now. I think I'll probably focus on the WRift, but I tend to change my mind whenever I post thing like that, so who knows?

I've spent most time in the Gnawnia Rift during this event, and got some nice loot from the event mice (lots of Calcified Rift Mists ). At the moment I'm using the extra luck against the MA boss in the Burroughs Rift, hoping to get enough Rift Circuitry (I need 12 more) for the FCL trap.
It was a nice and simple way to make a mini-event, and the +13 luck was a great factor to include in it. I saw that one of the devs mentioned in a Friday Feedback summary that there would be a cruise again, and I would think that's likely to start later this week, almost back to back with the Valentine's event.
I've been on a few maps - I've got 2 for myself, but haven't opened the scrolls. The important part is catching all the event mice before the event ends, then the others can be hunted down later - but preferably before the next event!

I opted to hit the Sunken City for the event. I didn't keep track, but based on the fact I've hovered between 190 and 220 or so o2 canisters the entire weekend, I'm figuring I've probably collected somewhere between 50 and 100. The luck has been nice as my sand dollar count has skyrocketed up to 506. When I came back to the SC right before this event, I was right around 400.
Finished up one round trip on the cruise. It went really fast this year.
Then I wrapped up the Valentine's treasure map I was on so that's done.
Now I am in the WWRift farming gold because I'm relatively poor. Plus I can work on farming supplies for the egg hunt this way. I'll probably return to the cruise at some point to do another round and get a silver crown on a couple mice, but there's not much there that I'm excited over this year.
I posted this on fb, but I"m gonna post here too as it's easier to discuss...
The past few weeks have been rather hectic! Valentine’s, Lunar New Year, and MouseHunt’s Birthday are all timed rather close together. It’s been a bit of a challenge to get everything ready in time, however, we’re still on schedule for the Birthday!
MouseHunt’s seventh birthday is on March 7 and we’re planning on starting the celebration during the week of March 2. Carl’s Cruise will likely return to port for the birthday celebration where the various shops will remain open to spend Cruise Bux, even while the Birthday Event is ongoing.
Once birthday celebrations start we’ll be shifting gears to work primarily on the Spring Egg Hunt as well as some high-level new areas to follow. We’re also planning a revamp and update to Treasure Maps in the summer and a few other updates.
I had actually wondered if they were going to have the cruise run into the birthday event, but it doesn't look like it.
And have I really been playing MH for almost seven years now???? Wow! Congrats to them, I've never played a game with this kind of staying power. I suspect that because I can play with my friends it makes a big difference.
I did 1 round of the Cruise, bought what I wanted, and headed back to the WRift.
My time here has been characterized by the admiration and appearance of mice from the Gigantic Gnarled Tree section, to the point that I've not even unlocked the second tier of either of the other sections yet. I haven't been using area charms, as I haven't looted very many supplies for them and I don't want to buy them or use them prematurely; I understand that they are key to setting up for the MBW.
However, I'm currently at 11/19/18, so maybe I'll get into the Deep Lagoon this time.
I'm not going to rush through this area as I really like it and feel like I've rushed through the last few new areas and I'd like to go at a slower pace, at least for event season.

Admittedly I did rush through the WWRift, mostly because I wanted to be in good standing for the egg hunt. I didn't know what other things they'd put in the game and how much time I'd have. I admit that if I could go back, I wouldn't go through that fast because I spent too much gold on the Marketplace getting charms, and now I feel like I'm in a bit of trouble where gold is concerned. My husband is taking his time, and he's not that far behind me (except he hasn't been as lucky with the MBW dropping webs) and it's working well for him, so yeah... the slow and steady way is probably the way to go.
The Fissure Base + FLC + Wealth Charms are working pretty well in the WWRift right now so that's what I'm doing to farm gold and progress at the same time. I'm returning to the Cruise on occasion to help out with Treasure Maps because I like getting the Ancient Charms too.
I completed 2.5 rounds of the Cruise and have just dove on a monster SC dive. Thanks for O2 that I picked up from the Cruise Shoppe, I have just under 2k O2.
Right now, the plan is to get to 25k as quick as I can, UNLESS I hit a Feeding Ground (which I'll know very soon); in which case I will travel out and save the Feeding Ground for Easter in case there is a Barracuda Egg.
The next few weeks will be pretty inconsistent in terms of my online time, so I will be spending my more active hours in the WRift while I can.
I caught my first Tri-Dra! It was close, too, because I had two areas at 50, so I was worried I would get another Centaur Ranger instead. I'm still not going to use charms, but I'll be hoping for a chance at the Cyclops Barbarian this time. I haven't tried for the Gilded Leaf Mouse yet, either, as horntracker indicates I have about a 5% chance of catching it, and I'd like to have at least 20 pieces of Magical String in hand before attempting that.

I'm close to the end of my second cruise and am planning to go on at least one more - it's perfect for passive playing, just checking from time to time whether it's time to switch to a different event charm. I started with a couple hundred Firecracker charms from last year, and I have 350 of them at the moment. I'm buying Oxygen with my Cruise Bux - I haven't been at Sunken City for a while, and there is a good area ahead of me ...
I've been at a tourney, though, with a bit more active playing - and with all Ramming Speed Charms We ended in the top 10%, which is nice. I'm also doing maps, I'm using Ancient Charms in the Rift, so I need some new from the maps.
I haven't done much in the newest Rift. I still need the traps from Burroughs Rift - only 3 Rift Circuitry missing before I can buy the first one! I guess I'll go for the Fracture (?) Base first, it only takes one web, and I have enough points for it already, unlike the Fissure.

Congrats on your top 10% placement Varna. I saw you guys get that and my husband and I followed up a couple hours later with another top 10%.
Too bad they weren't MEGA tournaments, but that's ok.
And just so you know, the Fracture Base is a requirement to buy the Fissure Base. Otherwise I can't imagine why anybody would buy it cause it's not that great.
Side Note: I miss my Crystal Tower + Rift Base combo. It was one of my favorite looking trap setups.
Well, I've caught all of the mini bosses in the WRift now! I crafted my first batch of LL cheese. Those of you who've gone for the MBW: how many pieces should I have before tackling her? I want to know whether to keep farming LL components or try to set up this run as a MBW run (in which case, I'll make use of my Magical String and charms).
