So between my Pearl Patch and DiGs's upcoming Pearl Patch, maybe we'll actually place in today's tourny. Yesterday's tourny was rough cause none of the four of us got a good location, except for stwin and he was right at the end of it.
Is "Pearl Patch" a general term for any treasure area, because my area is a sand-dollar-sandbar, not a pearl patch?
Yeah, we're currently in top 25%
I've already collected 54 barnacles. I'm thinking that I'm gonna favour high luck setups in this area. I haven't had a problem catching mice thus far. My highest power setup is only 700 higher than my highest luck setup, and I'm hoping that the high luck will help with loot drops.

Whoops! No, I meant Sand Bar for you. My area is a Pearl Patch (the big brother to the Sand Bar).

Which is funny because the last couple really haven't. But then again, they've been fairly simple without much to discuss. I mean, you and I were done with the Rift in two to three days soooo.... What's to talk about? This is the first area we've had in a while that actually has some depth to it (no pun intended).
In discussing elsewhere what to get first (the base vs. the trap) I thought I'd take a look at some setups real quick.
Chrome Phantasmic Oasis + Tidal Base
Power: 11468
Attraction: 25%
Luck: 38
Rune Shark Trap + Rift Base
Power: 11210
Attraction: 20%
Luck: 38
Rune Shark Trap + Golden Tournament Base
Power: 12168
Attraction: 30%
Luck: 35
So the Tidal Base + CPOWN is definitely better than the Shark + Rift, but comporable to the Shark + GTB. So based on that, I'll definitely get the Base first because it's the cheapest and the quickest way to speed up further runs.
I am going to take a gamble, I have two much needed Mermouse Dens coming up that I'm going to go through at a regular speed in the hopes of getting to higher loot areas later on. Hope it pays off.
Nice! Good to know that the Tidal base is definitely worth the purchase
My barnacle bash is done I got enough to make a buy a big batch of fishy fromage. Now I'm out of fish scales. I disarmed my empowered anchor charms to save them for the two treasure areas I've got coming up.
We're still hovering around the top 25 percent in our tournament as well
EDIT: Done with my Rocky Outcrop. Bring on the sand dollars! Think I'll get 400 in this run? [/Wishful-Thinking]

Whoops! No, I meant Sand Bar for you. My area is a Pearl Patch (the big brother to the Sand Bar).
The closest treasure zone area (for the <2,000m distance) is the Sand Dollar Sand Bar, while the next treasure zone (for the 2,000m I'm in LG now, in Cursed City, beginning to farm herbs and petals for my first Lunaria. I really should make an effort to get my Phantasmic soon. I'm sure it will be needed when I dive more than 2,000 m.

There is even a third treasure zone further away than 10,000 m.
*ponders* Yeah.... After I finish up this current tournament, as well as go through the Mermouse Den that's a couple areas away on my HUD, I may actually pull out now. I dove in with 366 O2 to use, and I've depleted about half of it, but have only made it just over 4,000m. As the stuff past 10,000m is my goal I think it is in my best interest to go with the FF cheese materials I have and really push my O2 to the max. The downside is that I'll miss out on tournies for the next few days, but I think it'll be worth it, and it should theoretically put me in really good position for that MEGA tourny next week.
I've finally gotten a start on the diving. I had about 160 oxygen. I've been through the coral section and I'm in the rocky outcropping now. I'm up to 910 m. 107 DC, 7 S, and 55 B.
Is that about average for this point? I still have 121 O2.
Yeah, Kat. That sounds about average. Good luck!

*dittos DiGs* I haven't been here long enough to really know what's average, I just know that it's far more important to me personally to get a well-rounded group of loot to make FF (and other traps). I didn't pay attention to distances until last night when I realized I wasn't going to make 10,000m.
I did decide to pull out of my dive last night after finishing up the Mermouse Den. I got enough supplies to make exactly 300 FF. I only crafted 201 and am leaving the rest in reserve because I'm HOPING to snag a Water Jet charm for this run. But if I feel I need the cheese more, I'll do that instead.
I can't decide what my Oxygen goal is, but I think I'll aim for at least 600 if not closer to 750. Last night when I stopped my dive, I think I still had around 176 oxygen or so to spare, and I'm already back up to 234 so I'm in good shape.
As a side note, I'm up to 79 sand dollars so almost a fifth of the way to the base.
I can't help but laugh at how uneven my supplies are so far on my first dive, haha. 17 Coral, 144 Scales, 13 Barnacles.
So far I've been alternating between Shallow Shoals and School of Mice. I'm just about to my first Shipwreck and have a Pearl Patch beyond that, but I don't think I'll reach it because I only have 44 Oxygen and the Shipwreck is long. Oh wells.
A quick comment about the Art FBF yesterday. The Gnawnian Rift covers only the mice in the Meadow. I think we know the next rift will be a Burrows Rift, but unlike Gnawnia where they just had the one location they were pulling mice from, this one looks to be pulling mice from both the Mousoleum (Lycan) and the Digby Dirt Dwellers (Subterranean) so far. So will there be more than one specific location? I'm also intrigued by the fact that these guys look kind of digital or mechanical. I'll be curious to see where the storyline goes from here.
@Gymmie, it took me two dives to even out my supplies enough to where I didn't have to use Gouda/SB in the City. But I see you did make it to the Pearl Patch (Yay!) so that should definitely help.
Morning status report: I am up to 421 Oxygen with 92FF to go and I still have a small stockpile waiting in the wings as needed. The earliest I will be ready to dive is tomorrow morning and this will be a biggie. *rubs hands together eagerly* Hoping to catch lots and lots of new mice and make good progress towards the Tidal Base.
FK, how many FF did you have when you started farming oxygen for this upcoming run?
I've collected 336 FF on this dive thus far, and I've still got over 200 oxygen to burn through, so I'm just curious.

Well luckily for you I have a journal summary that just popped up or I wouldn't have been able to tell you. Looks like I had 173 Oxygen left when I bailed out of my previous run.
I crafted 201 FF to burn through for Oxygen and I have another 99 materials in reserve in case I decide I want more. I'm aiming for 600 Oxygen minimum and I think I'd like more than that so I have plenty of time to hunt in the 10,000m+ area.
Awesome! Thanks for the information! Sounds like I'll accumulate PLENTY of goodies to have a decent run next time.
This is my 22,000th post by the way

Congrats Digs on the 22,000 posts!
I just resurfaced on my first dive.
Made it to 2510m
Still have 22 O2
Got enough stuff to craft 156 fishy fromage
Still have: 61 DC, 2 S, and 123 B.
24 Sand Dollars.
I ended up in a shipwreck and a pearl patch. The Pearl section was fairly short.
Edit: already up to 73 O2 and I still have 130 or so ff.
Edit: up to 104 with 114 ff. I'm guessing the dramatic increase is due to the lucky weekend?
DIVE DIVE DIVE
I ended up with 667 oxygen, minus 10 for the dive, which I am very pleased with. I bought one Water Jet charm which I will likely use right here at the beginning because I have a coral reef and shallow shoals back to back. Hoping to get lots and lots of good hunts out of the 10,000m area. The only thing I really plan to slow down for is a Sea Bar, and that's just to make sure I get a Sand Dollar Diver mouse which I'm still missing. Woohoo!
