Happy Easter, everyone.
Usually on Easter we have a big breakfast together, either at church or at home. This year we did it at home on Saturday at lunch time. :p My dad didn't think he'd have time before church on Sunday and my sister wanted time for my mom, me, and her to exercise and shower which would have made breakfast late. :p The breakfast at the church was just cereal, fruit and cinnamon rolls, which isn't very exciting. We had an egg bake and these stick rolls my sister makes (biscuits coated in cinnamon and sugar and then wrapped around marshmallows.) Today we had ham, scalloped potatoes, broccoli rice au gratin, corn, rolls shaped like bunnies, and cake with ice cream. I managed to cut my finger while scooping the ice cream. I didn't notice it at the time. Some of the ice cream had strawberry sauce swirled in it so there was no way to tell if I bled on it or not. :p

We watched It's the Easter Beagle Charlie Brown.

How will you be spending it?
Already done and dusted. The few days before Easter Sunday were dedicated to filming (Dad), playing guitar for the band (my youngest bro) and playing part of the crowd (myself) in our church Easter production. That was quite tiring but good fun. Yesterday (Easter Sunday) we went to church and then had a nice but quiet family lunch and ate chocolate. Today (Easter Monday) we're going to visit our auntie and uncle's place for lunch. Should be good!

What special meaning do these holidays have for you?

Easter time is a reminder of the complete hopelessness and sinful nature without Christ and how we need to be redeemed by him to LIVE. It's about suffering and eternal hope, and hope for this life too.

Do you have a favorite Easter memory?

Can't think of any. Most of them are pretty good. We have some really good church Easter productions and I do enjoy good chocolate. :)

What foods do your family usually eat on Easter?
It really varies. We sometimes have some lamb chops or chicken, and several salads. We also have icecream and cake. Other times we have curries or seafood and salads.

Whoa, Australia is a day ahead? It's still Sunday here in BC. :p That's so weird! I knew there was a time difference buit it never really clicked about people being a whole day ahead. :)

We had a great Easter dinner yesterday - 19 people crammed into my parents' relatively small house. ;)) Fortunately the weather was pleasant, so we could bring the kids (6 age 10 or under) outside for the egg hunt and keep them busy while other preparations were going on. And they liked eating dinner outside as well; it was like a picnic to them.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Friday night we had an agape feast (a meal of bread, fruit, and vegetables) and a communion service at our church. We set up our tables in the shape of a cross and had candles. It was a nice time, but somber because we were remembering all that Jesus went through for us.

I go to church on Saturday. We had a special choir of people from our church and people from the Methodist church singing at different times throughout the service and it was nice. Then we had a special pot luck. I made lemon bars and my mom made tabouleh salad. There was lots of good food, salads, pasta dishes. Someone brought strawberry pie.

Then yesterday on the actual day, I'd found out the goslings at the lake had hatched so I went with my parents to see them and barely got a glimpse because they were sleeping and the mama was chasing everyone who came near off. Then we made shepherd's pie for dinner and ate hot cross buns for dessert.

What special meaning do these holidays have for you?
The Friday night before is sad because of thinking about how much Jesus suffered for us. Then Sunday is the triumph because Jesus conquered death and will come back for us someday.

Do you have a favorite Easter memory? Egg hunts as a kid and the good meals. And more at the foreground as I get older, the sense of community I feel every year of being around other people who love Jesus and value what He did for us.

What foods do your family usually eat on Easter? Pretty much whatever we are in the mood for the main meal. We have hot cross buns almost every year.

Friday night around 11:00 PM I did communion with my parents and brother, that was kinda cool.
Saturday I went to my Opa and Oma's house and played Xbox with the cousins, pigged out of course, and played Apples to Apples. I really know my dad's side of the family so it was awesome. And of course we watched some hockey.
Sunday I ran in the morning, it was sunny and warm! And then I went to my grandma's place and hung out.

What special meaning do these holidays have for you?
Well it's always cool to remember what God did for me, having a holiday for just that is neat. It's awesome to see my relatives.

Do you have a favorite Easter memory?
Pigging out on easter eggs after searching for them in the house as a kid.

What foods do your family usually eat on Easter?
My Oma makes her famous goulash for the main dish, and she also makes bread, ham, mac and cheese, dressing, vegetable salads, chocolate cake, cheesecake, and strawberry shortcake. I don't know how she does it, but she loves to cook!
And of course there's the usual chocolate candy. I can feel myself getting fatter ;)

I went to a vigil mass for Easter. It was very beautiful. My family and I also had an delicious Easter lunch!

I believe Easter is the most important day on the Christian Calendar.

My family and I went to church sunday morning, but I stayed home with my little brother sunday night because he was sick. Our church had a contest which side could bring the most visitors in the weeks before Easter Sunday. Our side won, but it was so close that they called it a tie.

Easter is really special to me because it is when Christ paid the dowry for his bride (the Church) and bought us out of sin. We are Apostolic Pentecostals, so the Day of Pentecost is also really important.

My memories are pretty much the same every Easter, a new outfit, resurrection buns for breakfast, a candy basket from grandparents, and Chinese for lunch.
