Here are some questions to get us started.
-What is your favorite BarlowGirl album?
-Were you ever a member of the SoundPost before it closed?

-If so which one?

-Anything else you can think of.
My favorite album is How Can We Be Silent.
I was a member of the SoundPost and was really sad when it closed.
My favorite song is probably Never Alone but Song for the Broken is a close second.
No, I’ve never seen them in concert.
Nope I've never met BarlowGirl.
Winterlife got hooked on them and shared their music with me. Now, I'm the one who loves BarlowGirl and winterlife doesn't as much anymore.
I just bought the How Can We Be Silent music book and am learning to play the songs.
ooh yay! I was thinking of requesting a special feature for them
-What is your favorite BarlowGirl album? How Can We Be Silent
-Were you ever a member of the SoundPost before it closed? no but I went on frequently...why did it close?
-What is your favorite BarlowGirl song? hmm that's really hard. probably million voices. yeah that's my fave
-Have you ever seen them in concert? no but...
-If so which one? I almost went to the one in MA this past November
-Have you ever met BarlowGirl? I wish. They're really what got me in to music.
-Do you play or sing any of their songs? Yes. I have Another Journal Entry Folio so I can play (and sing) all of the songs in there, and I've kind of figured out a few other of theirs like Beautiful Ending and Here's My Life. I wand to get more of their songbooks.
-How did you first hear about BarlowGirl? the WOW CDs
-Anything else you can think of...
Who's you're favorite BarlowGirl? Rebecca
Have you read their book More Than Music? Yes, my friend gave it to me for my bday a few years ago
-What is your favorite BarlowGirl album?
I haven't heard none of the CDs to their entirety. It'll be either Another Journey Entry or How Can We Be Silent though.
-Were you ever a member of the SoundPost before it closed?
Never even heard of it actually.
-What is your favorite BarlowGirl song?
I Need You To Love Me
-Have you ever seen them in concert?
YES!!
-If so which one?
Just this past year at WAYFest, and they were amazing. ALl songs were done wonderfully life, especially Never Alone.
-Have you ever met BarlowGirl?
Yeah.. Don't we all wish.
-Do you play or sing any of their songs?
I'm not talented in this area sadly.
-How did you first hear about BarlowGirl?
A Friend from another church loved them from the beginning. She introduced my brother who then introduced me.
More Than Music,
what's it actually about?
The soundpost closed, umm, I'm not sure exactly why. I think they said something about it fullfilling it's purpose and it's time for a new chapter in the members's lives.
I haven't read the book but I'd like to sometime.
I'd like to get the AJE music book sometime because it has Never Alone in it but it's not super high on my list of priorities.
More than Music has their band's story and the meanings to the songs on their first two albums. It's a great book.
Yay! I love BarlowGirl!
-What is your favorite BarlowGirl album?
Hmm... it's a tough choice between How Can We Be Silent or Love & War, but in the end I think I have to say Love & War. They seem to get better with each album.
-Were you ever a member of the SoundPost before it closed?
Nope.
-What is your favorite BarlowGirl song?
Ah! Hard question! Me and my brother have always had a joint obsession with One More Round (by far my favourite song on How Can We Be Silent), but I also love She Walked Away and I Need You to Love Me and Hello Sunshine (which kind of reminds of The Beatles, oddly enough) and Love is Marching and... I'll just stop now before this list turns into a book.
-Have you ever seen them in concert?
Yes, once.
-If so which one?
It was at a youth conference waaaaay back like 4 or 5 years ago, just after Another Journal Entry came out. My friend and I had pretty awesome floor seats.
-Have you ever met BarlowGirl?
No, but that would be pretty cool.
-Do you play or sing any of their songs?
Well, I can't sing, but that doesn't mean I don't. However, I can kind of play Porcelain Heart on the piano. (Emphasis on kind of. I try to play piano as little as possible.)
-How did you first hear about BarlowGirl?
Gosh, I don't know. I think my big brother was on their MySpace and I asked him what he was listening to and the rest is history. He's the only boy I know that likes BarlowGirl. He bought me their first CD last Christmas when I couldn't find it anywhere. It was the only one I didn't have. Sometimes he's awesome.
I didn't know they had a book. I might have to go check it out now.
I shall not answer all the questions on here because to be honest I've only heard one song from this group before reading this thread.
-What is your favorite BarlowGirl song?
I Need You To Love Me
That would be my favorite song by them as well!
I have not heard very many songs by them... But I really really liked this song when I heard it first. Still Love the song.
To be quite honest I didn't know that "BarlowGirl" was a group instead of just one singer.
Though question for anyone that can answer this... Who is the lead singer? or at the very least if there is not a lead singer who does most of the singing in "I Need You To Love Me"?
Also I really don't remember how I first heard about them... I would guess I heard there song on the Radio.
EDIT:Can anyone help me out? I used to be able to do this on the old forum's... How do you quote a member?
I don't know how to do the quote thing either...*sigh*
but I can help you with your other questions
-Alyssa Barlow (the middle sister) is the lead singer, and sings the lead for I Need You to Love Me, though on some songs, Lauren Barlow (the youngest) sings lead. Becca Barlow is the oldest sister. I don't think she sings lead on any of the songs but she does harmony.
the book can be hard to find. At least in new condition. Here's the listing on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/BarlowGirl-More-T ... 1933876018
More than Music has their band's story and the meanings to the songs on their first two albums. It's a great book.
sounds interesting. I should check it out some time,
it's always good to have the story of the songs as it adds alot to the enjoyment of the song itself alot of the times.
A BarlowGirl SF? Hurray!
-What is your favorite BarlowGirl album?
Hmm... they have good stuff on all of them, but overall I'd have to say How Can We Be Silent. Oddly enough... I was disappointed with it at first!
-Were you ever a member of the SoundPost before it closed?
Oh, apparently I'm not a good fan... what is the SoundPost?
-What is your favorite BarlowGirl song?
This is an impossible question for me... so I'll just name some of my favorites! I Need You To Love Me, Never Alone, She Walked Away, I Believe In Love, Here's My Life, Sweet Revenge, Beautiful Ending, and Sing Me A Love Song... but there are so many others that I love too! They have the most amazing lyrics!
-Have you ever seen them in concert?
Sadly, no. But they're definitely high on my list of must-sees!
-Have you ever met BarlowGirl?
Again, nope.
-Do you play or sing any of their songs?
Not well, no
-How did you first hear about BarlowGirl?
Probably when Never Alone was featured on one of the WOW CDs.
More Than Music sounds very interesting! I'd never heard of it before, but I love hearing the stories behind songs, so I'll have to check it out sometime!
"Oh telescope, keep an eye on my only hope,
Lest I blink and be swept off the narrow road.
Hercules, you've got nothing to say to me,
'Cause you're not the blinding light that I need.
For He is the saving grace of the Galaxies."

The SoundPost (or SP) was the BarlowGirl's forum on their website. It was super popular and many people were sad when it closed about a couple of years ago.
Alyssa and Lauren share lead singing. They said in a FAQ on the SP that they try to share it equally. Becca sang lead for the first time on "What Child Is This?" on their Christmas album, Home for Christmas. I'm not sure if she sand lead on Love and War. I just got the album and haven't listened to it very much yet.
So after this thread was up... I decided to look up some more BarlowGirl songs... None of them really stuck out to me as I want to listen to it...
But I did find that I really enjoyed there song "Carol of Bells / Sing we now of Christmas".
I do find that with a lot of artist... I shall like one or two of there songs... But not anymore because all the songs start to sound the same to me...
I'm not saying that its true for me about BarlowGirl I have not listened to enough songs to know...
But the two songs I like I really really like... I would say there in my top 20 of Christian Music.
Well at least you like some. BarlowGirl's third CD is really good, you should listen to some of the songs off of there...
I like songs off of all of the albums but HCWBS is definetly my favorite. I also did not like it very well at first. It was.... not darker than their first two. More intense I guess is the word. But it grew on me after a few times listening to it.
I have the Premium Edition of it which has a DVD with the Never Alone and I Need You To Love Me music videos. It also had some behind the scenes videos on it.
Yeah I didn't like HCWBS b/c it sounded so different. And all the songs osunded the same too me. But it's definitely my favorite now!
