wow Lady Haleth I really liked that poem, you have a real gift :)

I wrote this one quite a while ago, when I was still new to writing poems, that is why it came out kind of...unoriginal. I like it though so I thought I'd share it

Autumn
How I love the bright autumn days
And the colors they send our way
How I love to watch the changing trees
And the transformation of the leaves

It seems to me just yesterday
At my feet summer lay
But now the world has changed from green
To one of yellow and red leaves

How I wish that it could stay
Forever and ever and ever this way
But on and on time must go
And the time will come for autumn to go

always be humble and kind

Thanks. I liked your poem too. That was beautiful imagery.

Hello all! I won't put my opinions on Poetry right now, mostly cause I really don't know what to put... I have a few favorites that I gathered from my Literature books in school...

But here is one that I like, written by Edgar Allan Poe, turned into a song... I know the words of the song, does anyone else?

Here is the poem:

Eldorado:

Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of Eldorado.

But he grew old -
This knight so bold -
And o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.

And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow -
"Shadow," said he,
"Where can it be -
This land of Eldorado?"

"Over the mountains
Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride,"
The shade replied -
"If you seek for Eldorado!"

"We are Spartans... impossible is what we do."

Nice poem, Edgar Allen Poe ain't a personal favorite of mine, but thic poem was nice

Here's another of mine

The Voice of Silence
Have you ever stopped to hear
The wind that gently blows
Have you ever heard the song she bears
As across the world she flows

Have you ever stopped and listened
To her almost silent song
At times loudly hissing
At times a melody so calm

Have you ever stopped to hear
The sound of the rushing stream
Have you heard the poem she bears
From the things she has seen

Have you ever stopped to listen
To her almost silent rhymes
At times loudly rushing
At times slowly passing by

Have you ever stopped to hear
The Creator’s quiet voice
In the voices the wind and water bear
To stop and listen is your choice

Stop in silence, stop and listen
You will hear a different tone
If you’re silent you will find
Silence has a voice of its own.

always be humble and kind

^Nice. I like it. :) Here's a poem dedicated to me because he did something which made me a bit disappointed:

forgiveness is what i ask
for not doing my task
i should've texted you last night
but my sim card was nowhere in sight
i tried hard to search for it
on all corners, with lights lit
i even had a row with my brother
just to find it much sooner
my effort did pay off at last
after sniffing all those dust
but when i got it inserted
i turned on, it's rejected

P.S. I waited for him for like up to 12 midnight... but I still forgave him. :)

yes sandy (hope you don't mind if I call you that) that was meant for you and as for me if what you meant is do I have any poems to post....well lets see....I think I've posted all the more or less good poem that I wrote...but hold on I'll look through what I have and see if there is anything worth posting

here's one that I think is nice, I wrote and dedicated it to my best friend

To my Best Friend
I am glad that I have you
And that you are my friend
Thank you for always being true
And staying true till the end

Just knowing that you are there
Keeps me company when I’m alone
Just knowing that you care
Keeps me glad when sorrow comes

A true love our friendship binds
And I thank you for all you do
I think everyone should try and find
A friend as true as you

Here's a funny poem of mine, inspired by the mentor stereotype:
Your Wise Old Mentor
I’ll tell you everything I know
And if I won’t, you’ll never know
I’ll teach you all kinds of nonsense
And terrible philosophy—
I am your Wise Old Mentor

I’ll withhold information
For no good reason
And ‘Reveal it at the proper time’
Or not, to frustrate you—
I am your Wise Old Mentor

I’ll tell you all these cryptic phrases
And make strange insinuations
I’ll tell you all the history
Of people you don’t care about—
I am your Wise Old Mentor

I’ll leave everything to teach you
For of course you are the hero
Because you have to Save the World
I’ll serve your Prophecy—
I am your Wise Old Mentor

Then after doing all of this
Scant thanks I get for it!
Halfway through the book I die
‘To develop your character’—
Its bad to be a Wise Old Mentor

Lady Haleth I just loved that poem, it just great, I like all you poetry actually, it comes out so beautiful and so pleasant to read :)

Thanks :) Yes I love my dear friend very much, sadly we don't live very near each other, but that doesn't spoil our friendship. I do write quite a bit of poetry but am to terribly shy to post them cause it's not like I'm a great poet or anything. Also somehow most of my poetry comes out very long

Here is another of my poems however that I guess came out ok, my sister had this picture of a fairy and she asked me to write a poem to the picture

Song of the Fairy
Hush and listen can you hear?
Come this way and lend your ear
Melody plays in the air
A song so sweet and sadly fair
A song of fairy with a lute
Accompanied by unseen flute
Sending to the air her sweet notes
That with the wind sadly float
A song of teardrop falling from her eye
Accompanied by silent sigh
She does weep of world so cruel
Where beasts of men do sit and rule
A world where love waxes cold
A world that lust for gold
A world deaf to babies cry
A world refusing to say why
Hush and listen you have heard
Song sweeter than that of birds
Keep this song in your heart
And in the world change your part
But think not that the song is done
For the song is still being sung
Better go and call your friend
And tell him all that I have said

always be humble and kind

Wow, I love poetry. After my first heartbreak I wrote more than 500 poems-many of them were bitter, some were angry, others were really sad. I really like re-reading some of them now just for fun. :)

Here's two from awhile ago:

Wandering sleepless, searching for respite
As lonely as darkness invading the night will
Shock
And your cowardly ways continue to
Mock
What I once believed was true,
Cause a long time ago, I believed in you.

One of the last poems I wrote-about a year ago:

Argentina.
When sleepless nights follow and haunting a dream-
Scream.
Counting worries, every care
You’ve been mentioned in all my prayers.
Not a day, not an hour, not a minute goes by
Beyond hope, and reason, and questioning why-
Chasing a haunting whisper, a dream-
Scream.
To where you are, a thousand miles away
(Whisper to me that you’re doing okay.)

Forever a proud Belieber

Live life with the ultimate joy and freedom.

^LOL. You cracked me up with that.

I wrote my first poem just about last week. ;)) When my teacher told us to write one and I was really having a fun time writing, really! I just scribble what I feel, and then there, I got a poem which expresses how I feel at that moment. i just realized that writing a poem from the heart really is very inspiring. Too bad though, I lost my first copy of it, hehe.
