AROOOOOOO!!!
Here's a few more photos. These are all from different assignments over the last few weeks. Midterms was on portraiture and I got some lovely portraits using my three sisters as models. I wish I could share them but I don't want to post their faces.
These are from a variety of assignments utilizing different techniques. All of them have some editing: color enhancement, sharpening, curves and levels, etc.

AstroWolf, I love your pictures!! The one of the bear is adorable. What camera do you use?
So I need some help.... forgiveness is begged if I have asked this before.
I have a question on cameras, because amazon's reviews are just confusing me. I was interested in saving for a Nikon Coolpix l120, but then I saw that, according to some reviewers, a) it does not work well for indoors (and I want a camera that works great indoors and outdoors) and b) it does not have much manual control. (if there's something I can't stand in a camera, it's lack of manual control. Our old 5MP Cannon PowerShot had a lot of manual control and took great pictures when it worked fine, so I really enjoyed the fact that it didn't try make up my mind for me. The one thing that annoys me to no end with the point and shoots today is that they are constantly setting things for you, never let you do anything, and when you try to, the picture is awful and blurry.) I don't think I can really invest in an SLR right now (I'd be interested in a Cannon Rebel XS... I've used our Cannon Powershot for sometime, and I think I like Cannons better, but I don't think it's possible to get this SLR and too, I think I'd rather learn on something smaller and then invest in an SLR later.), but want something that's a hybrid between a simple 80-dollar point and shoot and say, the Cannon Rebel XS, but I'd like it to have manual control, decent megapixels, good color quality, and good indoor and outdoor settings. (and I'd like to to perform well in zoom, macro mode, and taking good, clear pictures overall. And good color quality that captures what the real colors are means the world to me. ) What cameras should I look at? Thanks for the help.
I was looking at the Nikon Coolpix l120 (but the frustrations and confusion with it are listed above), the Nikon Coolpix 810. I really like the design of these, too, as they're large enough to be held, but don't seem to be bulky. (I like things that I can hold; not a huge fan of tiny cameras that are impossible to hold steadily.) The Cannon PowerShot sX150 doesn't look bad, but I'm just wondering if it'll be a bit too small to hold. (I'm looking for something that takes fast pictures, unlike our old Cannon Powershot, which is why I'd be more towards something that looks like the Nikon l120, but that one doesn't look exactly perfect....) In short, I'm interested in a substantial camera rather than a compact one. The sX40 doesn't look bad (it has manual control! Not terribly keen on an editing software in the camera, but I don't think I understand it completely. ), either, but is a bit above my budget. Help!! And thanks!!

I can finally recommend the Canon Rebel T3. Yes, my sisters and I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet, so we are the proud owners of a Canon Rebel T3. And it's amazing. I love it. We have only had a few days, but I think it will really help us improve our photography skills and our business.
A few pictures taken with the new camera.

Aslanisthebest,
What you should do is look at reviews from say CNet or Consumer Reports. Also, something with manual controls sounds like it'll fit you pretty well. Look for something that will serve your purposes. Will you need this for all around general photography? Do you have specific lighting types that you will be consistently shooting in? (low light, indoors, etc). Then go talk to someone at a store that sells these. See if they will let you hold them and get a feel for how they sit in your hands and where the controls are setup. Manual controls are key though because you'll get to manipulate the shot how you see fit rather than getting stuck with automatic.
