I've had a great opportunity to practice my photography at the zoo this past week. =) These are a few of the best photos. You can tell the wolves are my favorites.
I used my sister's Nikon Coolpix L120 to take these.
I've seen the movie...
LWW - 17+ (lost count)
PC - 7
VDT - 5
I loved them all!
Narnian Wolf, Heartmelt!!!! I wish I could get pictures that good. I especially like the last two.

Hopefully, you guys will be seeing more stuff from me soon. My photography class started yesterday. So far, I like it. My professor is awesome. He's really snarky and sarcastic and pretty funny. Anyway, I get to use a Canon 30D (I think, he mentioned what cameras we'll be using really quickly so I could be wrong.)
I'm super excited to get it. We check them out on Tuesday and then I get it for the rest of the semester.
Fire Fairy: I really like the first one. The focus on the bow turned out really well! And I LOVE the first Chicago one. It looks really neat with the lighting off that one building.
Narnian wolf: I love the third one with the light shining through the fur on the wolf. It looks really cool!
Nice pictures everyone! (Yours really caught my eye Narnian Wolf!) These pictures I took aren't the best quality, but I hope the subject matter makes up for that!

AROOOOOOO!!!
I say it again. *heartmelt!*
PS the wolverine looks so cute sleeping there... yet they can be so aggressive toward other predators- go figure

Nice pictures, AstroWolfD. I love the wolverine one.
However, is there manualish focus on it? .... If not the L120, I don't mind the L100 (which is more in my save-for-two-years budget. ) Do these allow someone to control? And, also, do they have shutter speed settings?
I looked up both cameras online. The 120, unfortunately, is one that my photography professor calls a "dummy SLR". It is designed to look similar to a DSLR but it doesn't give you all the controls and independence in shutter speed, aperture, and ISO settings. Also, you can't change lens. According to the review I read, you can control ISO in Auto mode but you can't control aperture or shutter speed (11th paragraph) which are arguably more important than ISO (definetly more important for beginners. My photography professor had us set our ISO to 400 and we aren't allowed to change it at all until mid-way through the semester). Also, as far as I can tell from the reviews I've read, there is not manual focus.
The L100 is similar but with even less control. This review says that on the L100, you can't control anything: ISO, shutter speed, or aperture (9th paragraph). Again, as far as I can tell, there is no manual focus.
Here's some new stuff from me. Taken with the Canon 30D I get to use from class. I love this camera so much!! It's amazing how much more I can do with it!
These were all edited slightly with either Photoshop or GIMP. Color adjustments (levels, curves, and saturation) and the watermark were the only things changed.
And I LOVE the first Chicago one. It looks really neat with the lighting off that one building.
Thank you! I really like it as well, so I played with it a little bit. Here's my version with text.

It's wonderful to be back on here! All the pictures up here are so pretty, good work everyone!
We recently got snow here for the first and last time this winter I think. I went for a hike out in the woods/photography session. When I was done, I took my favorite pictures and edited them--enhanced the color, adjusted the lighting and coloring, etc...let me know what you think!
"welcome back winter once again"
Here's another picture I took earlier this last December.
And then here's an older picture that I recently edited just for fun. This was taken the same day I took the "light meets the dark" picture, but instead of making this one black and white contrasted, I decided to go for the rainbow effect.
FYI, my hair is not that color. I edited it to make it look like that.

Fire Fairy, that text looks perfect on your picture! Nice job!
Cool doodle, The Pendragon! I love the colors.
Wow, Dani! Your pictures are amazing! So beautiful!
These are for last Monday, when we had several inches of snow! It's our backyard and, yes, those are snowflakes falling.

That's some serious snow SnowAngel!
These are some pictures I took when I visited the UK Wolf Conservation Trust for my birthday last week. They did NOT turn out well. The viewing platform was closed, so all of these have some beautiful chain link messing up the shot. These are really the only ones I could salvage.
If everything goes right I'll have a job there this summer, so maybe I'll be able to get better pics then.

AROOOOOOO!!!
AstroWolfD, it was some of the best snow ever! I wish it hadn't melted the next day. We had an awesome sled track, it was packed to perfection. I hope you get the job, your pictures are pretty good even with the fence.
I took these in the backyard on Monday. The sunset was so beautiful.
