Inception I found to be terrific! Saw it twice in theaters and can't wait for DVD to buy it. Shutter Island I found to be good, but not great- the ending was WOW though. I will try to see it again, it looks like it be available instantly on netflix Dec 31. As I have seen it before I don't mind doing that wait.
Two other movies I recently saw, both of them I disliked when I first saw them:
The Princess and the Frog. I really disliked this movie but since it was available instantly I decided why not? Though there are still things I find questionable I did enjoy it much more this time around. I was able to appreciate other aspects of the movie, even though I still didn't love it.
Son of Rambow,
available instantly for 2 more days. I just found out it was available and figured again, why not? I didn't love it, but there was an improvement from the first time I saw it. Will Poulter was very good, and it makes me more excited yet to see him in Narnia.
Inception was brilliant, as was Shutter Island but the latter is pretty depressing. I too can't wait for Inception to be released on DVD. Glad you enjoyed it!
Currently watching:
Doctor Who - Season 11
I am going to watch Shutter Island since you guys gave it an A or B grade, lol. I saw its trailer and found it to be veryyyyyy thrilling. Hope it is good!

I really enjoyed Shutter Island and Inception. Both 'blew my mind' in different ways. The idea of ending the latter with

These two movies were the first I'd seen DiCaprio in since I first saw Titanic (which I did not care for, and will never see again). He is quite a convincing actor, I find.

I agree with you Jo. I kind of like DiCaprio movies these days. Most are very exciting and mind twisting because mostly in our generation in my point of view, hollywood is usually conquered by vampires.

Inception was awesome, so far my favorite movie of the year!
I saw it twice in theaters and I’m really looking forward to the DVD release on Dec 7! I can‘t wait to see it again!
@sandyentersNarnia: I agree about the Vampires , don’t forget about the Zombies too though.

Funny this page is all about DiCapri cause I just saw two movies starring him. One, Catch Me If You Can, was about a highschool kid who forges checks and convinces people he's a doctor, lawyer, teacher, and pilot. It was pretty interesting, and get this, based on a true story! I would definetly reccomend it.
The other one, called The Aviator, is a bio-pic about the life of Howard Hughes, a movie producer and aviator. The movie wasn't particularly WOW for me, as in it didn't stand out, but it was a good one. The film fleshed out the theory of Howard being an OCD sufferer, and I thought they did a very good job on that aspect. Some scenes were so poignant, and frustrating, and just UGH, but that's how they were supposed to make you feel.
Although the movie wasn't in and of itself "WOW" for me, one part was: Cate Blanchette, playing the role of Katherine Hepburn. Generally, movies with people trying to impersonate such famous , well known figures flop (Jennifer Love Hewitt as Audrey Hepburn, anyone?). This....Cate as Kate was just utterly fantastic. She really IS Hepburn in this movie! The accent, the mannerisims and facial expressions. Not to mention she even looks a bit like her. So that was pretty much amazing, and I'd watch the movie again just for her parts.

I watched the Hallmark Hall Of Fame movie that premiered on TV last night called "November Christmas" and I loved it!

Valiant_Lucy,
I absolutely love Catch Me If You Can, it's one of my favorites! and I love to watch it around this time of year. The Aviator is a harder sit, a bit slow at first I admit, but terrific. DiCaprio was excellent I think, and you are right about Blanchett- I loved her!!
RIP Leslie Nielson, who died November 28 at age 84. Though probably best known for his zany roles in movies like Airplane! and the Naked Gun series, he actually was first known as a serious actor in movies like the classic sci-fi Forbidden Planet (1956) and the 1972 disaster flick The Poseidon Adventure.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Valiant_Lucy: Another DiCaprio movie? Well I bet it is an awesome one. Leo never fails to "wow" me with his performances starting from Titanic.

The Naked Gun flicks were where Nielsen really found his niche, I think. Those were utterly hilarious films A fact I didn't find out until years afterward was that they were based on a 6 episode long series on TV called "Police Squad!" starring Nielsen as, of course, Lt. Frank Drebin. While Airplane! was a major moment in his career it was the Naked Gun films that really cemented his image as a comedic force on the screen. He will be sorely missed...

My favorite role that he played was Dracula in Dracula: Dead and Loving It by Mel Brooks. I've heard many say this version of Dracula was the best one, even though it was the spoof.
Mr Magoo was never a good movie but it was fun to see a live action version with Nielsen as the title character.
Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.
On the 20-21, my older siblings and I watched The Bourne Identity. Then on T-Day, we watched The Bourne Supremacy. And finally Sunday night got to start The Bourne Ultimatum. (Boy, am I glad we didn't "discover" these films when they were first coming out...couldn't stand waiting years between watching them!) I'm so ready to finish TBU, but it's a school night. TBU isn't the kind of movie you should stop in the middle of, KWIM?
I really liked The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy. I only have one problem with the movies so far, and that is several of the bad guys in these movies are good guys in some other movies I've previously enjoyed. I really liked them when they were on the right side! But now I don't think I'll ever watch those movies the same way again.
Has anyone else seen The Bourne Trilogy?

I love the Bourne Trilogy! Ultimatum is the best IMO, Identity is a close second, Supremacy is very good but my least favorite for some reason. I didn't catch them when they were first out either.
I saw the first two on DVD back to back, I did have to wait about a year for the third though, and then didn't see it in theaters either- waited for DVD.
