Valiant_Lucy: Ooh! I watched half of it. It was thrilling for me. I just watched up to where
"Two sides of the same coin"
I get chills every time in this scene. You know the one: Frodo has slipped on the ring and been spotted by Sauron. Aragorn finds Frodo and doesn't give into the temptation of the ring. Then Aragorn rounds the corner and you see hundreds of Uruk-Hai making their way towards them. Creepy!
ooh, I LOVE that bit!it's so scary and awesome at the same time!

Just re-watched How To Train Your Dragon, hadn't seen seen it since opening weekend. Glad I have the DVD, and for sure this is the best animated movie this year for me. (Toy Story 3 is great, but I prefer this one).
I love that movie, narnian1!! It's so sweet, and actually today I was thinking how I wanted to see it again.
I think Toy Story 3 was little better, but How to train your Dragon was way up there!!

How To Train Your Dragon was pretty good, but a little to dumb for my tastes. Toy Story 3 was really good though.
I need to see How To Train Your Dragon.....never got a chance to when it was in theaters!
I LOVE Toy Story 3!

just finished rewatching August Rush, which originally released Thankgiving week of 2007, alongside Enchanted. I love this movie! I don't watch it very often, but about this time of year I see it. It never fails to make my day. I love the story, (a type of fairy tale), and I love the music/songs in it. Terrific.
August Rush is a way better movie than the reception it was given. No, it doesn't have the strongest of plot story lines, but it is a really good movie. Freddie Highmore yet again delivers an outstanding performance. I still have not seen a movie in which I didn't like Highmore's performance. Here, I truly love how Freddie Highmore displays his character's ability to hear and understand music. The way the movie is able to blend classical chello with a modern rock band is sensational. The only potential downer to the movie is the sudden ending. It leaves you wishing there was more for the conclusion, even in the form of credit scenes.
Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.
I rewatched Bright Star tonight in conjunction with my class on Romanticism. I John Keats and Bright Star is not only about his life, but it is also a movie of heart aching beauty. Most of the movie is just people staring out windows and such, but it's one of the most beautiful love stories I've ever seen filmed. I also love the incredible directing and cinematography. They also work lots of Keats' poetry into the film, which is so so lovely.
FencerforJesus, I wouldn't call the ending a potential downer. I think it's perfect the way it ended, had they given a bit more- be it in credits or pictures- it would have seem cliche and boring, (for me at least). We know what happens, I don't think it needed to be shown directly, I personally love the ending as it is. But I have seen many voice the same opinion as you.
I wasn't talking about just seeing the three together. That much is clear. But it does leave you wondering if they would rescue the rest of the kids under Wizard and teach them music instead of exploiting them. Just seeing them as a family wasn't necessary, but seeing what they did as a result of August's adventure would be interesting.

oh, most people usually want more closure with the three, but like you agreed, that much is clear. Also, I can see where you are coming from with the other kids. I would assume something came from it, but I have to admit that I never really gave it much thought (beyond Arthur), since the movie isn't really about them.
^I agree
So a couple days ago I had the pleasure of watching Avatar and it was just...blech . It was ridiculously predictable and I hate all these Liberal movies with their "Americans are evil, save the planet" preachy messages. I'm into recycling and whatever but how many ways can they shove this message down our throat? Of course the CGI was amazing, but that was pretty much the only good part. I didn't even like the soundtrack much . Definitely not rewatching, and I'm glad I didn't waste money to see it in theaters, although I'm sure the graphics were much nicer in that setting and all...whatever .
@Glenstorm the Great:
Ditto about the Liberal movies.
And yes the Graphics were way better in theaters, it was awesome!
I actually like Avatar, yes its predicable, its nothing special minus its graphics, but I think the reason I like it is because the world of Pandora, so its actually the world I like, not so much the story.
