wait, I think I'm confused, it's a movie of Jason Statham, with those cars that are made of steel and weapons.. I find it cool though, sorry if you guys don't find it good the way I do.

That's the remake. No, no need. What I'm saying is that there's really no plot to speak of. It's an excuse for over the top action mayhem. Not a problem with that - the movie's not trying to be anything else.

Doctor Who - Season 11
thanks ^.
I kind of missed Toy Story. I haven't watched the latest sequel yet. I'm planning to watch it soon. Andy has really changed a lot in Toy Story 3.

I just got the DVD of "Extraordinary Measures" out of the library! I am going to watch it as soon as possible and then I will let you all know what I think!

I haven't seen the new Death Race with Jason Statham. To my understanding the basic plot is that a bunch of prisoners are given a chance to get out of jail by participating in a race in souped up cars with machine guns strapped to them. They throw all the prisoners into a closed circuit and the last one still alive wins amnesty. Or some such.
The original was quite clever, but forever relegated to the ranks of low budget B-movies. I think that they were trying to do some sort of social commentary with the film, but all I remember is a very young Sly Stallone as "Machine Gun Vitalo", or something like that. Carradine stole the show as Frankenstein though...that one line where he reveals he's got a grenade built into the palm of his hand and he shows it to his navigator and says in a totally serious voice..."it's a hand grenade". Hooooo boy...had me crackin' up good.

Liberty Hoffman,
I thought Extraordinary Measures was ok, I only saw it because my parents recommended it. I can't say I cared much for it though, hope you enjoy it however.
Shadowlander: Nice! Now I know some facts about Death Race. Who starred in the original one?

I consider Prince of Persia a past movie now. I hope it comes out on DVD soon, I loved that movie!
Long Live King Caspian & Queen Liliandil Forever!
Jill+Tirian! Let there be Jilrian!
@DamselJillPole: I Loved Prince of Persia to!
It comes out on DVD September 14th, I’m really looking forward to watching it again!

I haven't seen Prince of Persia yet because there were just too many movies I wanted to see in theaters around the time it came out, and I couldn't see all of them. From the trailers, I got the impression it would be a cheesy action flick, but maybe I'm wrong...I'll just have to wait for September 14th to roll around.

I admit I had rather low expectations of The Prince of Persia - especially after the disappointment of The Last Airbender - but was pleasantly surprised, in an Indiana Jones-sort of way.
I watched last year's Star Trek reboot yesterday (prompted by friends humming the theme song ). I still rank it among the best of the Trek movies - though the constant lens flares were annoying. (When watching this in the theater, I really didn't notice them, perhaps because I was caught up in the movie itself. But hearing Abrams on the DVD commentary - that they actually went in and added more lens flares - made me all too aware of how frequent they are).
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
I just wish Prince of Persia had done better at the box office, I hoped for sequels. I thought it was a very enjoyable movie- not as good as PotC, but a much better effort than it's getting credit for.
@narnian1: Yes I would Love a sequel! It is a shame it didn't do better.
Maybe if the DVD sales do well there may be a little hope.
@stargazer: I Loved the new Star Trek! We actually watched it again a few weeks ago.
Before seeing the newer Star Trek I knew absolutely nothing about the franchise, the newest one just laid everything out so nicely so it was easy for me to follow for someone who was new to the Star Trek franchise.
I Loved the casting! They did a great job! I really can't wait for the sequel which is due out in 2012!

I just saw Extraordinary Measures! it was awesome! I don't know why everyone in all the reviews said it was dull! it was well done and well cast (I though Brendan Fraser and Harrison ford did an awesome job together) and by the end I was in tears, not to mention the times I was in tears during the film! I hihgly recommend this movie to anyone who has not seen it! a truly triumphant story of hope and endurance and faith! amazing! haha, i cried a lot for sadness and joy during the film! it was a moving movie!

Liberty Hoffman, glad you enjoyed it, but I agree with the reviews- the movie *was* dull and the acting I found to be mediocre. By the end, I was just happy it was over and done with. But again, glad you were able to enjoy it.
