I like Dinosaur! :D
That, Jurassic Park, and The Land Before Time is the reason I grew up liking Dinosaurs, my sister still Loves T-Rexes. :p

I re-watched Signs last night with my younger cousins. I Love that movie :D. I remember watching it in theaters and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! It was the closest thing to a scary movie for me at the time. I Love the story and how everything tied together in the end! Both Signs and The Sixth Sense are my favorite M. Night Shyamalan movies! :)

I prefer The Sixth Sense to Signs but those two are my favorite movies by him. TSS is one of my favorite movies EVER. Signs is terrific, minus the ending with the .

I haven't like any of his other movies, though I haven't even bothered with The Happening- didn't interest me. Waiting now for The Last Airbender, but though he directs it I don't see it as totally his as its an adaptation, his other works are all original I think- could be wrong. :)

The Happening is an okay movie. In some parts it is pretty scary and is M. night's first R rated movie. Sixth Sense was fantastic! Another M. Night movie you should check out is Unbreakable, now that movie was great. It starts out a little bit slow but it takes off when you least expect it. ;)

I absolutely hated Unbreakable :| I just didn't like the story to it at all.
The Village I disliked as well, didn't hate it as much but I still didn't like it.

Aww, I love The Village and Unbreakable. :) I probably should try Signs again, since the one time I watched it I was in my "I hate alien movies" stage and really didn't even give it a chance. And I really, really need to see The Sixth Sense.

After talking with Val about screwball comedies on here, I decided I needed to watch a few more myself, and started by ordering The Awful Truth (1937) from the local library. It wouldn't be my first recommendation for someone who wants to get acquainted with screwballs, and among "comedies of remarriage" it is inferior to His Girl Friday (although certainly better than the trashy, banal and highly overrated The Philadelphia Story), but for those who are already familiar with the genre, I would definitely recommend it. The plot centers around a married couple (Cary Grant and Irene Dunne) who suspect each other of infidelity, divorce, and then begin to interfere with each other's subsequent attempts at romance. The story isn't incredibly attractive, and it's all a bit disorganized to boot, but some of the dialogue is wonderful, and the cast is so good that they make the material seem even better than it is. We all know Cary Grant, and he's in his usual comedy mode here, but Irene Dunne is the film's big surprise. Not nearly as well-known today as some of her contemporaries, she also starred in dramas (Anna and the King of Siam, opposite Rex Harrison) and musicals (the first "talkie" version of Show Boat), but I've never seen her act so well as in this laugh-fest. I think the genius of this pairing is that both of the stars have an air of elegance and respectability that at first obscures their wildness and excellent comic timing. They get excellent support from Oscar-nominated Ralph Bellamy, playing his typical blockhead role, and the wry Cecil Cunningham, who appears in what seems to be her only featured role (!). My favorite bit is when Grant breaks in on Dunne's vocal recital. Hah indeed! 7/10

I totally agree! I just get so hyper and excited whenever I hear that there's gonna be a movie about Dinosaurs! A T-rex terrifies me a lot and one time I dreamt of it chasing me, hahaha!

Watching the horror film, Mirrors was very challenging! I am scared of horror but I love horror! I know, it's confusing haha. *looks in the mirror and tells myself I'm totally weird with what I said* But, I didn't watch it, cause, it was too brutal for me. lol :))

the trashy, banal and highly overrated The Philadelphia Story)

Uh, what?! Since when is The Philadelphia Story trashy and banal? I have to say that's one of my favorite movies, actually. Every time I watch it Jimmy Stewart managed to make me smile, and Katherine Hepburn is magnificant! And Cary Grant...well, is Carey Grant. :P

As for screwball comedies, I just got two from the library--Bringing Up Baby, and Operation Petticoat! I haven't seen either of them, but I'm quite excited to!

The last couple of movies I've seen where two Marilyn Monroe films-- The Seven Year Itch (pretty blah), and There's No Business Like Show Business (which I felt was unfairly marketed as a "Marilyn movie" as she wasn't the main character and was hardly in it at all! Also a musical which I wasn't too fond of). Then one of Hitchcock's earliest--and his first sound film--Blackmail. It was...amusing. You could tell it was on the edge of the silent-film era, as the acting wasn't too fantastic, and in the few random close-ups of the heroine, she made extremely dramatic looks that were way overdone. I found parts of it confusing, but once I got into it I enjoyed it. My main qualm with it was the character of the girl--she was way too innocent, weak, nothing to admire!

Maybe I need to watch The Philadelphia Story again, but I recall being quite disgusted with the morals of almost every single character in the movie. It's like Gone with the Wind: despite the fact that that both movies were wonderfully cast, I couldn't even admire the performances, because the people in the stories themselves were so unlikable to begin with. That includes Jimmy Stewart, believe it or not; I still cannot believe he won the Oscar for that film, and firmly believe (as he did) that it was "deferred payment" for his work on Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

I love Bringing Up Baby! Operation Petticoat looks good too, although the fact that it hails from 1959 probably means that it's not a "screwball" in the strictest sense.

From what I know about her (and believe it or not, I've only seen one of her movies), many of the films that Marilyn Monroe only made small appearances in are now marketed as "Marilyn movies." Anything that sells, you know? And Blackmail was Hitch's first "talkie," so it's no surprise that it plays like a silent movie. I really need to see that one!

I watched "Remember me" tonight requested by one of my friends. At first I didn't know what to expect having already my favorite actress from 'Lost" in it acting alongside Robert Pattinson. But i will say that that fulled me. It was a fantastic movie and now I am a fan of Robert Pattinson after seeing that.

It was great, though if some of you plan on seeing it have lots of tissues by your side!

Your favourite actress from LOST wouldn't be Claire Littleton then, would she? ;)

Well what I pretty much meant was one of my favorite actresses from Lost, since I love that show. But yes she is one of my favorites out there. I thought she did a fantastic job and American accent in the movie too.

You mean Emilie de Ravin? ;) :P

I didn't really have any desire to see Remember Me, mostly because of Robert Pattinson. :P I really liked him when he was Cedric in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire before the whole Twilight craze happened; but after I saw Twilight and then saw GoP, I could barely stand Cedric! Which was really sad since I do really like the character. :(

It's sad but I don't think I can ever disassociate Robert Pattinson with Edward Cullen. At least not until the Twilight craze is over. :(
