I finally got to seeing Driving Miss Daisy for the first time and I gotta say it's a very good movie. Nice and easily told, but with alot to tell. Wonderfully acted by both leads. All around a great movie, definitely recommended. :)

my parents love that movie! I have seen it several times since I was young and I really like it. we finally bought a copy a few months ago! :)

I just recently watched the Jurassic Park films again. The original is definitely the best. And in my opinion it was way ahead of its time. Considering when the movie came out, the special effects are very good. Something about dinosaurs is just interesting to me :p

I was wondering, has anyone seen Quentin Tarantino's "Inglorious B" movie? (not typing the last part of the title cause it contains a profraity)

I'd been curious by it for a while now, and finally got a chance to see it last night. It was...interesting, not really what I was expecting. I did enjoy it and would probably buy it on dvd, but I definetly could have done with a bit less violence. Anyone else seen it? :)

^I thought it looked interesting, but I'm not a fan of a certain actor in that movie ;) . Plus since the title has profanity, I'm sure the rest of the movie isn't that clean...

I did watch Lorna Doone last night. I really liked it but the book was better, of course. But everyone was very well cast. I just wish it had been longer- 150 minutes is not enough time to fit in such a complicated plot (which why they cut certain things out, or didn't explain them enough :| ).

I will say that I am a huge fan of Elvis Presley's works. My top favs of him would have to be Jailhouse Rock, Viva Las Vegas, and Double Trouble.

Some more favs are: Bye Bye Birdie, Wizard of Oz, Gone With the Wind, The Three Stooges, A lot of movies with Boris Karloff, To Sir With Love, The West Side Story, The Birds, The Graduate, Valley of the Dolls, Tootsie

I have a lot to list. Will be back. ;)

lol :p . I think the reason I don't like it is b/c I have bad memories of being forced to read the books and write essays about it and watch the movie and write about that too...for school :p .

There's too much singing and dancing in it. :P That and the fact that it's a dumbed down version of the book, but then movies generally never are as good as the book.

I love the Wizard of Oz. It is one of the very (VERY) few movies I love that contains musical numbers. I love it more because the musical numbers aren't the movie, only enhance it (which is really my main beef with musicals to start with ;)) ).

It's kind of a magically surreal movie which I'll always watch if it's on. The Wicked Witch used to scare the pajamas off me when I was 5 and I'd bury myself under my dad's leg when she did her "I'll get you my pretty!" routine. Did you know Buddy Ebsen (Jed Clampett) was originally supposed to play the Tin Man, but he had some sort of allergy to the face paint and couldn't do it. Shirley Temple was in the short list to play Dorothy, too. And ever since I was 5 I've always wondered where the Orange Brick Road leads to. Hmmm....

(decides to keep track of how many people say "Hey, there's no Orange Brick Road! Only a Yellow Brick road! ;)) )

I can't stand that movie, especially because of the Munchkins (not their height, the creepy clothes they wear and the way in which they dance). Also, Dorothy is a complete ditz and a passive 'hero', unlike the original book. It's just annoying. But it's good that many people love it. I just think it gets too much love.

I was wondering, has anyone seen Quentin Tarantino's "Inglorious B" movie?

Yeah, I have actually, and loved it! Wasn't too sure if I would or not, going into it, but it's some of Tarantino's best work to date in my opinion. I'm not even a big Tarantino fan but the way that tension kept getting cranked up in those scenes until it was unbearable - and the whole film followed that pattern on a larger scale. And the dialogue was superb. Not to mention Christoph Waltz... Masterfully done.

Well worth watching, if you don't mind violence (admittedly of the more extreme kind).

Oh, exactly. The suspense was massive!! I was holding my breath through quite a few parts. I probably wouldn't have minded about all the violence so much if

Spoiler
Diane Kruger's character, and Shoshanna, hadn't died :'(

I haven't seen anything else by Tarantino, but I'm not sure I want to if all his movies are as violent as this one.
