And...it's all over. At least in my part of the country. And until I start on the next round of the editing process (and the next, and the next...)
Just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my first NaNoWriMo ever, and it's all thanks to NarniaWeb, since I found out about it here.
Congrats to everyone who won! And to those who accomplished great things whether they won or not!

I WON!!!! Just before 11:30pm my time I passed the 50k mark, though my novella is not done yet. Congrats to everyone who won and good job to everyone that participated!
They're doing that?!! Oh my gosh!!! AWESOME!! That's just delightful!! If I'm understand it correctly. You pay for one copy, and shipping, and then you get all the others for free, except shipping?
Edit: From reading the actual thread, it sounded like you just have to pay for shipping, and you don't have to buy the first copy. Is that correct? And what is the drawback? *isn't very bright*
Yes, you do have to buy the first (proof) copy but only if you've never ordered a proof from them before. It'll be obvious when you upload your book to them. If you're eligible you'll see an option to skip it.
The drawback is that publishers might consider your book published if you print the 5 copies because createspace assigns your book an ISBN. This would be a problem if you intended to try to publish your novel later through agents/publishing houses.
Announcement!! For all Nwebbers who did nano, whether you won or not you have a story to tell of the past month. I would like to interview all willing NWeb nanoers on my blog for the month of january (and perhaps beyond if I have enough people). If you want to join in for a written interview, post here or pm me. I'll send out the questions via pm sometime before the end of december for you to answer. I've already got 6 people signed up!

Phew... with less than two hours to go, I got in 50,003 words. Not the 75,000 I was going for, but oh well.
By the way, I will have links to what I have written for anyone who is interested. I can give those out over PM.

Yeah, I'm happy. I have never seen the winners' page before, and it made me hyper.
Menelve, if you want to interview me, I would enjoy it.

Congratulations to all the winners!
So, yeah, didn't finish. Oh well, maybe next year. I feel like I didn't accomplish much but I know I did because I have never written that many words for one story before. I'm going to try and keep going and get to 50K anyway. I won't finish in a month, but it will still be a good experience I think. Or maybe I'm just looking for an excuse to write something other than homework.
Menelve, an interview sounds like fun. Count me in!
I'll do it Menelve Just let me know when...I have to find a good necktie and wear my cufflinks though. Gotta look good for the cameras.

I can't believe that NaNo is over, congrats to all the winners
I don't think I'll be able to take createspace up on their offer, all because I can't pay for the shipping (it's not cheap sending things all the way to Russia), so yeah, I'll probably have to pass this year
I still have to finish my novel and do some SERIOUS editing, I was changing the plot as I was writing so I came up with quite a bit of contradictions my second NaNo came along pretty well, I didn't get as much as I wanted written, but it was fun to do it in the last three days
Menelve, I'd love to do the interview, you can count me in
always be humble and kind
And... I did it too. With about 30 secs to spare, but I did it!!
My story took some changes though that I'm not entirely sure I'm happy with... Kinda odd. It's supposed to be light hearted, and while my MC has stayed consistent, the mood of the story took a dark turn towards the end of the 50k. I guess it was reflecting my mood, now that I think about it...
But, at least I made it! And some NWebber's (you know who you are ) helped with a big decision I had to make; one that popped up on me unawares and that I had to roll with. It made for an interesting addition to my MC's motives for the rest of the novel, actually. Oh, and speaking of which, the novel isn't actually finished. Just the 50k.

Congrats to everyone! Ya'll did a wonderful job!
I'd love to do an interview, Menelve!
One other question about the Create Space offer (no drawback for me, since I don't want mine published) - do you have to buy (or order) all five books together? Because that would stink. I have to order one at a time till I'm satisfied.

Wow, I don't think I've posted in here since NaNo actually started. But I won! It felt like a bit of an anticlimax since my novel isn't actually done... but oh well. I'm a bit annoyed about this CreateSpace offer, because I didn't manage it last year, and was looking forward to it, but now it sounds like I'll have to pay (for shipping, at least)? I don't even want 5 copies - 1 is fine. Also I'm still a bit confused about how it works - could someone explain it to me? You order and proof copy and then 5 others...? Can you just get the proof and stop there?
Or I could just wait and try to go through the process if/when I get my novel edited to a satisfactory standard...
Congrats to everyone who made it!

I woooooon! Beat the clock with about an hour and a half to spare yesterday night. I wound up with 50,490 words--unfortunately, however, I only made it halfway through my outline, so there's a lot more to be written.
I'm not too happy with the CreateSpace offer... it pretty much blows any chance of getting your book published properly, should you ever choose to do so. So I won't be doing it (*sniffle* I wanted a shiny book!).
Menelve, that sounds cool! I'd be willing to do it.
Congrats to all our winners! Wonderful job.
On paper ( ) my NaNo this year was not a winner, coming in around 45,000 words in November. But aside from that, I'm pretty pleased with it - and had a great time (especially as I had no computer or internet access the last week of November, and wrote a few thousand words by hand, but had no way to get to the NaNo site for verification).
I'm looking forward to finishing and editing this story anyway. Some of the hardest parts to write (such as the main plot event - the death of a main character) are yet to come.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
CONGA RATS TO EVERYONE!! It was so pleasant to pop in this morning to find so many winners.
One other question about the Create Space offer (no drawback for me, since I don't want mine published) - do you have to buy (or order) all five books together? Because that would stink. I have to order one at a time till I'm satisfied.
Yes, you have to order the 5 books at one time. But you'll have a chance to change things after you order the proof copy (that's the whole purpose to a proof) and there's no limit to how many proofs you can order but you do have to pay for each one.
I'm a bit annoyed about this CreateSpace offer, because I didn't manage it last year, and was looking forward to it, but now it sounds like I'll have to pay (for shipping, at least)? You can just get the proof if you want, but it won't be free like in past years. There's nothing that says you have to go beyond a proof. However the code for 5 free books is only for 5 copies after you've approved the proof and published it with them.
Thanks for everyone who wants to do the interviews! Do spread the word about it to other Nweb nanoers who don't look in here regularly. I want as many people as possible! Again, pm me or post in here if you want to join in. I'm drafting the questions right now.
Shadowlander dress however you like but it's a written interview. Sorry no cameras, unless you want to take a pic of yourself and send it to be included in the interview post on my blog.

Wow, super congrats to those who managed to win at the last minute! That's awesome.
I'm still kind of confused about the createspace offer, because the book I'm working on is actually one I'd like to get published eventually. I wanted to get those copies for editing purposes to hand out and get feedback from others...it would be very convenient but I guess I can't without it getting assigned a ISBN. Sad...
Oh Menelve I'd love to join in on the interviewing.
