I am proud to present you with a new round of Mod of the Weeks. This is the one chance you get to ask a mod anything you have ever wondered about them. I'm very happy to be able to start off this round of motws. And, personally, I'm hoping to top the current record of 800 questions answered in one motw.
So, without further ado....
Name: Amë Claire
Any other nicknames(s): Hmmm.... Lady A, Lady, LA, Arwen, Wren, Wren-y-wren-wrill-lil-loo, Really EVUL Elf Lady, The Overweight Orange, Arwie, Clai...I think that mostly covers it. At work, I get called “Chris” (my dad’s name) on a semi-regular basis.
Country/area living in: About an hour away from Sacramento, CA, and an hour and a half away from San Francisco. The LA area has kinda been my secondary home, but in that case, I’m usually staying in a hotel.
Approx age: Unkown, rumors range from around 20 to 40.
Personal info: I’m an only child, and grew up in a country home, so I’m used to spending a lot of time by myself. I will vary from being outgoing and vivacious to reserved and quiet. I am Christian, Pentecostal to be exact. I tend to be a know-it-all, and spend a lot of time researching weird subjects. Throughout junior high and highschool, I was highly active in competitive speech and debate, and since graduation, have continued my involvement by returning to judge and coach. I’m quite independent, but can still be quite a homebody.
Hobbies: Filmmaking, Fashion, Computer Graphics and Animation, Quilting, People-watching, Reading, Tennis, Volleyball, Writing, Working with Cats (you train a cat to do tricks. ), and various other things.
Professional info: I’m working on getting my college degrees (going for Bachelors from two different schools), and, in the interim, I work in direct sales, through Blessings Unlimited, and also as an independent contractor for make-up and moulage, usually for film. I also work on Every 15 Minutes, an anti-underage drinking and driving program. Our specific area happens to have one of the leading programs in the U.S. I’m also currently working on an independent film called No One Cared. Our slightly sparse production blog is located here. Finally, I teach pre-K children on a bi-weekly basis.
Physical Stats: 5'9.5'', very dark brown, nearly black hair, eyes that can’t determine their color (usually hazel, brown or blue), and, depending on the season, either paper-white or a nice, dark tan skin..
As it was once the norm to post a picture of yourself when it was your turn for motw, I will post one, however, it is not accessible to me at this moment. Check back for it later.
Later... Ta-da!
Most embarrassing moment in last 12 months: I do my best not to embarrass myself. I do tend to drop stacks of important papers at meetings, though. That can be pretty embarrassing.
Favorites:
Books: This...is going to be hard. In no particular order: Machiavelli’s The Prince, Jane Eyre, Colditz, Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, The History of the American People, The Story of the Irish Race, Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, The Hobbit, Until the Day Breaks, all the Henry Reed books (highly, highly recommended for good, clean laughs!), Sherlock Holmes, The Call of the Wild, White Fang, The Jungle Book, Rikitikitavi (the original), Robinson Crusoe, The Swiss Family Robinson, all the Anne of Green Gables books, The Hiding Place, Tramp for the Lord, In My Father’s House, Alone, Yet Not Alone, Ten Tortured Words, Ten Fingers for God, The Light and the Glory, Sounding Forth the Trumpet, From Sea to Shining Sea, Peter Pan, Love and Pasta, any of the What Katy Did books, and tons of other books.
Movies: Ha ha, and you thought my list of BOOKS was long. I’ll try to keep this short(er). all LOTR and CON films, Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emperorium, Earth, Home Alone, White Christmas, most VeggieTales (what do you expect for teaching small children? ) Pride and Prejudice (A&E verson), Star Trek films, Robin Hood (most versions), Space Balls, Men in Tights, Uncle Buck, My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof, Wackiest Ship in the Army, The Great Race, Father Goose, True Grit (old and new), most John Waynes, and many, many others.
TV shows: One solitary show: Say Yes to the Dress.
Music: I’m quite random in my music tastes, and they range all over the board. I mainly listen to soundtracks, but some of my other favorites: Blackmore’s Night (love love LOVE their music.), Celtic Woman, The High Kings, Unorthodox Celts, Josh Groban, John Doyle, Straight no Chaser, Paul Cardall, Yiruma, Epica, Loreena McKennitt, Evanescence, Hayley Westenra, Orla Fallon, Plumb, Anuna, Krypteria, and Leaves Eyes, to name a few.
Food: I eat...odd things. I love rice. I also like Kasha, and Quinoa, and other things like that. As for average American food...um, Pizza is good. I love orange juice, and often use it as a substitute in milk (not in baking, of course, but in most other cases, I can). I also “drink” plain yogurt. French Onion soup is good, and I love bread. I also love my own home-made granola.
Favorite animal: Cats, of any shape and size.
Favorite Narnia Book: Erm.... * goes to make dinner and think on this question * *returns * Well, judging by which book I’ve read in languages other than English, I guess it would be PC. But, I think Silver Chair is my favoritest favorite. LWW is, of course, amazing, too. * chews on fingernails, and finally decides that she can’t decide *
History on Narniaweb: My good friend (nweb member Alatariel) introduced me to The Wardrobe Door, and I found the forums off of that. I originally thought that the Costumes section was the only section of Narniaweb. It took me three to six months to discover that there was a world outside of Costumes. From there, I dabbled in each section, but mainly in the Spare Oom. I took the plunge into Ditto Town a while later, and got into the Town Square about five minutes before I needed to head to bed. I remember, after introducing myself, I chatted for two or three posts, then left. The next day, I came back, and dear Ceppault had made a comment a few posts down that he “hoped we didn’t scare her off.”
My RPing started by accident, also. Stars_Daughter (now Starsy) and I were playing around in the Town Square, and realized that our posts were becoming more and more of a story than chat, so we started an RP together. Since then, my participation in other sections has diminished, but I’ve kept RPing. For a while, that was really the only thing I looked at on the forums.
Then, a few years ago, I got a short PM from Fantasia_Kitty asking if I would join the moderating team. Being a bit more suspicious than most, I think I sent her back a PM along the lines of “Uh...and what sort of duties would I HAVE?” F_K responded very sweetly, and I said yes, and then she touched me with her magic wand and I went *POOF!* and turned into a shrew--I mean, moderator.
What he/she likes best about Narniaweb: I hate to admit it, but the Mod Lounge is my favorite place to hang out. Outside of that, I love all my RPers.
Rule most often forgotten by me: Hmmm...probably to keep things PG. I can get pretty violent. The only rule I remember ever breaking was when I accidentally uploaded a 300x900 banner for my signature. 😮
Favorite/funniest Nweb memory: hmm.... I remember once chasing after a lost mind in a ginormous pink tennis ball.... Then, of course, there was the time that gymfan and I discovered that we knew each other from long before our nweb days. That was kinda funny.
First Narniaweb Post: I think it had something to do with the white witch's melting crown. We were discussing if the crown wax truly melting or if she was wearing a tiara.
Typical Sayings(s): "Oh my platypus" is a favorite. "So yeah. Anyway..." is usually my verbal pause.
Comments by other mods:
Wren is a fantastic mod. We had never really had the chance to talk to her before we became mods last year, but we've had the opportunity of working a bit closer with her lately, and we have both been very impressed by what we've seen. 😀 She has a great sense of humor and always puts it to good use on the Mod Squad. A while back she 'adopted' us as her younger mod sisters, and assigned us the name 'The Sisters Weird'... we have yet to think up a fitting title for her.
You're a great part of the mod team, Wren!

Lady A = Awesomeness
"Lady A is so fun to write with and talk to. I'm inspired to greater creativity every time we plot together to work on roleplaying stories, and I've found in her a wonderful friend and great mentor as I start my new duties as a moderator."

Okay...to answer the first 31 questions. I find it interesting that, so far, only mods have commented.
1. Favorite pizza topping(s)? I used to love Cheese, Olives and Mushrooms. It was delish. But, of late, olives don't taste the same, so I'm going to have to go with garlic sauce, cheese, green onions, mushrooms and pepperoni.
2. Favorite cuisine? Either Indian, Japanese or Chinese. I like Eastern foods.
3. Favorite Star Trek movie? Well, I haven't watched all of them (working on it!) but I like the Star Trek alternate reality, with Wrath of Khan as a second. My favorite character is not in either, though.
4. Sunrise or sunset? Sunset! Unless I'm already awake. Then Sunrise.
5. Oceans or mountains? Oceans! With a sunset!
6. Full or crescent moon? Crescent.
7. Favorite holiday? Christmas Season. When else can you hear the life of Jesus sung on every radio station?
8. Favorite season? Winter.
9. Does it snow where you live? Unfortunately, no. It has snowed once in my entire life here. We do get hailstorms, though.
10. If so, do you like it or consider it a nuisance? Love it. Not so with hail.
11. Which of the Walden Narnia films is your favorite? Mmm, LWW.
12. Are you ever going to finish watching the Star Wars movies? Someday, yes. I just have to get the last movie.
13. Which of my [Booky's] RP characters is your favorite? Either Cassandra or Desdemona.
14. Why? Because Cassandra's prickly and Desdemona has attitude galore.
15. Which is your least favorite? Either Desdemona's boyfriend or Drake.
16. Why? Because the BF seems to only be there to oogle over Desdemona, and Drake seems to sulk all the time.
17. When did you read LotR for the first time? Probably when I was 8 or 9. Might have been later, but I know if was a while before the movies came out.
18. Frodo or Sam? Movie or Book? Movie-Sam. Book-Frodo.
19. Eowyn or Arwen? * points to username * Arwen, ya think?
20. Merry or Pippin? Pip.
21. Do you own a cape? Surprisingly, no. I have fasteners and bobbles for them, but I don't have a cape of my own. All my "little sisters" do, though.
22. Do you get called Wren-y-wren-wrill-lil-loo on a regular basis? Only when Mel's in the mood to do so.
23. How were you introduced to Henry Reed? My dad read them out loud to my family when I was around 7. I read them on my own a while after that, and continue to re-visit them every few years.
24. Do we get points or cookies if we guess which picture you intend to post of yourself? Yep, I'll buy you a cookie next time I see you. And you're right.
25. Do you like coffee tables? Yes. I pet them on a regular basis.
26. Do coffee tables like you? They've yet to attempt to bite me, so I believe so.
27. How do you feel about roller coasters? They are evil.
28. What's your favorite thing about California? That everything is with driving distance. I can drive to the snow, to the beach, to San Fran, to LA, to the desert, to anywhere. It is all easily accessible.
29. If you could live anywhere else in the universe, where would it be? Delta 4. Or in Dittotopia.
30. What is with the use of the animal "shrew" on this site in humor? I dunno. I think Digsy started it. He likes to turn people his is unhappy with into shrews. I must say, though, Jo makes a very cute shrew.
31. Eddie Izzard or Simon Pegg? Pegg.

15. Which is your least favorite? Either Desdemona's boyfriend or Drake.
16. Why? Because the BF seems to only be there to oogle over Desdemona, and Drake seems to sulk all the time.
Um, Desdemona's boyfriend is my character, Lady A. My vampire character Simon. And I don't think he's ever oogled her . . . he kind of finds her mildly annoying yet amusing and that's why he hasn't staked her yet. I know I haven't been in the mansion lately to write for Simon, but yeah. Simon, Desdemona's boyfriend, is my character.
I guess now I have to ask you questions.
Um, in the absence of Brennan . . .
What is your opinion of woodchucks?
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

44. How did you come up with your username? Well...when I joined the forum, I wanted a generic sounding username, and, since LOTR had just come out, people were all gaga for the characters, so I decided to go ahead and use a character from that. I originally wanted to use Goldberry, but I changed my mind and did Lady Arwen. No idea why I changed my mind...probably because Goldberry wasn't in the films, and Arwen was.
